Maybe there's a part of you that has a "fear" of making goal, and leads to self-sabotage. Try to work through that, and then continue logging to keep yourself accountable during maintenance. Best of luck.

Think you should only add the extras that you do, since the lightly active designation comes from your nannying activities.

Go to food network online, and try Alton Brown's baked brown rice . I sub olive oil for butter, add onions, etc. Comes out perfectly, no rice cooker needed.

Alton Brown's baked brown rice recipe on the food network turns out very well. I sub olive oil for the butter, add onion, etc.

Heck, it seems to be working well for you!!!!!! Congrats on your great weightless. Mine varies, but since dinner is my time to wind down, I like to have a lot left, plus sometimes do more exercise to get more calories.

My goals are about behaviors---- weighing my food consistently, getting in my water, exercise, logging, etc. I had a "weight goal" in mind, but after reading about other people's experiences, I decided that would be counterproductive for me.

Yes, monounsaturated fatty acids in the olive oil. A smidgen of butter, if you really want it, can be worked into your day ( maybe a little butter spray and then salt it?) Enjoy that popcorn.!!

Don't over think it. Honestly, if I just keep going over it in my head, I can talk myself out of doing the right thing, food wise or with exercise. Plus, I coach myself to do something, if I can't do a whole workout, just do a little. And next thing you know, I've done more than I planned!!!!

You sound determined. It sounds like you have the food management fairly well under control. Can you pack some of your own cheese sticks, fiber bars, fruit, etc. for snacks? Or get some at a grocery store near where you're staying and store them in the hotel refrigerator? Don't forget to keep drinking your water, even if…

Last year, I got about half way through the C25k program. I really noticed a change in my body, really firmed me up. Seems like nothing does it, like running. Unfortunately, my right foot rebelled, and I developed plantar fasciitis, so had to tried to walk, etc. It has healed, but I had some pain that I don't want back.…

I do like the show, and try not to miss an episode. It is good to encourage a more sensitive view of obese people and their tremendous struggles. But I do have a couple of problems with it. Even though there are doctors around to keep an eye on people, I wonder why they make the contestants run, it just seems like it would…

Don't drink soda pop, don't chew gum, and include monounsaturated oils, like olive, in your diet.

From the outside looking in, I would say your weight is more than acceptable for your build. You look lovely. The number is not as important as the fitness level....it is a highly personal thing. So, unless a doctor is saying to get your weight down, enjoy the journey to ongoing fitness and vitality!

I think if you can do some kind of workout, you will feel better. If rinsing your hair will be acceptable to your stylist, go for it! You can still make relatively good choices at dinner. Enjoy the special timeand really hit the workout harder the next day. Just don't use it as an excuse for going wild. If we are serious…

I think there is a "honeymoon period"--- and then a person starts taking the "tools" here for granted. Gets to a point where you have to change it up, try a new food, try a new activity or something? I know, it takes more "umph" to do that ---- I find if I overthink things I talk myself out of it..... but if I just make…

Was this according to the doctor's scale, compared to weight at home on your own scale? Just wondering if you weighed on the same scale, same time of day, etc.

How much over? Excessive protein is not great on the kidneys, but if you're working with weights, you are probably fine, as the muscles need it for repair. Plus, I've heard that 3 lbs. in two weeks is about right for healthy weight loss. We all wish it would just melt away faster, it's human nature.
-
It took me about a week or so. I still get those "hungry days", but they only come one at a time. (Usually after I've had diet pop or something very sugary.) Actually, eating the smaller amounts, including protein throughout the day has helped me not feel hungry.
-
Congratulations--- You have done so well so far! This should help you through your plateau, so friend me if you want!

Greek yogurt---I love Chobani pomegranate and consider it a special treat. Or a bit of cinnamon applesauce stirred into cottage cheese and broiled on a slice of light toast.

I can relate! That emotional eating is what has me here, as well. Just look forward, and not back! It's all that you can control anyway. If we can just convince ourselves that eating won't solve the problem or resolve the issue. Maybe plan on doing a substitute activity that will soothe/comfort you?
-
ABSOLUTELY.......no matter what, you only go around once, and if you do it right, once is enough!!!! :drinker:
-
Try to feel proud of yourself for taking such good care of yourself for the week! You have set something in motion that will payoff in the long run. Sorry that you have been disappointed after all of the hard work. Just stay the course, ignore the scale for another week, and most likely that number will shift downwards!…

This is a good place for the tools of change! Bring it!!!
-
Sounds like you have a good understanding--- and that scale movement may NOT really be a good indicator of how we're doing. Because the increased sodium can make it look like a 3 lb. gain --- when you're just holding onto fluid/fiber for a time period after consuming a higher than normal amount of food!!!
-
Thanks all---- I will put it behind me and hope I didn't do too much damage. Of course, I just hope not to see a gain, but in that case, I know that it will be temporary!
