Sugar is a tough one. I try to stay under 30g a day (which is the amount MFP "says" I can have, FDA guidelines I think), but one medium banana has 27g. If you stay away from refined, processed sugar, you should be ok as long as you stay under 50 or 60g. I saw a report a few weeks ago that says the average american consumes…

It's all in my signature, but I started June 6, 2011 at 230, and as of this morning I am at 208.4. I joined MFP on the 7th of June, today is day 50....so 21.6lbs in 50 days!

Beautifully written and so inspiring! I quit smoking a few days ago, and am just starting w5 of c25k (one habit had to go, and I wanted to keep running!) Reading your story tells me I CAN do it, and I WILL do it! Can't wait to be sharing my own inspirational story soon!

I love having MFP on my phone! I can enter meals/snacks/water wherever I am, and don't have to worry about remembering it later. And you have a scan option, so if what you're eating has a barcode, you can just scan it into your diary!

amen! Love my 2 hours a day at the gym!

You could have a taco salad, with salsa instead of dressing, just don't eat the shell if it comes in one, it'd deep fried!

That's fantastic!! 5.2 for me, got to go back this afternoon for the blood drive!

Like everyone has said, it's normal. Yesterday evening I weighed 210.8, this morning I weighted 208.4. Water, the food you've eaten, sodium, exercise...they all have a bearing on your daily weight. If you're going to weigh every day, only compare to the weight a week ago, not the day before.

Only did c25k today, and a little walk with some friends, so 7/25: 2.71m Not sure what I'll get in tomorrow...giving blood at the gym, and I'm sure they'll tell me no on the exercise afterward. I'll be back on my A game on Wednesday!

That is fantastic!!!

Birthday was great! Well, it was just the two of us, but he really had a good time. AND I managed to go to the gym still both days! Which was a lifesaver, because my eating habits were kind of left by the wayside the last 2 days (mmm cake, haha). Anyways, 7/20: 4.2 miles 7/21: 8.53 miles (yay wave elliptical! Miles are so…

7/19: 6.35 Tomorrow is my son's 5th birthday and I'm taking him to the beach for the night. I'll try to get a couple miles in using runkeeper but you might not hear from me until Thursday. =)

Great post! If you attend a gym, ask if they have an ElectroLipoGraph body composition analysis system (ELG) for members to use. It measures your body fat percentage, which can give you your lean body mass (if you're remotely competent at math, or someone in the gym is, lol) My original goal was to be my high school weight…

The trainer at the gym told me yesterday that doing weights before cardio will help burn more fat during your workout. I don' t know if the cardio has to be done right afterward for it to work or not, but it's something to think about =)

1 can of mt dew has 170 cals (empty, worthless cals at that). say you drink 4 a day, that's an extra 680 cals a day. Most people don't think about calories in things they drink, so they still eat as much as they normally do. So if you take in an extra 680 cals a day, that's 4760 a week EXTRA. A year = 247,520! that equals…

A couple tablespoons of peanut butter will give you 200 cals, or a few slices of cheese. Ooh, cheese and peanut butter together is a pretty good combo...add a sliced up apple and you have a filling, sweet, healthy, high calorie snack!

I do this with either yellow or lemon cake mix, and a bag of frozen berries on the bottom. I think you bake at 350 for 45 mins...takes a little longer than regular cake since the berries are frozen. It's a WW recipe someone passed along to me. MMM.....

YESSSS!!! I need these in my life!

I just did a health and lifestyle planning deal at my gym today and they gave me an interesting packet of info about cardio. Over exercising: Many times when people begin their program, they are excited and motivated to get results and attain their wellness and health goals. One of the natural responses we see in the…
