I am 5'5" and i was 218-220 and some of my XL's were alittle too tight. So I was wearing mostly XL and some XXL. I was wearing an 18/20 size tops and jeans. I had some loose cut 16W jeans I could wear but only if I wasn't bloated. Thankfully I have given those away and am at 180 wearing med or large tops and size 12 jeans.…

Add me!! I'm certainly not perfect but I'm plugging along on here for the last year. I am a similar age as you and also a busy mom and full time worker. Let's help each other along this bumpy road. Sending a friend request now. : )

I have to same trouble as O.P. I just try to treat myself extra kind and do something nice. Hair or nails done. Massage. I also need ibuprofen sometimes to help with the aches. I do tend to eat more on the first few days but within a day or so, I'm back on track. Good luck!

You look great Dani!!! Thanks so much for "friending" me! I really enjoy following your example and am hoping to reach my goal. You have been one of my main inspirations here bec we have such similar stats. (I'm 5'5 and needed to lose about 60lbs) l've lost 40 lbs so far and I also feel that if it takes me another year to…

Congrats!!!! Way to go! I did my first 5K a couple of weeks ago. I didn't train to run/jog. I just wanted to walk it with my friends and family. It was a support walk for Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation Center. My bro-in-law was in their hospital for 15 weeks after a wreak. I walked the whole thing for a time of almost exactly…

I also make homemade taco seasoning with similar ingredients but I noticed last time I made taco meat, that the chili powder I was using has salt as an ingredient. What kind do you use that doesn't have salt? I have been trying to find a low/no salt version of chili powder but maybe they don't have such a thing here in…

I totally get this!! I have done this my whole life. Realizing it and accepting it has been the key (and MFP) to my losing weight for the first time. I have, countless times, stood in the kitchen after work, eating a snack while I gather the energy to cook dinner! Then I would snack and taste while I cooked dinner and then…

Hey redmoto! Looks like an 8++!! Hope you wear your helmet when u ride! Protect your beautiful head! : )

I totally agree with the others. I still see myself in the mirror as fat. I still think my stomach is fat and I of course still focus on my other "problem" areas. I get compilments and I catch myself saying "well.... I still need to lose more..." But looking at myself in photos (old ones AND new ones) help me see the…

We keep a jug of distilled water to cook with. Our city's water is also high in minerals and lime and it affects the taste of our food, esp when we steam or boil veggies.

I'm 5' 4" and I weigh 180lbs. I currently wear a size 12 in most things, a size large top or sometimes medium depending on the cut. I try not to wear anything too baggy. I always get the most compliments when I wear fitted styles. Most people are surprised to find that I weigh 180. I say, if you like how you look in it and…

Yeah, I feel a little better...Thanks for asking. I realize the irony. I'm sure you've had alot sucess (though there is no way to tell since your profile is all private-tized) and you only want to help people improve their health so I vote we put DAVE in charge of bustin' chops. A little tough love is probably what some…

Rude and not helpful.Tthough if it makes you feel better to pass judgement, you could just keep it to yourself next time. Better yet as others have done, offer a suggestion that adds to the conversation.

I sometimes just add estimated quick calories too when I'm busy. After you cook/prepare the food and clean up, sometimes it's easier to just enter calories. Have you used the "remember meal" feature on the counter page? That button will let you copy a meal to another day and once you get it there you can adjust it, add or…

Hello! I'm Barbara, I live in Norman and have two kids, 11 year old boy and 4 year old girl, a husband who is also on MFP. Glad to see a Norman/OKC group and I hope you will add me as a friend, if you like. I'm really just now getting into the group and message boards and have found them to be pretty amazing! I work full…

Hey Dave! Welcome. So sorry for what you had to go through with your heart attack and I'm glad you are still here! TLC is tough. My husband got the wake up call from his doctor, fortunately before he had to experience a cardiac event. He started MFP and was so sucessful in the first month I jumped on board too. That's been…

OHHH. Great topic! Here goes. Be nice to yourself, especially when you first start this journey. If you "mess up", log the calories, forgive yourself the indiscrections, get up the next day and try again. And the next and the next. If you want to be good at something you have to practice and no one gets it right everyday.…

Welcome! Add me if you'd like, I also have had trouble with health and weight loss until my significant other also got serious about taking care of himself. We do it together now and it's much easier. I would be glad to be apart of your support system!

@ addison's You look really strong!

Sure!! Lots of people go by weekly calorie amounts instead of daily. Enjoy the dessert!

Healthy good snacks that are calorie dense can be that portioned for quick snacks. !/4 cup almonds is 170 calories with all sorts of other good nutrients. Also a tablespoon of natural peanut butter is a great quick snack. Half an avocado sprinkled with a little salt or lemon juice. String cheese is already portioned some…

Sorry, just learning about quotes. I love this one because it's so true, just finishing your daily log is a great step in keeping up your healthy eating habits. Maybe they could find a way to be more encouraging in that case but I won't complain about too much about this wonderful (FREE) app. : )
