  • Tell me about the endo diet!
  • You are absolutely correct - it's a serious drug with serious side effects. I did it for 6 months and that's the longest you should ever take it. If it weren't for some serious internal damage from all the endo scar tissue and lesions I would not have agreed to take it. Lots of side effects. Being off the injections for…
  • I make these brownies often. My husband dislikes them so I get the whole pan to myself! Definitely an acquired taste but when you are craving a brownie they work to satisfy the hunger.
  • Congratulations on getting through your appointment! Those vaginal ultrasounds are icky, aren't they? It can be so nerve wracking. I just finished 6 months of Lupron injections. Two things - it absolutely stops the pain and bleeding, but I had weight gain, hot flashes, and mood swings. (It's basically like a medically…
  • I cried (with joy) after leaving my first appointment with an official diagnosis. For years and years people told me I was just being a baby, or being ridiculous, or just exaggerating the pain and other symptoms. The doctor told me that he didn't know how I was able to function as a normal person in daily life! I felt so…
  • I just finished a round of 6 months of Luperon shots. AWFUL. I hated it, but it did stop the bleeding and lowered the pain. One of the major reasons I'm back on MyFitnessPal is due to the 40 pound weight gain I experienced on the shots. Now the doctor has me on a strict 1100 caloreis/day diet plan. I'm finally coming out…
  • My doctor reminds me that a lot of the pain from endo is caused by inflammation. Heartburn is a form of inflammation - I wouldn't be surprised. Another thought - are you taking lots of pain medications at the same time? Some pain meds cause upset stomach and heartburn, maybe that's what's causing it?
  • I, too, was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 endo. It's a relief to FINALLY have a diagnosis, but the cure has been worse than the disease lately. I joined the group just looking for people who 'get it' :)

  • Thanks for the details! After my diagnosis (SAME story as you!) I read that somewhere but dismissed it as an old wives' tale. I will try to pick up this book and learn more...I'm desperate for relief from my symptoms.
  • Thanks, yall. I have an appointment in 2 weeks to re-evaluate the plan with my doctor. I was hoping there was someone else out there who went through this that might have tips for getting through it :ohwell:
  • I have slathered them in tomato sauce, then top with some low fat mozarella. Like a low-cal chicken parm! Eat with a side of steamed veggies, and a black bean brownie for dessert.
  • I drink a super hot cup of tea around 2:30pm. The heat and the liquid trick my tummy! It has really helped. I also eat lots of small meals during the day, so that tends to keep me on track, too. When I absolutely MUST cave, my desk drawer has nuts, dried fruits, applesauce, 100 calorie Slim Fast chocolate bars, sugar free…
  • Anything fried or creamy is trouble for me. And recently, my obgyn diagnosed me with endometriosis - which he said causes the IBS to be more severe. Apparently the bowel is very near your reproductive organs, and with all those hormones sloshing around it churns everything up pretty bad. I just thought I had a nervous…
  • Do one small thing everyday - a little something extra like park in the farther parking space or take the stairs. Small victories add up to large successes :)
  • 2.5 lbs - I guess it's not terrible for eating anything and everything I wanted.
  • I think it goes by what you 'normally' do. If you 'normally' work hard 3.5 hours a day, your body is accustomed to that and it doesn't count as excersize. I think you are correct to set your lifestyle to active. Log all your daily food intake, and any physical activity over and above your 'normal' work day.
  • Wow! Good job. I admire the fact that you kept the dress, knowing someday you would wear it again. I got frustrated at my highest weight and got rid of ALL my clothes - 15 garbage bags! Now I'm sad that as I lose I have nothing to wear.
  • 1.) I only ate 1/2 my lunch - finished when I was full instead of when the plate was empty. (Still working on ordering less to begin with so there is less waste.) 2.) Took an extra walk on my lunch break even though my heels are kiling me!
  • You won't catch me using bc pills. Same reason you won't catch me getting a flu shot - too much crud going in to my body! If there was even the slightest chance that they would cause blood clots, stroke, hormone inblanaces, etc. - why would anyone do that?! For birth control I stick to condoms or the rhythm method. People…
  • Herbalife protein powder mixed with Herbalife healthy meal powder. Yummy and so good for you!
  • You have some tall boys! They are going to be lady-killers
  • I like Herbalife - lots of flavors to choose from like vanilla, chocolate, fruity, or even cookies'n'cream.
  • I'm not a vegetarian, but I just made this salad and it was great! 1 cup cooked brown rice 1 red bell pepper 1 can corn 1 can black beans, drained 1 cup salsa juice of one lemon 1 avocado sliced on top This will give you two large servings, and it is very filling.
  • I think if you fast the rest of the day you will just end up starving by tomorrow and find it even harder to eat well. I say have some light snacks throughout the rest of the day and drink lots of water. Make the snacks high in fiber and protein. You can get right back into the swing of things tomorrow :)
  • So you've been at this for about a month? Guess what also happens about every month... I always gain 3-5 pounds about that time, and then it disappears again.
  • I drink a tea pot full of hot water, or water with VERY mild tea, almost every day. I reuse the tea about 4-5 times, each time just letting it steep for a minute or so. It makes me feel warm, happy, and full - and my skin looks great.
  • I use Herbalife and have had great results! So easy, you just have two shakes a day, with protein snacks and a reasonable dinner. They taste good and fill you up. I was a total skeptic, but have been won over. Drinkin' and Shrinkin'!
  • Oh yes. I notice about a 5 pound difference. I try to drink a lot of water, and eat foods that are natural diuretics. It always evens out after that week.
  • I used to avoid those white plastic outdoor chairs - know the ones I'm talking about? They have the arm rests that that used to cut into my legs, and the whole chair would wobble when I sat down. Well, this weekend I sat comfortably in one for an hour. There was room to spare, even with my winter coat on!!
  • Absolutely NOT. No flu shot for me, ever. Have you ever read the list of ingredients that they put in those things?! It is basically poison and a small dose of the flu, which is supposed to make your immune system work overtime. You should not be forced to take ANY form of medicine if you don't want to. There are groups…
