OMG, I see trainers at one of the gyms I work at doing this ALL THE TIME! It makes me dizzy!!!! Since I'm "just" a group fitness instructor there, however, and not a trainer (YET) I don't have a right to step in (and I wouldn't anyways, unless I were a supervisor)... but it eats me up!!!!! YOU should be your trainer's top…

I disagree... Too many women are under the impression that if they strength train they will get bulky... nope nope nope. Strength training is going to create more lean muscle mass, which helps burn fat, AND it will speed up your metabolism... another perk is that it increases bone density, which is particularly excellent…

I've done Slim in 6... great program! Like Jess said... when you are done you should try the Slim Series! Oh gosh that's gooood!

I use Stevia (same as Truvia), and it's good... on top of that, 0 calories AND it doesn't spike insulin levels the way that other sweetners do... so it's best for diabetics to use it.

Beware of Bob Evans... I read an article a couple of months ago stating that they have some of the highest trans fat rations in their foods out of many restaurants. I'm not sure I believe that they have any healthy options anymore :( Too bad, too, because I used to like that place.

I'm on week 3 of the ChaLEAN Extreme program, and I'm LOVING IT!
-
Turbo Jam (or Turbo Kick as it's called in the gyms) really gets my calorie burn up. Usually 700+ calories per hour. I also burn a lot with some of the cardio workouts from P90X. I've yet to wear my HRM with my ChaLEAN workouts, but I have a feeling I'm burning a lot w/those as well.

I have just about all of the Beachbody videos.

As I said in another thread... I work full time from 9-5, I teach 4 classes per week at various gyms (which take up most of my nights), and I'm studying to earn my personal training certification... on top of that I'm constantly learning new routines for my classes and working on new choreography. If I can find time for my…

Yoga may not be a big calorie burn... but the benefits it yields for the body make it all the more well worth it.
-
Not only does it burn calories, but it has a residual calorie burn once you've finished AND by building up lean muscle you'll actually be increasing your resting metabolic rate! :)

Every weight machine at the gym shows you a guide as to what muscles they work... most gyms also have weight machines set up by body part... so all bicep machines should be close together, all back machines should be close together, etc etc etc. To work the whole upper body I recommend doing sets on at least one machine…

Oh, man... Burn Circuit 2 kills me! By the time I get to the bicep curl w/lateral leg lifts I'm toast!!! Tonight I teach yoga and bellydance... it'll be good to get extra stretching in. I've had to up my calories a lot today, though, because of those two classes... I admit to drinking some calories extra just to make sure…

Just be aware that targeting the inner thighs is NOT going to stop the jiggle or even burn fat away if that's all you do. Inner thigh exercises should be done as part of a TOTAL BODY workout, including strength training and cardio. See here: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/29555-fitness-training-a-rant

That is the type of success that ALL should strive for! Congrats on finding it! :flowerforyou:

If you can't say "no" to it, then it would be an addicition... as said. If you have control over it, then it's just a habit. If the habit is keeping you from your goals, then adjust it so that you intake less. If it's truly an addiction, then you'll need to work even harder to take control of it.

Turbo Jam also rocks! I got certified to teach it because I enjoyed it so much... and now I teach 2 Turbo classes per week (in addition to doing ChaLEAN and other classes... oy! No wonder I'm sore!)

What she said... There is a girl who goes to the gym where I workout at. Anyone who looks at her would think she is skin and bones... she is so underweight it's not even funny. But I see her there all the time, doing cardio until the cows come home, but she's so weak she can barely even lift weights... it's not healthy.…

LeeNee!!!! :) :) :) I'm still over at the BB boards, too, but those have exploded so much it's hard to find some peeps anymore :) I mainly hang at "Gettin' FINE in '09" and "Midwest X." That's really about it... they move fast enough to keep me busy, for sure! Guess who I heard from... DEW!!!!! She's back in the game with…

You've got some Beachbody vids too, right? Set yourself up a plan and stick to it :)

Girl, you are totally rockin' this out!!!! Proud of you! :flowerforyou:

There's a preview for that program on my site if you want to check it out... the web address is in my signature.

I consider 10 Minute Trainer to be a little more intermediate, as opposed to beginner (especially the ab workout, oy!). It's a really well designed program! I got them for my friend Liz, who wanted to slim down for her wedding, and she loves the videos and still does them multiple times per week (and she still finds them…

You may want to get Beth Horn's book (she's a Gladiator)... she has it on her site at www.bethhorn.com She's a professional fitness model and has done many Figure Competitions (also fitness related, but not body building... slightly leaner body build). She lists the kind of diets she eats when training as well as lots of…

A lot of health and fitness magazines have online sites where they have various workouts you can download. Try SELF, FITNESS, SHAPE, WOMEN'S HEALTH, etc.

I have a feeling it won't be long before I'm lifting heavier than Chalene too... as I'm currently lifting about the same as or just below (2 lbs. or so) what she's lifting. I find my grip and forearms burning... I need to learn not to grip the weights for dear life so much!

I agree... give it a go!
