  • That can happen when building muscle and burning fat. I'm a prime example right now. I started ChaLEAN today and it felt good to be lifting heavy again... granted, this program has me challenging myself to lift even heavier than I have before. It's tough. My body feels goooooood now, though! I know this is going to be do…
  • I agree... I LOVE Turbo Jam :)
  • They'll get better... push-ups are my bain as well... but you'll be able to do more, I know it :)
  • Alright... I did Day One this morning... wowzers. At first I was like, "I'm not gonna sweat very much,"... BOY was I WRONG! I sweat lots. It takes a lot of control to move those heavy weights so slow... I had balance checks a few times on one of those moves. One thing I'm finding is that my grip strength isn't that…
  • It's ok in moderation. I like using it when cooking fish, because it kinda leaves it with a buttery taste w/o using any butter :)
  • Start a circus! ;) Ok, that was a terrible joke, I'm sorry... but you joked first :) I'm sooooooo looking forward to starting my heavy lifting again. I've been out of commission for a while due to injuries and illness. It stinks! Because of that my whole body shape has changed... I haven't really gained much weight, but my…
  • Like Tena said... there are many ways to do push-ups. The one thing you really want to pay attention to while doing push-ups (whether on your toes or your knees) is to avoid belly-flopping as you come down to the floor, and then peeling yourself up. That can compromise the spine. At the start of a push-up (plank or…
  • I'd have to see a picture ;) Wanna trade? I want biceps, but instead my arms stay longer and leaner... no matter how heavy I lift! I'm hoping this new program I'm starting will actually make my biceps come out to play :D
  • Be sure you keep hydrated... dehydration is one cause of cramps.
  • *bumping* Hoping ivykivy will see my questions :)
  • Hey Craig! :D It's Mel! Jackie... P90 was the first home video program I ever did... I lost 25 pounds doing it and gained a good deal of strength. It's very effective :) If you have any questions, hit me up... since I've done a full round hopefully I can help you :D
  • A wrong way to do what? I haven't started ChaLEAN yet... my plan has been to start on the 29th. Good thing, too, since I've been sick for some weeks! I have a feeling I should be back to my ol' self by the 29th, and ready to knock that program outta the water! :D
  • One of the main reasons I'm not really for Special K... 1st - Sugar comes third on the ingredients list... which means that there's quite a lot in there. 2nd - High Fructose Corn Syrup... seriously? Yep, it's in there. On top of that, it boasts a grand "less than 1 gram" of Fiber per serving. Now THAT is not going to leave…
  • I'm jealous that you are starting already, Jess! I need to kick this virus to the curb!!!! Question for you... did you get confused about the calendar layout? It doesn't really specify... well, ok, here's an example. I'm starting the program on a Monday, which puts the final "measure" and rest day for the first month on a…
  • You can do it :) That's about what I did on P90... 45 days of 1/2 and then moved to 3/4. Really, though, you can gage it by how you feel. If you are feeling stronger sooner then 45 days into the program, then move up to 3/4 then. PS - I'm with ya on push-ups... I still don't like them... hah!
  • OMG, you took the words right out of my mouth! If it's something you wouldn't want your children to see you doing and copy, then you shouldn't be doing it either. Oh, and trust me... you WILL feel hungry on the Special K diet... sure that cereal is low in calories and has been pumped w/various vitamins and minerals... but…
  • Good luck... any Indian dish gives me tummy cramps... but that's because I'm a big wuss when it comes to spices.
  • Ditto! Welcome to the club :)
  • Capers! I made a fish recipe using capers this week... it was sooo good!
  • You do burn more calories while standing than while sitting... but those don't really count as a workout. Instead, you just consider that as part of your normal daily activity level.
  • It's free... www.WOWY.com If there is a spot in there for a referral name, feel free to put me in there :) (or put in ID 1126)
  • Nevermind... just saw you already went there! I'd say you made good choices :)
  • Things that look good to me are: Kebabs (Indian food) Chicken Pita, Moussaka, Greek Salad (w/ dressing on side) (Green... Acropolis) Tadich's Fine Foods may have some typical baked or grilled chicken w/veggies. Maybe treat yourself to a couple chestnuts :)
  • I have a friend, well, someone I know online... who has had some McD's fries in a jar which he takes pictures of every now and then... last I saw, they still looked as good as new!
  • Yay...can't wait to see it! cwjett - WOWY is an online gym over at Team Beachbody... it allows you to schedule workouts and find workout buddies who are going to workout at the same time as you. I use it on a daily basis, myself.
  • Connie - you should be just fine. The program doesn't say things like, "OK, everybody pick up a 25 lb. dumbbell for this next exercise." It's designed so that anyone can do it. The key is lifting the weights you can lift to stay within the desired rep. range on the videos. The program even does a great job breaking this…
  • Many restaurants, like Applebee's and Chili's, have sections of their menus with healthier options and they'll list the calories/carb/fat content, and whatnot. General rules are to pick dinners that come with a lean meat (chicken, fish, etc.) that's grilled, broiled or baked (no breading) and not totally drowned in thick…
  • But do they have huge arms with hardly any body fat or do they hold body fat on their arms? There's a big difference when you lower your body fat... women are not designed to get huge muscles... we don't have enough natural testosterone to grow such huge muscles. So, if you train properly and lose body fat while gaining…
  • I made one of the recipes for dinner tonight from the nutrition guide... oh, it was so easy to make and totally delicious! :)
  • Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to check that out... I use videos for ideas for doing choreography for my own classes :)
