regardless of whether a person is overweight or very overweight, it is not necessary to dip that low - be it a few days or a few months. Like I asked before, if someone can give a good explanation that has a rational theory or a proven one behind it, I'd love to listen.

500-800 cals per day? I'd like to hear you explain the theory behind how you think this is even workable. It may be working now, but if you listen to what has been scientifically proven, you cannot be an exception to the rule. Sorry, but I don't think you are doing yourself a favor :(

For me, I eat my smart carbs in the morning (should I choose to eat complex carbs that day). For example: 1/2 Grapefruit 6 Eggwhites 1 piece of WW toast 1 cup of Coffee. I find for me, that Carbs work best in the morning as they convert into energy. I need my energy at the start of the day (not at the end when I sit around…

These are all fantastic responses so far - thank you! Can anyone provide me with some numerical or scientific reasons as to why? I often wonder mathematically why this makes sense and my brain needs more information he he!

Doing weight training with your own body weight works beautifully! A simple example of what would be good to try is: 6 sets of 10 of the following: 10 Push ups 10 Left Leg Lunges (go slowy to feel the burn) 10 Right Leg Lunges (go slowly to feel the burn) 25 crunches (again, slowly!) 10 burpees. Superset all these…

They sell the mini cans of flaked white tuna at Safeway that have an easy lid. I always pair it with celery sticks, and carrots in a small baggy. Buy a small container of low fat tzatziki or hummus and you've got a whole low-carb meal right there! Need a small carb? Add a slice of ezekiel bread.

I'm a wino and haven't held back slightly with it and have still managed to lose lbs in 3 months.. Like an above poster said, include it into your daily journal and adjust accordingly. If a beer or a glass of wine is what keeps you sane... and this is supposed to be a lifestyle and NOT a diet, then I would say have it!

Try Almond Milk :)

Drink the Wine!! Is it bad that I haven't given up the wine at all on this diet? He he.....
-
Slinkybaz.... Can you provide some insight into why one must drink that much water? While I believe in drinking 8-9 glasses a day, I don't see how going into the double digits is necessary? S

Just wanted to say ALMOND MILK in the unsweetened Chocolate line is AMAZING! I mixed it with some cold Espresso and splenda and it was the best Mocha ever. See ya later Starbucks. This is under 50 cals and is milk-free..... :) :) :)

From what I can see, you are not eating enough greens, not drinking enough water and eating a lot of processed things. While I agree everything in monderation, could you not substitute the MacDonalds for something better? Even if you want to indulge, do so with real food, not processed chemicals. Just my two cents.

I'm a Low-Carb friend :) Add me !

Great recipe - will try! Sometimes I wonder what all the hype is about Starbucks... :S I have a bialetti espresso machine that I use on the stove, heat up some skim milk, foam it with some splenda and then pour in the Espresso. For 60 cals, you just can't beat it! And for more volume, add some hot water :)

Don't give in ladies!!!!! I find that I binge when I decide it's my cheat meal. I decided to do meals instead of a full day because then it would be easier to get on track for the next day. I even did the cheat lunch, so that dinner was back to healthy. Most of the time it works, and other times I go ALL out for the full…

I'm very familiar with pasta - actually make it fresh at home. But if I'm going to indulge in pasta, the whole wheat just doesn't cut it for me. I was referring to the Miracle Noodles... perhaps I'll visit online to see if they can be purchased that way ;)

I have a few ideas about this (I do zig-zagging as well!) 1) How often are you weighing yourself? The scale will fluctuate between 2-3lbs during the week, so it could be that when you stepped on the scale it was reflecting the change mid-week? 2) Since reading a few posts in this section of the message boards, it's become…
