ZUMBA!!!!! It's a blast, there is so much energy in the room, it really keeps your motivation level up! I have also done yoga, but in my experience it can be a bit intimidating- even in a beginner's class. But, if you are like me, and don't care- then that is really great for strength training!

Yes. =) Do the more protein based option... That's my vote for today!

If you didn't notice a difference when you cut it out of your diet- then no harm. Some people are more prone to having it mess with their systems. Also, another option is to go to CostCo and buy this product called "ZippFizz". It's a powder similar to Gatorade, but contains caffeine... I drink it twice as diluted as…

That's always best!!! You should measure around where it's widest...(those lovely saddlebags). This is a hard measurement to get accurate on your own... so if you have someone that can help you, that's a huge help.

WELCOME!!! Not from Ireland, but have been there and LOVE it (and am quite jealous that's where you are!)!! Funny actually, on a family vacation some years ago, we got kicked out a part of Belfast, but some troops in an armored Humvee... Being honest with your food diary is the ONLY way to go! EVERYTHING you eat! In fact,…

That statement is the FIRST thing that needs to change... and obviously by you joining MFP you are well on your way! Welcome! Don't hesitate to ask ANYONE on this site for assistance... seriously, everyone here is GREAT!

I just started Zumba as well, and input it as 45 min high-aerobics and 15 min as low-aerobics. (For a 1 hour class.) I plan on wearing my heart monitor for class to tomorrow, so I can see what I am actually burning. This is probably the best way for you to have an acccurate number to input. Heart monitors are not that…

It's good to be sore... as in the sore that you feel like your muscles are getting stronger. At the beginning, there will be an initial phase, where it's the sore of "I didn't even know that THOSE muscles existed!". Gradually ease into a workout routine. And be sure to give yourself rest days. As in, you just did 2 days in…

ALWAYS celebrate your success! And NEVER minimize your progress!!!! You deserve to jump for joy! Right on.... and yes, your stomach does take a bit to shrink, but eventually it does- and even better, the healthier you start to eat, the more you become in tune with your body, and oddly enough you start to CRAVE things like…

If you are hungry... eat!!! Just eat healthy options... I keep little gladware containers with things like roma or cherry tomatoes, frozen grapes, celery, etc... so that I don't have to open the fridge and make a decision. I grab one of those containers and I am set! Drink water, like everyone has already said of course-…

Do everything that the fellow MPFers have already mentioned!! Plus, look at getting a hydro-clonic. My dad swears by them, and he is by far the healthiest person I know! But wait until your body has started eliminating toxins already- preferably after a nice green smoothie fast, followed by gradually working in solid…

Welcome!!! I am a life long (lacto-ovo) vegetarian, never even so much as tried meat in my 30 years of life (to include in the womb, mom is a vegetarian as well!)... and may I say congratulations to you for making a very health and environmentally wise decision! Here is a basic tip I learned growing up: always have a…

Has anything in your daily routine changed? Are you tasked with something new at work? Are there issues going on in your personal life? I ask, because for me (I sit in front of a computer all day)- I get the boredom munchies when I am not challenged/engrossed enough in my work... I bring baby carrots for such occasions.…

Welcome!!! And congratulations on your weight loss! Remember that it's not ALL about the weight (though we certainly like seeing the numbers on the scale get smaller:wink: )- but more importantly it's about how you FEEL... The perks of adapting a healthy lifestyle are countless: more energy, better sleep, healthier…
