  • You.are. BEAUTIFUL! Way to go fellow Fitness Pal! :)
  • Don't give up! I have had to do a LOT of running on a treadmill. I don't love to do it, but I must keep going. Every day is fresh...trade motivation for determination and you will succeed!
  • GU bothers my stomach. I used Sports Beans (like Jelly beans) I also took water on practice runs using a hydration belt and drank at ALL the water stations at the actual Half. The only thing I would do different is -skip the Gatorade. I didn't train with it, but I drank it at the race and my stomach was all kinds of ANGRY…
  • I guess it's taken my kids growing up and becoming more independent for me to realize I needed to get healthy. I'm so thankful to be a fit Momma!
  • 1. Brooks GTS Running Shoes 2.GARMIN 3.HRM Running and healthy eating helped my lose 45 pounds, run my first Half Marathon, and change my life! If I can, ANYONE can. www.runningsforthebirds.com
  • You should see a doc...but how are your shoes? Did you get fitted for them? Are they old? *Sometimes* the right shoe makes all the difference.
  • I agree -make sure you have plenty of water before, during, and after. If you're running on an empty stomach try eating something...like a yogurt and banana, peanut butter toast, or something else carb/protein combo.
  • That's fantastic! Looks like it wasn't the best weather that day --and you pressed on! I ran my first Half last October. I'm going back to that same race this year for the Full...I'm scared/excited/crazy. :)
  • Stick with it! Be your best friend, and not your worst mean girl. You can do it! :)
  • Thanks, your too sweet! Of course you can add me as a friend :)
  • I have done WW and MFP in my 45 pound weight loss journey. WW is great for scale accountability, for people who don't know how to eat balanced, and to gain face to face support/ideas from week to week. WW is not so good because it teaches you THEIR values of food (which even they continually change) not REAL values of…
  • I'm a Mom! And, I was a young Mom too. I write a blog www.runningsforthebirds.blogspot.com if you like to read and want to stop by! :)
  • I have them too. My "baby" is 8. I also have an 11 and 12 year old. I blogged about my frustration and posted pics of my "flames"...on www.runningsforthebirds.blogspot.com ...The entry is called "The Truth About Skin -Uncovered. I think they fade, but they don't disappear. :(
  • I'll look into these! THANKS!
  • Never even considered mens' ...interesting!
  • Yes! I have thongs with a wide lace top --and I love them...but I heard thongs were bad. THEN, I went running on the treadmill with them and thought I'd have to have them surgically removed! Seriously! LOL
  • Totally gone comando...just prefer not to if I can help it...glad I'm not alone! ;)
  • HELLO, my name is Nina and I'm a sugar addict. This is how I detoxed after Christmas. Lots of green tea and water, high protein, and an added fiber called Glucomannan --which stabilizes blood sugar along with many other benefits... therefore helping with sugar cravings. I wrote about it in my blog ...you can find a link to…
  • YOU.ARE.STUNNING!!! I started my journey almost a year ago. Needing to lose 50 pounds. I just graced the door a month ago with the last 10 pounds left to go. My saving grace was running and, MFP of course! I started a blog about half way through just to stay accountable and to encourage other along the way.…
  • What a proud moment for you! I started running this past spring and went from couch 2 5K to Half Marathon in 7 months! It's an incredible feeling. I started a blog to encourage others and journal about my journey through better health and fitness www.runningsforthebirds.blogspot.com KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
  • This is exactly right...tightening skin --if it will at all....will take time and come through strengthening under muscles, drinking lots of water, and eating right!
  • Change your mind about going outside. Get some good compression tights and tops and layer up (old navy.com is cheaper than some others)! You'll burn calories from walking AND from trying to keep your body temp up! IT really is a winning situation. You can do jacks or run in place inside to get the warmth started before you…
  • Kale chips ....cut leaves off stem, toss in olive oil (not too much), sprinkle with sea salt, bake for 10 minuets at 350!
  • I'm with you! I have 3 kids and have lost 44 pounds...its lookin' like a flat tire but I also have stretch marks --so its not just the extra skin and lack of muscle that need repair. Anyways, I actually blog and wrote one called "The truth about SKIN- uncovered" and posted pics just to be honest about the transformation I…
  • I've only been running since this spring but did my first half in October. The Detroit Free Press was awesome! Where else can you run in 2 countries AND an under-water mile?! Entertainment and crowd support was very encouraging along the way. I plan to make it my first full in 2013! :)
  • VERY WELL SPOKEN! Completely agree. Great program. I went from 5K to running my first Half this past year. Stick to it and you'll be "going for a run" in no time. It's all about attitude! :)
  • Each time I've used GU, I've been sick to my stomach! I cannot use it ---bummer! ...and yes, I chase it with more than enough water. :/
