  • Where do you get the veggie crackers? I couldn't find them online.
  • There is no list of ingredients on their website, can you give them to me off the package? I am allergic to chili peppers so it is very difficult for me to find safe beef jerky. Making my own this weekend with smoked sea salt though!
  • At least switch to gluten free junk? That way he can make gf spaghetti or buy a gf pizza if you really lack the time, and you probably won't feel so bad.
  • Anything that is packaged I buy on Amazon. I have the Amazon credit card, so when I use it for other things I get Amazon points to spend. Nutiva Coconut Oil, all supplements, cocoa powder, maple syrup, palm oil, palm sugar, cooking supplies, some teas, coconut milk, vanilla extract. I am a bit of an Amazon junkie. I also…
  • I roast and mash them and mix in coconut oil and salt. In a pinch you can microwave cook them but they don't have that roasty sweet flavor. Only takes about 2 minutes to cook though.
  • Ditto on the fat. I eat over 50% fat, its wonderful!
  • I forgot to take a picture, but today I sliced some bananas and dipped them in coconut oil. DIVINE!!
  • I used to buy grass fed and finished ground beef at H-E-B until I tried some direct from farms (a local farm, TX Organics, and US Wellness). I thought the stuff from H-E-B had no taste at all compared to them, so I don't expect the stuff from Walmart to taste very good at all. Then again, it IS nice to have options when…
  • Probably 2 weeks. My rule is if it has funky stuff on top or smells bad, as I hate to waste food and have NEVER gotten sick from eating "off" food. If it's only a week and smells/looks fine then re-heating it will kill off anything undesirable. In fact, the only thing that stops me from eating food gone bad is that it…
  • My local natural foods store has a bunch of blends they repackage, so I don't know the brand. One of them is white tea with dried blueberries. I put a little vanilla extract into the tea and its like blueberries and cream! Not sweet at all though. White tea is much less bitter than green tea. Celestial seasonings i know…
  • There was a similar problem on Robb Wolf's most recent podcast about a father whose doctor told him they needed to fatten up their baby more. Robb Wolf suggested checking out the World Health Organization's recommendations for height/weights, NOT the US guidelines. Here is the link:…
  • Nutiva is fantastic because it is the cheapest organic one on Amazon. I keep seeing complaints about Tropical Traditions that some are rancid when delivered.
  • Maybe you need to add carbs. I was low carb for almost a year and always felt horribly lethargic, couldn't bring myself to exercise, was cranky and irritable. Started reading paleoforwomen.com, added in some carbs, now I feel great! I especially love the seratonin boost after I eat a delicious fat-covered tuber. So…
  • Argh it double posted and won't let me delete this post, only edit.
  • You might be fructose intolerant. That's what made me super bloated all the time, which I thought was just belly fat. Check out the website thefartingpear.com.
  • You can make ranch dressing with 1/2 mayo, 1/2 sour cream, fresh dill, parsley, and basil!
  • @SweetxCatastr What brand of sausage did you buy?
  • I would be more concerned with the presence of corn syrup in most deli meats. Avoid those. I have found most of the ones at the deli counter contain corn syrup (except Boar's Head)
  • If it is at night perhaps you are tired? I sometimes stop and think to myself when I crave sugar: Am I hungry, or tired? Usually I am tired. Then get ready for bed, make a yummy cup of tea, get a good book, and read until you fall asleep!
  • Funny, I went to BJ's last weekend and had a gluten free pizza and a Redbridge, and suffered no ill effects. This coming from someone who suffers severe IBS and fructose intolerance! Back when I was low-carb Paleo, however, I could not eat more than 100g of carbs in a day (even safe starch) without suffering horrible…
  • Any starch mixed with fat and/or broth. Taro, malanga, yucca, boniato, sweet potatoes. You could also even go for white rice cooked in broth (congee) and regular potatoes. These would be better than wheat pasta.
  • Also, the powdered scrambled/fake omelette eggs are EXTREMELY oxidized (see MDA). = poison. Avoid at all costs.
  • Yogurt. Greek style has more protein. Go for whole fat. Raw if you can get it! Cheese has some protein too. Branch out in the meat department. Pate and bone broth are unusual but good sources. Instead of canned tuna, try canned or smoked salmon or kippered herring or sardines.
  • You seem extremely active and going VLC could make your body think it is under stress. It has been shown that only extremely overweight women benefit the most from a VLC diet. In a normal weight female, it messes up hormones. It definitely messed up mine. 100g of carbs in the form of glucose would be a good goal, and…

  • It tells me the cows must just be eating too much corn and not exercising enough! LOL I like how the guy seemed worried about the fat content of the candy (because as a farmer who fattens up cows on corn, he seemed convinced it was the fat content of the candy/corn which did so, or so I got from it)
  • You can torrent Primal Blueprint for sure. (According to my "friend")
  • Canned fish. Sardines, kippered herring, tuna, and salmon! I like to mix kippered herring into cottage cheese mix it up sometimes.
  • I didn't think coffee gave me any problems until I gave it up. Then my energy evened out! I could be slightly tired, but would never get MORE tired during the day, and I am never as tired as I was before I got my morning coffee. I can't believe I gave it up. If I can give it up, anyone can, with time. I used to be a…
  • What else would be good besides coffee? I just gave up coffee :( I don't think I can drink any coffee substitute teas because I am allergic to cinnamon.
  • This study showed a 50% reduction in lectins by soaking and irradiating. Assuming your "raw" nuts may be irradiated already, soaking may be somewhat effective. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1541-4337.2009.00084.x/full Other studies I found mostly combined soaking with heat treatment, which removed most…
