That is AWESOME.

You can't spot tone. As you lose weight, your body lets go of the fat where it deems there's excess-- in the order your body thinks it should go. I SO WISH I could say to my body, "Hey, um body? Could we remove the fat off my thighs before worrying about arms or chest? Cuz that would be great!" But my body doesn't seem to…

HAHAHA!!! I love it!

I listen to Fat2FitRadio podcasts (religiously) and they recommend 1% of body weight per week. That way you're losing fat but not losing muscle. For some people that might be 10 pounds a month. For others, it won't be. It's a good way to estimate.

I ♥ this advice. There were so many things in it for me to think about how I can fine tune my healthy lifestyle change. (That's code for "I refuse to use the word 'diet' in reference to this journey I'm on.")

I looked at your food diary for about the past week and I think you could improve on fresh fruits and vegetables. Overall your diary looks fairly healthy. But an increase of nutrients, vitamins, and fiber and water that naturally come in fresh fruits and fresh vegetables (not counting potatoes) will give you a nice boost.…

your keys in one pocket and your iphone in the other pocket practically pull them down.

What a great feeling that must've been! You do look amazing! Congrats

Interesting. I'm guessing my 2200-2300 calories a day and dropping 2.5 to 3 lbs. a week must be working for me since I'm still quite heavy. And I've only been doing this since June. Maybe when I'm nearer to my goal of 147 things will be different.

I've seen so many comments on other peoples' diaries that I chose to keep mine private. I know that I don't always pick the best choices, but I'm learning. And I personally can't take the criticism right now as I'm very new in my weight loss journey. I don't know if that will change though.

Since you just started some of it could be water weight. However, if you lose more than 1% of your weight per week, it's also muscle you're losing-- which will affect your metabolism. Since I'm nursing a baby, I eat about 2200-2300 calories every day. I lose about 2.5 lbs. per week. It's difficult finding that balance to…

If it's something you do everyday, then just change your activity level. If it's something you do occasionally, the best way to check is a HRM. Or just list it under "cleaning, light, moderate effort."

If that person was bingeing at night, I could see there'd be a difference making a cut-off time. Personally, I tend to be a late night snacker. So I have to balance out my day if I'm going to eat like that-- you know, save up some calories for the evening.

LOL! That's a great NSV. Like someone said, it's those weird NSV's that make us notice the change sometimes.

You're on the right track to ask for ideas. I like to read other people's food diaries for ideas. I always keep lots of fresh fruit and veggies ready to snack. Celery washed and trimmed in a baggie or container in the fridge Plenty of crisp sweet apples like Gala or Fuji Bananas on the counter Bell peppers sometimes sliced…

I carry around my 8 month old in a backpack for a couple hours every day. 1 hour for the four older kids' swim lessons and sometimes another hour running errands so I can keep my hands free to hold onto the twins. Or I just wear her while washing dishes and doing laundry. I admit, I wonder about how many more calories I'm…

I had 7 kids in about 8 1/2 years. The oldest is now 9 1/2. So I know about emotional eating and late-night snacking and vegging. I save calories for this purpose. But I also like to remind myself that even though I want an ice cream, and cheetos, and a granola bar, and cookies, etc, I can pick one and save more for the…

That's awesome! And a boost to your self-esteem in a swimsuit too!

Good for you for menu planning! I eat healthier and save money when I plan my meals.

You look great! What a difference I see!

If you are listening to fat2fitradio you are on the right track. They repeat over and over why you need WAY more calories than the basic 1200 to keep your metabolism fired up and your body losing weight. Sure those people are dropping weight, but it's probably also muscle. Like you said. Not just fat. Personally, I want to…

This comment made me snort when I laughed. I didn't realize how many OCD traits I had until I read everyone else's. My closet is organized by type of clothing and in each type it's white on the left, then red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, gray, black. And after everything is hung up, the hangers are…

They are ready. I am not. lol I need to log off MFP and go assess what curriculum I still need, the outline for the semester, and set up workboxes.

LOL! One of my sisters did that once. I say it all the time to my hubby on the phone so I can see how easy it would be. Now one for me, it wasn't a phone call, it was an appointment with an O.T. for my son. While describing his Nystagmus to her, I accidentally called it "Genital Motor Nystagmus" instead of "Congenital…

What he said.

I'm so glad you joined! I have found a lot of encouragement and motivation through this site. I tell my sister that MFP and Fat2FitRadio are the perfect combination for weight loss. I listen to the podcasts to give me the knowledge and boost me on. I log on here and enter my foods to be accountable and the "friends"…

I use a 16 oz. jar that was originally from pasta sauce. I fill it to the top and drink as much as I can. When it's empty, I add 2 cups to my food diary and refill it. I try to drink 12+ glasses a day.

You look AMAZING!! And you made it before your goal. You rock!
