I've never done a juice fast. I loved that documentary. I think a juice fast is a great idea for cleansing and detoxing your body. I think anyone could benefit from a detoxing-- but 60 days is probably not for many people.

I need to lose 100 lbs. I am finding I have the most success when I prepare my environment for success. Remove the junk food and tempations and make sure there's healthy snacks available. As far as moving, get a workout buddy or even a walking buddy to keep you accountable. Good luck!

Ditto.

What are reverse crunches? I'm coming to accept that the c-section flap is not going to go away. It IS shrinking though. Since I"m purposely trying to lose weight s-l-o-w-l-y I think that's why I'm having luck with my skin elasticity. But that darn flap is another story! My (fraternal) twin boys are 2 years and were my…

Good for you! I have well-meaning relatives that like to feed me. And I like to eat. But I'm trying to be a healthier me and not eat just anything! I'm so proud of you!

2417 calories (that's including my 437 breastfeeding calories from nursing almost exclusively) My goal is to lose 1% of my weight per week-- as is recommended by Fat2Fitradio so I lose fat and NOT muscle. I also want to get down to my goal weight and not be restricted to 1200-1500 calories the rest of my life for…

I wish I could help. I'll say a prayer for him.

Everyone carries their weight differently. And remember, the camera adds 10 pounds. Kudos to her for doing it! I hope she did it slow and steady with clean eating and exercise instead of starving herself. I can't imagine trying to lose weight under the scrutiny of the public eye. The one time I weighed more than…

Wow. Seriously!

lol! If only it were that easy for me. The baker in me would want to whip up something anyway.

I am so glad to hear your dad is doing better! And you are so good to come back and try again! That's the first step. Look at it like a lifestyle change instead of a diet. Baby steps to better health. Healthier choices here and there. It's not about Loads of will-power to drop a bunch of weight fast. It's about fine-tuning…

I like mini goals because then I can reward myself when I reach them rather than waiting until the final goal. I also feel like I'm checking off the list and showing success!

Will-power gets you started but goals keep you going. I started with a goal to journal everything I ate for 100 days. No matter what I was going to journal it. I added on the goal to drink 10+ glasses of water a day and to eat my 5 a day of fruits and vegetables. I listen to Fat2Fit radio podcasts religiously. A very good…

I recommend Fat2Fitradio.com You can listen to their free Podcasts as well. Best advice anyone ever gave me was to listen to them and to record what I eat. So that's what I'm doing, and it's working. I think you're eating too little. You'll probably get that from Fat2Fit radio as well. You can also go to their site…

lol That's the problem at our base. People between sizes 2 and 5. Or at least that's what they are selling at their yard sales.

I realized my loose skin today in the Wal-Mart changing rooms. But I'd rather it be loose than filled with the fat it used to have. I need to find some of those control panels. That might help the unsightlyness of it under the shirt.

And another thought, you can add fresh spinach to so many things. I like to blend 2 cups of it with 3/4 c. orange juice and 1 banana for a low-cal smoothie (213 calories). I have a friend who chops up fresh spinach and puts it in homemade rolls. Yesterday I chopped up a cup and added it to my egg white omelet. I didn't…

Occasionally I add molasses to the twins' oatmeal to boost their iron and sweeten it at the same time. My oftentimes iron-deficient sister had recently learned about the good iron in molasses and passed that on to me. It's some strong tasting stuff though if you're not used to it. I agree with the post from killagb. Those…

Hooray for you! That's a great feeling.

LOL! Ahh, this gave me a good laugh.

Gracie- First I recommend you set some goals like on your profile. Ask yourself some questions. Why do I want to get in shape? What are my motivations? What are three little steps I can take to get me started in the right direction? You've already joined MFP. That's a step in the right direction. Now make some friends to…
