I'm not sure about how the sugar affects weigh ins, but I do go over in sugar as well and I don't think it has affected me. As far as eating back the exercise calories, I almost always do eat some of them back now, but for the first week or so I didn't. I just wanted to see how much I would lose without eating them back.…

You're off to a good start. I started jogging at a heavy weight as well. Make sure you have no underlying physical reasons not to jog. Have a physical and make sure your doctor says to go for it. Good luck on your journey! I agree that walking is a great place to start. Just try to get moving for 30-60 minutes a day. It doesn't all have to be at once!
