Hey thanks for the link. I was actually looking for Chipolte nutrition info. Good luck with the new job.

Wow choose2b!!!!! You look fabulous! Great work and very inspiring!

Daily check-in: LOL Smiles...sounds like we were both in the same mood today. I was feeling generally u-n-m-o-t-i-v-a-t-e-d!!! I've been off for a few days and have slipped into the bad habit of staying up late and sleeping in which is wrecking my days. It really screws my eating routine too. The last two days I have eaten…

Well I'm a guy but I am 5-8, 196 pounds and wear a size 34 (waist) pants. I did consult a clothing conversion conversion chart and discovered that to convert women sizes to men sizes, the rule is add 21 to the women size to get the size (waist) for men's pants. So for the sake of comparison with the other posters, I…

Great job Nadine on your workouts and congratulations on nailing the bouldering move!

Welcome to the site even though I'm not from the UK but Texas. Good luck with your endeavors. I've found the site incredibly helpful and hope you will as well.

Way to go Becky!!!! That is such an impressive accomplishment and I can imagine how pleased you were to hit such an important milestone. I wish you continued success!

I only managed 2715 this week. :( Had to miss one day of working out because of work and it has rained here the last three days and so I haven't been able to get in any hiking which is what really helped me hit the mark last week. Oh well, it is a new week and new opportunity to succeed! Lol

Hey Smiles, Actually you would be surprised I think to find that running in a race is not intimidating at all. For one thing you get caught up in the excitement of the thing and I think you actually draw off the energy of the other runners around you. I have always finsihed pretty well within my age group but never been in…

Not doing the couch to 5K but I am doing a similar 8-week progressive run/walk program that is on the Runner's World website. I am doing great with it and am starting the fifth week on Monday so I know that the run/walk thing does work. I have lost an additional 1 to 1.5 Lbs. a week from the extra calories burned from…

Good job! You are off to a great start!

My Daily Check-in: Despite the stiffness and soreness in my left ankle, with the Texas Health Presbyterian Foundation's 19th annual HeartBeat 5K race now looming on my horizon, I decided to start chipping away at those 5 extra days I need to cut from my run/walk program and so today I decided to skip the walk only day on…

That's wonderful! Oregon is a beautiful place to hike and hiking is one of my passions. It is also a great way to burn calories and a little more interesting than some of the other alternatives.

Yes, I personally wouldn't consider soreness as an indicator of workout effectiveness to be something I'd aspire for. With cardio it is relatively simple to gauge effectiveness by using a heart rate monitor and in some respects I think would also be useful for strength training too. But as pixiepandora mentioned, noticing…

This past week I have been thinking about what I wanted to do next after completing my RW 8-week program and am finally able to run for at least 30 minutes non-stop again and figured that I should start working up a 5K training plan pretty soon. As an incentive I was also thinking about doing an actual 5K race at the end…

Smiles, Actually while doing this run/walk program I have not been tracking distance or pace because since I am not running the entire time I think of those metrics to be somewhat irrelevant while I am just focusing on duration and calorie burn. During workdays due to time constraints, I do my workouts on a treadmill at my…

Yes, Smiles I certainly understand what you mean. I tend to get the same way once I am established in a fitness routine and am forced to miss a workout. It's almost the same for me as some smokers I've known when they have been forced to go without smoking. Lol I guess I get accustomed to the endorphins or something and…

My Daily Check-in: Completed D2W4 of my current 8-week program. Today was a walk only day but I might have jogged a couple of the laps around the fitness track. Lol I also did a few extra minutes over what was required. Getting the first 10 pounds behind me was a great motivator. Tomorrow it is back to run/walk. Hope…

Smiles – Great job on your run Tuesday! I think a 10 minute pace is more than respectable and glad you had such a great day for running! Karin – Thanks so much for the encouragement! I am sure the gardening is a great way to burn calories while enjoying something you like doing at the same time! The plan you mentioned…

These are my first before and after photos. The first two photos were taken when I started at MFP March 19, 2010 and weighed 206 pounds. The second two photos were taken today, April 15, 2010, after losing my first 10 pounds. I still have a lot of work to do and am only one third of the way towards my initial goal of…

My Daily Check-in: Yesterday I missed my first day of exercising since starting here at MFP. Life just got in the way and I couldn't squeeze it in. I didn't feel too terrible about it though since I have been consistent and hadn't actually taken any rest days the past three weeks even though there is a rest day built into…

Nadine, That's okay...my writing isn't that compelling a read. Lol Yep, I'm just starting week four tomorrow so not quite half way through yet but I'm getting there. Great workout for you today! I'm sure it was enjoyable. I love trail running or I use to love it and hope I will be loving it again soon. Yes, the MPF cardio…

I actually made the goal this week! 3,700 exercise calories at the end of today's workout! Tomorrow it is time to start all over. HaHa
-
Thanks Nadine for the kind words. I hope I do help inspire others here since everyone gives me great inspiration as well. As a runner in the past, I have pretty good self-discipline and don't usually have difficulty maintaining focus, but the encouragement of othes is always an appreciated motivational boost. My Daily…

Glad you joined us! I know it helps me stay consistent and provides me some accountability. :)

Welcome to mfp Rachel! That is fabulous that your husband is seeking to become more fit and will be participating with you. I can imagine that the mutual support will be most beneficial to you both! Good luck to you both with your goals. I'm confident you will find this site very helpful.

My Daily Check-in: Completed Day 5, Week 3 of my RW 8-week program with a 3 minute walking warm-up, alternating 6 min running with 1 min walking x4 and a 3 minute walking cool down. Torched 393 calories according to my HRM. Same workout on the schedule for tomorrow.

Well a 1/2 a pound is a 1/2 a pound so I think you did good! :)

I've heard six months and I've heard a year. But any spoilage issue would be the oil in it going rancid and I've been told when that happens it is very obvious because it will smell and taste bad. So chances are good you don't have to worry about getting sick from it because you will be able to tell if it shouldn't be used.
