Definitely don't exercise outdoors for a while if you live somewhere cold. Cold air is harsh on the lungs to begin with when exercising... feel better xx

Could you get a Fitbit? Try pacing about, and you will probably rack up more mileage than you think throughout the day/evening in its entirety. I am sorry your son is unwell. Best wishes to you both xx

For a quick, frozen dinner meal I'd suggest Amy's Light and Lean meals. None of the additives that Lean Cuisine uses, and Amy's meals (especially the Light and Lean ones) are chock full of vegetables and other whole food goodness. I really like the Asian Ginger Stir-fry one with rice noodles.

I REALLY notice a difference on the other hand. That I used to be treated very well by people (generally) and since getting fat I am generally treated like crap (doors slamming in my face, etc.).
