12 mile cutback today

Looking to run about 120-130 miles this month. Last month I ran 125.

Ah, yeah maybe if you're trying to run it in under an hour. I trained for both my halfs in the 20-25 mile week range. Even now training for my first full I'm barely breaking 30 mile weeks. To be fair, I am not fast and a completely average runner, so if you have a significant speed goal, then yes miles are king, but if…

Hanging in there - 8 miles on the dreadmill last night, 5 miles this morning.

Amen Sister! YOU are really the only person you can count on!

Another one "it just happened". I started running to shed those last few lbs and before I new it I wanted to see if I could run 3 miles straight, then 5, then a half mary, and now a full. Running has become such a part of me, a part of my identity that I think I'd be lost without it. It's my release, my me time, a place…

Wk 2 4, 8, 17 29 miles total! Been sick since last week and finally rested yesterday and called in sick today - first time in forever! Not sure what this means for this week, there's a lot of miles to be run left in my training...boo this blows. I know me too, I will be up tomorrow trying to get that run in...skip spin,…

Um maintaining! I've lost 120 lbs and maintaining it these last 18 months have been harder then any weight loss day, but good news, it gets easier with time!
-
I love distance so I would vote for the half marathon!
-
It depends on how much you have to lose. If you a lot to lose 50+ say, skies the limit do whatever you can handle. If you have say 20-50 lbs to lose then 500-1000 is your target. If you need to lose less than 10lbs then you're going to want to be in the 250-500 range. The best way I've found to do this is to set my cals at…

Hope I'm not to late! Count me in for 100+ in February. 30 miles so far in February (4 miles on 2/1, 6 miles on 2/3 and 20 miles on 2/5)

I get up EARLY 4AM 3xs a week and get it in before everyone is awake. Then 3xs a week hubby helps out so I can hit a class and get to the gym for strength training.

New Rules of Lifting is an AWESOME program (6 months). Strength training my ENTIRE body is critical for avoiding injury.

I need a lot more info to answer this. What's your weekly milage like now? I only peaked at the 1:45 plan and there's a decent amount of milage on it. Are you prepared/willing to do that kind of milage? If so, I'd totally go with the 1:45 plan, you already ran a 2:00 :)

Honestly just time and continue to foam roll. The onlything that has also really helped me is stretching AFTER my runs, yoga, strength training and avoiding hills at all costs.
-
Never, it's the only thing that has helped me maintain a loss of 120 lbs!

I'm training for LA in March, my first and loving it!
-
I'd go 20, 16, half, that's a pretty common stucture in most training programs I've seem. The only question is how hard do you run your half, and that's up to your body IMO. Of course you want to race well, however, you have a 20 the following week and your marathon performance probably means more to you, but a LSD 20 is…

Which on did you decide on? I'll be doing the SD RnR half, can't train for summer fulls due to heat where I live.

I NEVER wear underwear, so no I don't think they make a difference LOL!

http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/index.php/articlePages/article/2 Awesome article that explains some more interesting LSD facts.

I've been researching and trying to understand this as well, and all I understand thus far is that LSRs are to train your body to burn fat instead of carbs and you need them durning training because the recovery time is less and allows you to train hard on your other shorter runs. But yes, they scare me...I mean if I don't…

Awesome you guys! I'm super excited for both of you!

There was a whole article about this in Runner's World this month...unfortunely I only skimmed it, but I think the answer was YES workout!

Because I really like to keep my diet as clean as possible I loath coffee creamer, HOWEVER it's a habit, desire I cannot break. I started out needing 8 TBSPs in one LARGE cup. I've weaned myself down to 4, but that's a low as I'll go and I allow for the cals everyday because it's just my routine, the way I start my morning…

You aren't required to run the entire 26.2 miles, but I'm sure most of us hope to. My tentative plan is to walk at every third water station (they are every mile in LA) after about the halfway point. At both my half's I haven't walked at all and have run as many as 15 miles with no walking. I'd like to someday run a full…

For me it started as a weight loss tool and then became something so much more. Now it's part of my identitiy, it keeps me out of therapy, it's my hobby, it's my vacation desitination, it maintains my weight, it allows me to be a foodie when I want to be and it's my best friend sometimes. Running means so much to be I can…

Did you know that Splenda was discovered while scientist were working on a new rat poison? No joke.
