  • Keep it to one page. I just got out of CMA school and we spent a week making new resumes for a career that we haven't really started yet. We used a basic outline. Objective (job with new career) Summary of Qualification ( training from school) Education (College) Affiliation ( or Volunteer work) Experience Do a google…
  • I do the yoga on Netflicks. Ill have to check out what else they have.
  • My intake is 1500 cals a day. I try to eat 5 times a day - 300 cal per meals. The key is to start first thing in the am. Start looking at food diary's and get ideas on what a ex: 300 cal meal looks like. A few examples 1/2 cup Natural Oat Meal (150 cals) with 1/4 cup trail mix (120-180 cals) or raw Almonds Bagel Thins-…
  • I do boot camp 2 times a week ( we rotate arm, legs and core), rowing, running, walking, elliptical and weight training. I work out from 1-2 hrs, 5 days a week. I'm training for Tough Mudder in Sept so Im really trying to build my muscles and increase my endurance. I see the biggest burn on the elliptical ( level 17-18 ).…
  • My goal is to burn about 4000 cals per week. I have been averaging 4300 per week. I do work out a lot. I exercise 5-8 hrs per week. I read some where that it takes 3000 cal burned to loose 1 lb. I do know that the Dr.'s recommend 150 mins exercise per week regardless of cal burned. I think you are going a great job.
  • Do a search for coffee and log it with the closest meal (its about 5 cal per cup- black). I add sugar free creamer so its calories I like to keep track of. Just keep in mind to counter act your coffee with equal amounts of water. If you drink 2 cups of coffee then drink 2 extra cups of water. All milk, juice, soda and…
  • I joined a fitness challenge at my gym. Its for 10 weeks and we meet 2 times a week. I started my life style change with the new year and I was feeling tired and burnt out. I have to have a goal to keep me motivated. I singed up for Tough Mudder and I have 4 months to get in tip top shape. See is there are any mommy…
  • Get the plain Greek yogurt. It has less sugar per serving. Then add Crystal Light or any other no cal water stuff. Try adding a little at a time that way you don't over do it ( about half a pack). Greek yogurt is thinker and has a sour taste so it may not be for you. I love it with Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade.
  • I currently have 3 kidney stone in each side. I would eat your recommended carbs. Complex carbs are your # 1 source of energy. You should have about 6-7 oz of meat protein a day. With kidney issues you have to stay away form dark soda, drink lots of water and always always stay hydrated. I was able to see a dietitian…
  • Im doing the TM this Sept when it come to Nor Cal. We have a team of 20 and there are only 3 girls so far. Watch out I started training.
  • The more I read about Tough Mudder the more excited I get.
  • 1500 intake cals is a good goal if you want to loose 1 lb a week. Most dietitians will increase your cal intake once you start a regular exercise routine. I've been at 1500 for 4 months and I still loose weight. The key is to eat 5-300 cal meals and start first time in the am.
  • Here are a few more to add to the list. Do your exercise out side of the gym. Ex: Take a walk at a park, play sports with friends/kids or go for a hike Eat breakfast first thing in the am with your coffee Eat your veggies Use the slow cooker more to pre plan meals Take care of your self- indulge with a new hair cut or get…
  • Wow. You are way over thinking this. Your HRM should be used to track exercise only. If you wear it more then that you will get the wrong numbers. Your daily burned calories are for an normal resting day. Any thing extra like walking, running, exercising, dancing is considered above and beyond the already burned cals…
  • You don't have to do full sit ups to work out your abs. You have to find exercises that work out the sides, upper and lower stomach. There are a lot of machines or dvd to help you.
  • Dear PCOS, You SUCK! I have struggled with my self image and sex appeal for years. PCOS can be controlled by weight loss but PCOS makes it extremely hard to loos weight. It's a very frustrating cycle. PCOS common symptoms are: uncontrolled hormones, lack of cycle, heavy periods, weight gain or hard to loose weight, facial…
  • Thanks for sharing your story. Now that they have determined that you have some medical issues regarding weight and nutrition can you get your insurance to cover a dietitian? I have PCOS and Kidney issues so I was able to get a referral for more help with diet and exercise. You are taking the first step by accepting where…
  • What resistance levels were you on with the bike and treadmill? Your HRM should be more accurate because its based on your personal info. I can burn a lot in 30 mins on the treadmill but I do high levels. Same with the bike.
  • Most people plateau at a 10% loss. Every one is different but you'll know when you hit a plateau. Its pretty common to loose 5-10 lbs the first week or two. Its will slow down in week three. Welcome!
  • I eat a lot of homemade beans and grilled chicken. Burritos, omelets, or over a salad with fresh salsa. I try to use my crock pot to make big quality of food.
  • Do low levels on the cardio machines at a fast pace. Most of the thinning will come from weight loss. All of my weight goes straight to my hips and its the last area to see a change. My hips were over 48 inches back in Dec 2010 and now im at 42 inches. I like to lift weights, up the resistance levels and do tons on cardio.…
  • I also struggle with the dreaded saddle bags. My waist to my knees are my worst area. I have been able to make some progress in that area but its hard work. I do wall sits, tension band- side steps, lunges, bike, rowing, elliptical, and most of the leg weight machines. For me its a combination of loosing weight and…
  • Do a google search for recipes. I like to do rice and chicken with a homemade bean salad. Home cooked black beans , no salt and rice Grill your veggies and herbs together: green bell pepper, onions, garlic, lime juice, fresh cilantro, fresh oregano and grilled chicken.
  • I don't know much about the this kind of surgery, what are the food restriction? Have you asked your Dr for a list of allowed foods?
  • Did you take your measurements before you started working out? You have obviously lost inches but have you check your body fat % to see if its gone down? I was stuck at the same wt for 6 weeks. When I checked my body fat is was down 2% and I had lost inches. I asked around at my gym and was told by trainers that Im…
  • For fish and seafood's you can use basil, bay leaf, tarragon, lemon, lime, thyme , parsley, garlic, dill, chervil, fennel. I like to go hot & spicy with garlic and lime juice.
  • Can you make your food diary public? I would like to see what you are eating.
  • I was wondering the same things about the sugar. I see my dietitian next month and I was going to ask about what should be my goal. Im almost always over. One yogurt, a fruit, plus the random 1-2g sugars in foods and Im over. I have become more picky with my sugars. I try to keep my fruits low on the glycemic index (…
  • I always look. Its in my nature to be super nosy but I never say a word or give them a grade. It actually has a positive response for me. I look at what Im getting and I hope ppl will see that Im making healthy choices for my family because I care. Lead by example. Right? Im not perfect and you'll find chicken nuggets in…
  • You should eat more fiber and complex carbs. Your body gets energy from carbs (#1), followed by protein and last is fat. You body can't digest fiber so it acts as a waste collector as it travels through you. If you have insurance see if your DR is willing to give you a physical , get a referral to a dietitian. The you…
