  • As awful as it sounds..weigh yourself. I got off track and didn't get my head back in order until I weighed myself. So if you get off track..weigh yourself everyday until you get on track. For me it is a motivator.
  • Congrats you look great! Very pretty lady!
  • I would tell the manager of the gym and point "mr creepy" out to him. It's not good for business to have a "creepy mccreepster" bothering people who are trying to work out.
  • I eat "fairly healthily" now and I share your weakness for wine. It makes good food taste better!
  • I do a lot of different things to get my veggies in (including cooking them because I tend to like cooked veggies better than raw). I've dipped them in lowfat ranch, peanut butter, and hummus. I make a salad and use low-cal dressing on them and I've chopped them small and mixed them with tuna and low-cal dressing. I'm not…
  • I think if you feel good and not weak and can manage your runs you are doing fine. Your amount of activity sounds fine! Keep up the good work!
  • I drink plain black tea and it seems to satisfy me for awhile. I often stress eat at night when I'm studying. These past weeks I've been good at avoiding the overeating but bad at controlling the stress. It feels like my head is going to explode right now! :-( Good luck!
  • a packet of peanut butter (they sell them in those single serving packs or you can put a tablespoon or two in a small tupperware), 1 or 1/2 a bagel, a small carton of "shelf milk" (doesn't spoil), a piece of fruit, granola bars. Or a cheese, egg, and tomato sandwich. Make it up before you go, wrap it in foil and it should…
  • How are you doing with the pleurisy? I had a mild case for a couple of months and then it became really bad in July. Now 3 months later I don't have pain anymore but I find after having it I get winded even walking up stairs and I'm really winded running. I did a two-miler a full 2.5 minutes slower than I used to. My legs…
  • Stay off the sugar and eat more protein and complex carbs. Stay away from bread, crackers and concentrate on raw fruits, veggies, meat, eggs, cheese. You may have to go "cold turkey" if your cravings are that bad. Now I'm going to do a "do as I say, not as I do" but probably a good idea to stay away from diet soda too. I…
  • Dinner and supper are "sort of " interchangeable to me except supper is always a later meal. Dinner I think of as a mid-day to late afternoon meal and I think of supper as something later. This may be because Thanksgiving, Easter, Christmas, holiday meals are always called "dinner" and usually around 2p at my house. During…
  • Find a club or a group of people who do things besides drink and smoke dope. There is a whole world out there! Read, bicycle, volunteer work, school, part time job, hobby that has a club, "fun" classes (dancing, pottery, sewing, car repair!) , church groups, etc. I bet you could think of a whole lot more. I'm sure your old…
  • Keep up the exercise, eat healthy, and log everything you eat. Your weight gain may be due to water weight and/or working out. Make sure you drink 6-8 glasses of water a day. Hydrating will help you lose water weight. 3 weeks is way too short a time period to track progress. Weigh yourself once a week and log it but IGNORE…
  • congrats! Awesome job!
  • You look great and you should be really pleased with yourself. I don't have a lot of running advice..I'm in a different place. Limbs are fine but I still have pleurisy so I feel like I'm running on "half a lung". Sort of discouraging. What I can offer is that walking, pilates, and weight training are excellent ways to keep…
  • I haven't read it nor will I see the movie. Frankly reading about somebody's "great sex" sounds boring..I have other things to do!
  • I'd never heard of your syndrome so I googled it. This website seems to offer some good advice on it. I read that pateollofemoral pain syndrome is another name for your condition. http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/sport-injuries/knee-pain/patellofemoral-pain-syndrome
  • It happens. Focus on nutrition, cut out drinking for a while if you like to imbibe, make sure you get enough veggies, fruits, and protien. Go light on sweets. Drink a lot of water. Then start slow, run a couple of miles 4 times a week. Once you can do that for a month, find a training plan and stick to it. Don't worry…
  • Totally agree! I find raw veggies, boiled eggs, tuna, raw fruit nice and filling.
  • You are awesome! I love the picture of you and your kid in your old pants. What a truly lovely lady you are!
  • Before kids I used to laugh when I saw a toddler on a leash. I didn't use them for my kids but probably should have for my youngest. It would have saved me a lot of stress and counter intuitively given him more freedom. When I walked with him, I had either hold his hand tightly or keep him in the stroller because if I…
  • Yeah it's being in the zone! It's great. I also have moments of super conciousness..i.e. when I'm running on the bike path and notice all the little birdies, chipmunks, rabbits, and other critters. I sort of feel one with nature..corny I know but it's a great feeling! Enjoy your run! :-)
  • Only if the man is 1. Her Dad, 2. Her Brother, 3. Her Son, or 4. Gay. Other than that..she is doing something shady. Sorry for the bad news. Us ladies can be skanks sometimes.
  • Some people just can't help but be knuckleheads.
  • Yeah! Good for you!
  • Someday it will be a lot easier but you are in the process of undoing bad habits and replacing them with good habits..this is an exhausting process. Every time you get sick and tired of doing this, just think about the good you are doing for yourself and also your family (healthier mom = good thing!) God Bless and good…
  • You will pee more just generally when you drink more water but that is a good thing! peeing often = much more healthy!!! However generally your bladder calms down and you pee less often than when you first start. Ain't no tax on peeing so pee away! It's a free country! ;-0
  • I think do whatever works. When I first started I ate most of them back because frankly I felt weak and not real functional when I exercised on 1200 cals a day. Lately I think I can handle it better (and I have had to lighten up my exercise routine so I'm experimenting with mostly not eating them back.) Since its hard to…
