If it makes you feel better actually having a pear shape leaves you to a lot less health issues..women with an "apple" shape are more prone to heart disease, etc. If you keep eating right and exercising regulary you will be a lovely toned pear! I think all bodies that are healthy are lovely..whatever the shape! (I'm a pear…

Yeah I find it hard to believe you were gaining at 1750 a day? Are you very petite? 1200 and 1300 are for losing weight are roughly a pound a week (for women, most men will lose more on such low calorie intake). 1750 is like a maintenance diet. That's about what I should be eating if I'm relatively inactive once I make my…

Kick him to the curb. You sound like you have a lot on the ball..don't get bogged down with this millstone! Good luck!

PBJs! Before a marathon I always eat two. On heavy workout days I usually at least have 1 that day. Keeps me fueled!

What an inspiration you are and such a perfect advertisement for "slow and steady"! You were a lovely girl before and now you are just a stunner! Thanks for sharing your story!

Awesome progress. I've never stuck with it as long as you have but I do love it. It is a great burn!

I think you are right. I think the BMI is pretty crap when it comes to males and may be too generous when it comes to females. At 5'5" when I was 150 my BMI was 25..right at overweight. I would consider that fair. If I stayed at 150 I might be considered slightly overweight but still healthy. I do not think of a man who is…

You have a point. I always start out logging but sometimes when I slip, logging just seems like I'm punishing myself. I'm trying to eat better and live healthier but I'm definately not into the being good or bad thing. If I slip, I may be hindering my weight loss but I don't think it is anyone's concern but my own. Logging…

1. Great time for half! 2. I've done three marathons and about 10 or so halfs. I'm 48. To me a marathon is a whole another animal. Halfs take endurance but marathons take "gumption". I think if you are in shape you could do a relatively painless half but even in good shape running a marathon takes a lot out of you. That…

Eat good and healthy. My personal fav is peanut butter sandwiches. Load up on the Gatoraide and water. Being well hydrated will keep you moving fast. Good luck, I'm sure you will "knock it outta da park"!

I agree! A little fun-poking at oneself is okay once in a while, but it's good that we remind ourselves that being fit doesn't make you a "good person", being a "good person" makes you a "good person". Being fit just enables you to enjoy it more! Here's to our collective health whatever weight we decide is our healthy…

Rooting for you! I don't know if I could ever do it but you are inspiring me to cut back on my sugar and do more "raw".

You look great! I like your camo top!

Your cunning plan looks good! I'm in!

okay I'm in!

This sounds like a good plan for you!

I think the advice to only eat them if you are weak from hunger is good. Also if you eat them back (I do most always) try to limit it to half of your exercise calories (something I try to do but not always successfully). You want to diet in a sustainable way though. It's better to lose slowly in a way you can maintain then…

Don't do this! You are young and this could permanently damage your body. See your doctor and get on a sensible regimen. Stick to it. Get some counseling if you are binging and purging. Don't do it!

Yes Big Brother strikes again. "He" "thinks" you drink too much soda. Don't worry someday the revolution will come! ;-)

Hey if you need more exercise, come over to my house! ;-)

I drink Green Tea at work as a way to avoid worktime snacking and reduce the number of diet cokes I drink during the day. I haven't tried peppermint tea yet, it sounds good!

Hey first, thank you for your service! Second, I agree with advice to do longer runs to build up your endurance. I agree about the breaths and to relax. As for the strides I'm still struggling with that. Good luck on your run and relax! It sounds like you are getting close!
-
Awesome advice! I'm going to try it next time I feel the urge to binge..whether it's on 1 cupcake or a whole box of cookies! Thanks!

I hate the amount of time it takes. Hate might be the wrong word but training myself to allow time for a daily workout is hard. I know that it is good to take time out for your health but when you have a lot of pressing deadlines it can be a challenge.

Sounds like water weight gain. You know you will lose weight on Weight Watchers so stick to your current program of eating and finish the Insanity program. Water weight gain is the bain of my existence but you will lose it. Don't worry you are not gaining fat while doing insanity! You are building muscle. Also since you…

I would say, get some sleep, drink more water, make sure you are eating the right kinds of foods, and instead of doing a heavy workout do a nice long slow walk. It is a good rejuvenator. You may just be hitting the exercise intensely and need a "cool-down" day.

I am pathetic. Red wine and poptarts!

Counselors are great. Something you can do on your own is 1. Focus on a goal and take "baby steps" towards it. i.e. for your weight loss goal do one day at a time. 2. A lot of people with low self esteem are very self conscious and compare themselves to others all the time. Realize that other people have their faults and…
