  • Monday: 20 min TJ + 40 min Sculpt Tuesday: 40 min TJ + 20 min Yoga (lower body ) Wednesday: 40 min TJ + 20 min Abs Thursday: Nope, nada, zippo! Friday: 40 min TJ + 20 min Yoga Saturday: 40 min TJ I think I am going to shake it up a bit next week...seems I am very TJ heavy and even though I love the workout, variety is the…
  • Congrats on getting that workout in, I know how challenging that can be! I was able to do 40 min of TJ and the 20 min Ab workout this morning. Tomorrow will be challenging as I have a very early meeting that will go all day. It is hard for me to get a workout in during the evening hours, but at the very least I am going to…
  • It came yesterday and I have started it. It seems to read well, though it has not really 'grabbed' me yet (that has nothing to do with content and some to do with writing style). I am looking forward to getting into some of the later sections. I think it will be worth what I paid for it.

  • Update: Monday: 20 min TJ + 40 min Sculpt Tuesday: 40 min TJ + 20 min Yoga (lower body ) The 20 minute yoga was amazing! It surprised me, how NOT limber I am! LOL! Really looking forward to working on this new challenge to the body, and the mind. The breathing is a real challenge, too.
  • Sherrill: I hope you have such a wonderful time in Japan!!! Congrats on the size 8's :) I think your ideas and Fitn's are good for your recovery period, I hope that the surgery gives you the desired results! Fitn: Great job on your week! I am rooting for you, I know you have specific goals in mind for your upcoming…
  • Sounds like you had a good week :) I think an alarm might be a good idea, at least until you can create the habit of eating every three hours or so. I had a fairly good week, didn't hit 60 minutes every day, but did get the ST in for 40 minutes! Yoga dvd arrived, along with a new dance dvd, I am really looking forward to…
  • Gigi: I am glad you are enjoying TJ, it is the absolute best workout I have ever found! The fun factor is so important for me to stay engaged :) Fitn: I have no doubt you will be right back at it tomorrow! Sometimes I have to remind myself that a day off won't undo everything. Thank you for continuing the challenge, it…
  • Thank you for continuing the challenge, it really has helped me re-focus on the 'fitness' part of my journey. I am waiting on a Yoga dvd that I ordered specifically for the November challenge  I haven't done Yoga in years, really looking forward to getting back into it! So far this week: Tuesday: 20 min TJ, 20…
  • Fitn, congrats on the skinny jean success! As far as staying here or starting a new thread, I am easy (though not cheap, as the hubby reminds me, lol), so whatever works for you and all is good for me! Tony Robbins is an interesting person, I have read some of him many years ago. I agree with you that there are as many…
  • As long as this is not an every day occurrence, it really is not that hard to plan for. Remember, in all things practice moderation :flowerforyou: For special occasions, I give myself the day off and just don't worry about it. Mind you, I said 'day', not weekend, or week, lol! Generally, that means I will decrease my…
  • Some of you may be aware of Wendy Ida, but I only just 'found' her. She may be a tad over the top for some tastes, but I find her very inspiring. In fact, I just ordered her book today :) She is amazingly fit at 59. https://wendyida.com/about-wendy/

  • So glad to see everyone reaching, or reaching for, their goals! Sherril, congrats on the loss, so exciting when a plateau is broken! I finally had one of those, too :) Gigi, keep striving toward your goal and you will eventually get there. For me, making an adjustment to a slower rate of weight loss really made the…
  • Hi Keran, welcome aboard! Managed to mish mash 60 minutes this morning with a 20 min Turbo, 30 minute Muffin Top Meltdown (LMAO!) and 10 minutes of moderate Yoga-ish stretching. I am warming up for the November challenge, lol.
  • Sherrill: Wow! Way to go! Congrats on busting ye old plateau! :drinker: Fitn: I like your thoughts on the challenge for next month. The last two challenges have really gotten me to focus on the ST part of working out, and I am starting to see the results of that. Adding dedicated Yoga or some other type of…
  • Hi all! Sorry I have been MIA, it has been a weird few days. Fitn, glad to see you are pushing it! That bike ride sounds like it was a killer! Wow! Nice workout today, too. RE: Protein-mozzerella cheese sticks, almonds or pistachios, yogurt (greek is great for high protein/low calorie), deli meat like turkey is something I…
  • Fitn, how frustrating that must be. I know that when I started in March, I encountered major resistance from my body. It seemed that no matter what I did, I could NOT budge even a half pound. It took me four months to lose 10 pounds :grumble: A lot of that resistance, I think, comes from my 45 year old body. The metabolism…
  • Congratulations on making the choice to quit! I know how hard it is, I am three years smoke free. Best thing I ever did for myself. You have been given lots of very good tips, I can only add one more that was given to me; buy cinnamon sticks and chew on them. Not the candy, the actual cinnamon sticks from the spice aisle.…
  • Happy Wednesday! How is everyone doing? Gigi: Glad you have some energy back! Midweek check in: Monday: 40 minute TJ (cardio party 2) Tuesday: 20 minute TJ + 40 minute Turbo Sculpt Wednesday: 40 minute TJ (cardio party 2) + 20 minute Ab Jam Looks like I am running about 20 minutes short of goal, maybe I will break out the…
  • Sherrill; great job! I did get a workout on Saturday, but then the dang cold kicked my *kitten* again. Feeling better today, but no workout. Maybe this afternoon. Definitely will be back at it tomorrow. Wk 2: * 6 small meals throughout the day with lunch being the biggest meal. CHECK * 60 minutes of working out for 6 days…
  • YAY! Managed to get 40 minutes of turbo in! Still behind for the week, but I may be able to make it up tomorrow.
  • ARG!!! No time for a morning workout yesterday (OMG early/all day meeting!) too many people in my space last night, so decided to make yesterday my 'day off'. (though I did count the walking we did on a tour of a local lumber mill/forestry tour) So, this morning, I wake up completely congested  and completely…
  • I hope your trip is great! Sounds like fun, and sounds like you have a plan in hand  Congrats on the good eating days! I know what a great feeling that is! Glad to be of service, and hope I never sound preachy (my kids tell me I lecture at the drop of a hat :blushing: ) Today I did Cardio Party 2 and 10 minutes of…
  • Checking in! Got my 60 minutes today, YAY! 40 minutes of ST and 20 of Cardio, I figure I am ahead for the week now, lol! Fitn: For what it is worth, I don't really consider my snacks a meal, I just aim for 150-200 calories and try to get some fiber and protein in there. My meals I try to come in around 250-350. I also try…
  • I managed to snag a walk this evening, YAY! I got rained as a bonus, lol! Fitn: I know I have a rest day, I think I took it on Saturday, Sunday's exercise was completely accidental, I promise! I think you are doing a great job, keep it up! Your kettlebell workouts are very inspiring, you will get me to fling one of those…
  • Keep up the good work everyone! Sherrill, I am borrowing your summary check list! Wk 1: * 6 small meals throughout the day: CHECK! * 60 minutes of working out for 6 days of the week: ONLY 5/7 this week, the weekend proved challenging this week. * 20 minutes of strength training (ST) at least 3 times a week: Not quite. I am…
  • Good job on getting that workout in! I know how hard it can be to squeeze them in, especially in the evening. Not being familiar with your work space, is it possible to keep a few granola bars and maybe some low sugar hot chocolate on hand? Depending on the brands, those two items can equal 150-200 calories, which I find…
  • guessgigi: sounds like a good day, even with a pesky cold! Good job! I agree on mixing up the work outs. balston: I think you can jump right in! Welcome :flowerforyou: My day is going to be a challenge due to the dreaded out of town lunch meeting  Only had time for 30 minutes this morning, and probably won't get any…
  • Good job, Sherrill! I am loving the hula hoop. So much fun! Are you doing a program of some sort, or just hula-ing? Today I did 40 minutes of Turbo Jam (love that workout, it doesn't feel like a workout!) and 20 minutes of The Muffin Top Meltdown *giggle*. That workout is actually pretty intense (as well as a great deal at…
  • I did not get in my extra ST yesterday, too many people/distractions at home in the evenings. I really have to try to get my workouts in the morning as that is when I have the house mostly to myself. With the days getting shorter, it is going to become more challenging to sneak in a walk or run in the evenings, too. I…
  • Started the week with my favorite, Turbo Jam! The workout I chose has 40 minutes of cardio, 5 minutes of band work. My plan will be to do an additional 15 minutes of ST this evening.
