I have had the same habit of coming home from work and attacking the fridge! (My dad did the same thing when I was growing up, he died at 57 from tons of health problems) Even recently I found myself doing the same thing. I agree with the others who posted about having a snack before leaving work in the event that you're…

Wow! Congratulations!! Your hard work really paid off!

Pay the money for a quality heart rate monitor. It's the only way to accurately gauge your calories burned. I like any model from Polar. Before I got mine I was overestimating my burn and not getting results.

Seltzer water or club soda, with a pinch of ginger if you have it. That will help the queasiness. I crave carbs too, but find that really doesn't help. If it's not too hot where you are, I'd suggest a short walk. That will help, oddly enough! Sorry, hang in there!

Hi Ally! I'm in Dallas, so sort of close to you. At least closer than those in the UK and Australia! Where did you relocate from? -Corey

I did my first Warrior Dash last weekend. Even though I HATE running, I was more worried about the upper body stuff too, but it was a breeze if you're even reasonalby fit. (and I found out while I hate pavement/track running, I really enjoyed "trail" running.) I do agree with all the suggestions posted before mine as well,…

I'm going to run my Warrior Dash today, so you have to run too! Get moving!!

to the OP... tell that to the 49 lbs I've gotten rid of in the past 5 months. Get a new roommate instead of that toxic, hateful *****.

^^^Yup. this. just do it. kind of like working out...at first you loathe it, then you look forward to it and now I get cranky if I miss a day! oh...and porn. seriously.

All I read was "yogurt, SUGAR, SUGAR, apple, and a ton of SUGAR." that's why it's high in calories.

^^^This. Also, you can help your shins the next time you run by getting some sports tape (and sports wrap) which you should be able to find at your local drug store, and wrap it horizontally around your calf/shin area that gets sore. The pain is the muscle tissue tearing from the tendon and bone....the wrap will help…

Wow, girl. My heart certainly goes out to you. Your wounds and grief are so fresh...you must be in agony. I lost my step-mother and father to poor health as well (in 1996 and 1997, respectively). My father, was much like your mother....smoker, sedentary lifestyle, and my father had a very stressful job in addition to being…

^^^That's a fantastic idea! I'm already donating my old good clothes (tons of suits, dresses, skirts, shirts) to Dress for Success since I have many items that are barely worn or still have tags on them (I have a bit of a shopping problem). But I like the idea of helping the hungry and sponsoring someone else's gym…

When.... you would rather workout than go drink margaritas and eat chips & salsa on a gorgeous Spring day. hmmm, wait a minute! Maybe I can do both??

Well, I used to loathe cardio, but now that I'm in the habit and have gotten fitter, I don't hate it as much. And I do love strength training. You didn't mention how long you did the 6 Weeks to 100 Push-ups and stuff....and you're on Day 10 of the 30 DS....so maybe it's a matter of enjoying these things when you're…

^^ I love these ideas too! Also, since you mentioned frozen veggies, I love to make Cauliflower mashies with the frozen cauliflower. It's a recipe adapted from Atkins, but just as good as mashed potatoes or better!

Sorry but your Mom is a total b*tch.

Stop torturing yourself by competing with your friend. Her body is different from yours. Worry about your body, your education....you cannot control how much or how little weight your friend loses.

I'm a huge fan of P90X, and you may find that it works for you. However, after I started using my HRM and saw the differences in caloric burn, I started doing mostly cardio (spin, running, elliptical). I still do p90x a few times a week on ocassion to keep up the muscle I've built, but for me and my weight loss, I find the…

You have plenty of time, I think. I'm doing the N. TX one in mid-April. I'm a little nervous about some of the upper-body stuff though. I'm a first-time Warrior as well....any veterans have advice on training? Thanks!

Add me as well!

Although I have fallen into the trap of thinking like that, I've kept my sanity by reminding myself that I just want to be a "less fluffy" version of what I am now. I too used to be an athelete (competitive gymnast) and stuff like that....but I know that is unlikely to come back into my life! However, I have new goals to…

Well, what has been working for me is to eat my goal (net) calories of 1300 a day. If I work out and burn, for example, 600 calories doing Spin class, I will only add on half of those burned calories (in this case, an extra 300). But work-out or not, I never eat above 1600 calories a day....at least that's the goal. I hope…

wow! I forgot about this soup!! thanks for posting!

Hey there! Don't set yourself up for such a huge hurdle! I had a hard time with seeing the overwhelming number I need to see on the scale, so I made my goals smaller, much more likely attain. Others members have written similar things. Start with goals like 5 lbs to lose, or walking 2 blocks, or cutting back on your…

Face, boobs, and thighs. But seem to be keeping a firm grip on my arm and back fat. geez!

It's your skin producing histamine. The blood circulation increases and comes to the most upper layer of skin, which causes the itchiness. Lotion will help, but an emoilient product would be even better, especially if your legs are bare. I use lotion then smear on Aquaphor. But only on the fronts of my thighs....don't let…

Although I am a Christian, I color my hair, wear make-up, paint my nails and work-out all for vanity. I know that doesn't equate the more extreme and permanent nature of breast aug surgery. I had my first aug done to make me go from one breast being a B cup and the other a C cup, to both being DDs. I did tons of research,…

I am a big fan of P90X, but for the warm-ups there is good bit of running in place and jumping jacks. If you have the space, it's great for lunges. (not sure what climate you live in, but you could do the warm-up outside, then come back inside) I just bought some of those thick, foam "puzzle piece" looking mats that you…

It seems like this is more of a distraction/boredom issue. I would agree with the other poster about logging onto this website. I also follow a lot of fitness and weightloss Twitter feeds and they are constantly posting articles that are motivating, so I read that when I have the urge to do something/eat something that…
