Is p90X enough??

I have just started on MFP a few days ago. Reading in the forums, I have seen many people doing more that one type of exercise. Like p90x and zumba even on the same days. Or treadmilling/elliptical with the 30DS. Or 2 zumbas in one day. Is this what I should be doing? I started the p90X one week ago and let me tell you, I have muscles that are sore that I didn't even know I had. I just wonder if I should be doing more or should I do the 90 days and then add to it? Or add when I feel like doing more?

Doing P90X on its own should be enough. P90X is a pretty intense program and adding to it, especially if this is your first time, will just make you overtrain.
I now mix my P90X routines with other others ones (for example use different type of cardio for Kempo days) but I don't add to it. I am pretty exhausted by the end.
One of the P90X options is to do doubles, which basically adds additional workouts in the same day. If you do this or decide to add additional activities, you need to make sure you are eating enough calories (more than the 1800 recommended for some).0 -

When I first did P90X I just did that for the 90 days and then I started doing hybrids0

I think p90x is sufficient enough. To be honest, there is such a thing as too much exercise. You don't want to overtax your body or injure yourself.0

You are doing great! I would just let your body lead the way. If you feel like you want to do extra go for it. But in the beginning, for me, it was enough. Like one of the ladies said you should also take in the extra calories if you plan on doing more. Otherwise, just give yourself the opportunity to see results with just the minimum and work your way up. Either way you are on the right track! good luck0

I am at towards the end of p90x and i am tired and sore. I decided to go all out and do the doubles routine which means that there are certain days where I do an extra cardio workout. So far I am handling it, but I will stop if it gets too hard. I think it is important to just listen to your body. If you think you can do it, then try it and stop if it feels too tough. Good luck.0

I just posted almost this same question in the P90X forum. I am looking to add a little running after the first month (2-3 miles 3-4 times a week, on strength training days). I wouldn't hop into Doubles or anything. But you probably want to ease into this.0

I'm a huge fan of P90X, and you may find that it works for you. However, after I started using my HRM and saw the differences in caloric burn, I started doing mostly cardio (spin, running, elliptical).
I still do p90x a few times a week on ocassion to keep up the muscle I've built, but for me and my weight loss, I find the straight up cardio is more effective.
Good Luck!0
