  • have you tried a bulk food store? we have one around my area that has student discount days. you can get beans, grains (rice, barley, quinoa - all super healthy!) for cheap. also, im a student and sometimes when im really cutting costs, i grab canned veggies (just be sure to rinse really well!) and i thow them in stews or…
  • that is such a big deal!! running outside is super intimidating and no one can make you ready but you - and you did it! congrats and i hope it opens up a whole new world of running for you!
  • amazing work, thanks for posting!! you should feel great about your progress!
  • it's so hard, but a few months ago i had a busy work schedule and i started getting up suuuuper early to fit in a 30 min run in the morning. then i would get ready as quick as possible to get out the door on time. it sounds like you're increasing your stress and taking on too much, but once you've done it a few times you…
  • love it!! thanks for posting :D
  • thank you so much for posting this! i love seeing people's success from start to finish, but today i really needed to see some amazing short term success. you're amazing!!
  • omg, congratulations on your success!! hope you feel as great as you look!
  • bump. this makes me so happy!! :D
  • oooh maybe one of those spa eye masks to represent sleeping in and relaxing? with some spa stuff - like bubble bath and bath salts and creams? and you should attach a note to it, written in typical "mom" hand writing (or even better, NON-mom hand writing) explaining why you will be off school for the day! this sounds so…
  • this is my favourite!! i have a tv remote. typical fatty...
  • i love that you cut out the stress in your life, including people that stress you. i think sometimes we overlook the fact that giving so much to people who don't give back leaves very little energy or positivity to spend on ourselves. so happy to see you've been successful, and it's amazing that you and your girlfriend are…
  • i've seen every size of lady in a bikini and i think it's awesome. i've always been pretty confident about wearing two pieces, but a few years ago i was working at a financial company and on my lunch break i bough a new two piece with a little water skirt. i thought it was so cute and i whipped it out to show a (much older…
  • i drink tons of green tea. usually about three pots over the course of the day. i find it helps keep me hydrated, plus i know it has great antioxidents so i *feel* healthier. i find that it helps to supress hunger (not if you're actually super hungry, but if you are getting a bit peckish between meals it really helps!) and…
  • i love love love this post!! i think cooking is one of THE most important things we can do for ourselves, whether we're trying to lose weight, maintain, or every for the lucky few who are naturally fit. i totally agree with you that cooking and eating depend soooo much on your knowledge and your experience. when i was in…
  • you look so friggin cute!! love love love your shoesies!
  • i've been using egg creations recently and they're ok. i notice the difference without the yolk, but i just add hot sauce to give my scramblies some flavour!
  • i am SUCH a napper!! my body is so used to it, i just lie down in the afternoon and go right to sleep for exactly one hour. without my nap i get cranky. and if there are other people around, i insist THEY nap too! as if having a friend over is going to make me miss my nap.
  • I'm from Canada! and I also gained back a lot of what I had lost during Christmas. Add me, we can motivate each other!
  • hey, this happens to me all the time! i don't really know why, but i find that staying really well hydrated helps. i drink green tea or herbal teas to keep my hands/mouth occupied and it helps with hydration (i usually just make a small pot and drink a few cups over about an hour). also, if i have sugar and/or carbs, it…
  • 6 days a week is so amaaaaazing!! i totally fell off the wagon. i was eating everything and i didnt run for a whole week. but i am not giving up and ive committed myself to a whole week of running and designated this weekend a "healthy weekend". wish me luuuuck!!
  • wow, im so impressed!! you guys keep me motivated to keep going with my goal, when i would usually just lose interest and stop trying. and junk food is totally my downfall. im always proud of myself when i make it through the evening without going out for a treat of some kind.
  • hello new divas!! i had a bad exercise day yesterday (as in, i didn't go) because something came up and i had to drive my boyfriend to work which ate into an hour of my time in the am. then i had to get to school and i told myself i would run when i got back, but i never did!! i find that if i don't go right in the…
  • that's a good idea!! i ended up drinking 2 beers on saturday while i sat at home. i can't seem to get over the urge to binge on the weekend - if not on alcohol, then on food (to reward myself for not going out drinking! so dumb!) so hopefully i can be really good for the rest of the week and still lose something this week.…
  • i agree!! oh, and i have had so many days when i felt a sickness coming on and so i didnt work out. it may not be awesome for your weight loss, but you don't have time to get sick! my big goal for this week is to a) stay in on friday night so i can get out for a run on saturday morning and, b) avoid alcohol saturday…
  • good morning divas! today i ran 10 km for the second day in a row - something i have NEVER done before!! i'm exhausted and sore. but, just so you all know, i thought about stopping and walking after the seventh kilometer, then again after the 8th, and again after the 9th. but then i thought about how proud i would be to be…
  • hi divas!! i'm jessica and my goal is to lose ten pounds in the next 8 weeks. i have been using mfp (on and off :S) for a few months now and i just started weight watchers three weeks ago. i need to keep on track and avoid those "aw, f*** it" moments where i just drink an entire bottle of wine and eat everything i see. i'm…

  • aaaaahhhhH!!! this story kills me. i would feel EXACTLY the same way. i'm a diabetes researcher and the way our children eat right now is the most important step for ensuring they don't develop diabetes at the age of 30 (or younger!) i can't help you on the relationship thing. i don't know anything about having children,…
  • i've been struggling with this issue as well. one thing that i've considered (though i havent actually tried) is splitting the drinking calories over two days (since i'm usually doing my drinking late at night) so i eat less the day before and the day after to accomodate them.
