You have a welt? That's not shin splints.

A series of workout videos. You should have no trouble finding it searching the internet.

Definitely a unique issue but you're probably not alone on here. Good luck!

You'll probably find that temperature is the bigger issue than texture.

I just finished a ton of dental work myself (a crown was the tip of the iceburg). Oatmeal was a good breakfast option. Yogurt or low/non fat pudding cups. Mashed potatoes. The tough part is getting your protein. I found a nice, flaky fish (grilled) was easy to get down.

Thanks for the post, I have never subscribed to the water thing, even though so many people on here swear by it.

It would stand to reason that you do because your HR remains elevated for some time. I will have to leave my new HRM on for awhile after my next workout and see what it says until I am at or close to my resting HR.

Amen sister. Now that you have yourself convinced and motivated, can you work on me? lol

Welcome to the addiction that is MFP!

Try sprinkling some brown sugar, cinnamon, maybe a dash of chili powder...

Can you just wait until after your kids are in bed?

Welcome aboard!

By the way.... GO BLACKHAWKS lol

How about baked sweet potato fries?

Of course you agree with me - you're from Chicago and I grew up there LOL :drinker:

I just had to go look and see which posts you were talking about and I couldn't agree more. No need to get defensive or argumentative. You can disagree with someone without being over the top. Success here is what is most important.

Look at it this way... a lot of people subscribe to the theory that it's good for the body to take a break and recharge. If you were that "bad" during May, maybe your body will respond better when you get back on track in June.

I got a HRM just yesterday and have used it twice now. I posted yesterday on here about my experince at the gym and what HRM show v the machine. The elliptical was slightly high but not horrible.

I agree that a smoothie sounds like a good idea. You might also consider freezing certain fruits like grapes. Kill two birds with one stone.

Not to quibble with your math, but....

I'm such a juvenille, all I can think is that toot is my kids' word for farting. Congrats thought. Twenty pounds as a goal for a month is a real stretch.

Sorry, I skipped right over the temp and time, but would love to know if you did anything else to it

I would have never thought to use a tortilla for a pizza crust. I LOVE pizza and would love to have a low cal version I could make at home, but I can NEVER get homemade pizza crust right. How did you bake it i.e. what kind of pan, greased or not, temp, how long? Did you prebake the crust a little before the toppings?…

A great "aflredo for dummies" is a Kraft recipe that is quite simply a brick of cream cheese, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup butter or margerine, and 3/4 grated parmesan cheese. All of those things come in non-fat or reduced fat varieties. Not sure how low fat you need, but I swear by this recipe.

Just bought (today) the Polar FT7. I believe it meets all of your criteria.
-
As far as I know I did. I mean I followed the directions. The only thing I did not attempt to do was estimate my max HR, instead going with the default Polar would use for my weight, height and age. And I suppose you are right, only the elliptical had height as well as weight and age. I've heard others say they have had…
-
A physician I was talking to recently suggested interval training is best. Most ellipticals have programmed workouts in them involving interval training (with increased resistance) so I would try that.
-
I am getting the Polar FT7 based on many thing I have read on here (by getting I mean literally I am going tomorrow to buy it). If you search the posts for "heart rate monitor" you will see tons of posts, but there is a link out there to a very well written blog post about the science behind these things and which ones are…
