I'm 6'3, my girlfriend is 5'1, I hate when we go shopping and separate to look at something, I routinely can't find her over a display. I move to a common area so she can see me.

I take a class 2x weekly and love it. I made it through about 1/2 of the first class and wanted to throw up and die, but now, no problem. Take a rest day and go the 2nd time. The key is to pace yourself, not ready to jump off the bike, don't! Pedal faster during those periods, do whatever feels comfortable and don't worry…

It's not an easy journey, it will take time and a lot of effort. Changes will happen but you have to be prepared for many changes to your body. Never focus solely on the scale. I started at 318, which was not my highest but the first weight I recorded when I started to make my changes in Nov. of 2011, now at 202. So it can…

There is no real need or benefit from doing so unless you are an Olympic level athlete or training 16+ hours a day. Proper hydration is all you really need.

Thanks everyone. I have been having a rough day (stress at work) but this lifted me up. The last month I have really made an effort to walk more and workout doing something every day. The confidence I have now is higher than its been in awhile. I was not willing to post a picture a month ago, but my friends here have…

I always thought women wanted a big engagement ring? I'm confused :)
-
Thanks :) Yup, I am feeling really good. I am just 5 pounds from my lightest weight in 11 years!
-
Yes spending a lot of time on it but the support and friends are invaluable to me.

Co-workers that work different shifts or locations have noticed my loss. My immediate supervisor and his boss announced back in May they joined a gym, pretty sure they went less than 5 times combined, I'm sure they noticed me but they don't want to bring up their failure so they don't say anything. Honestly, I don't care…

Sounds like a lot more fun than the school I work for put together. Ours would rather throw people under the bus for entertainment!

It is a nice one from LL Bean, I certainly am not going to throw it out, something can probably done with it. I would rather not ever have to wear it again though, that I am certain of
-
Yeah, that would be great if I were like 20 years younger and wanted to be cool :)

I once ripped the crotch of my pants wide open while umpiring a Little League game....of 9 and 10 year old girls....in the first inning. Yeah, that made for a long, awkward day. Met a few mothers with safety pins though, actually wait, that was awkward too because one of them helped me get the hole closed.

Not a small feat at all, that's great. I had bought a pair of dress slacks a couple of years ago, they were too small for me when I first put them on. I grabbed them a couple of weeks ago and tried them on, they fit and had room in the waist. Nice job!

My workout shorts are very loose, like to the point of falling towards my ankles, I need new shorts before I go back to the gym when the weather gets cooler :)

I amazed myself the other day after working an overnight, overtime shift (I work 7-3 during the day normally) and didn't really sleep but after a short nap I walked for 60 minutes, I felt great after that!

Je parle un peu de francais! But I from Maine so we're almost neighbors and I love spending time in Quebec, the city and the surrounding areas.
-
That should feel good. I am 5 pounds from my first mini-goal. So close!

I am down 1.5 pounds this week. Was originally disappointed but my friends here have right my thinking! I posted about this in Success stories.
-
Exactly! Thank you!
-
Yes, exactly! I said that yesterday, too, it's a lifestyle change, a diet is really doomed to fail. So much easier to approach it as yes, I will have that, but just in a smaller portion.
-
I'm from Maine...that's in Canada according to a lot of people! Add me if you want, I love hockey :)

If I had a dollar for every calorie I consumed for every feeling I struggled with from 1993-2000, I'd be a billionaire! I have never been thin, I really don't know what I'd look like if I was but right now I am happier with myself than I have ever been.

Here I am the only guy in a thread of women again! Seriously though, nice job, looking good!

Police Dispatcher for a University Police Department. I love my job, helping people solve their problems and I work with a great bunch of people. I previously worked full time for a IT Help Desk, I loved it but got burned out way too quickly and ballooned to over 330 pounds Other than a few serious, memorable calls I can…

That's very cool! I have gotten a lot better at watching that show or Biggest Loser and not eating junk while watching it :) I didn't know people willingly admitted they were from Haverhill ;)
-
That is an awesome visual! Thank you :)
-
Yes and no. I look at my old FB pictures and know that's not the same guy that was there in those pictures, but at other times I still feel like the 330+ guy that I used to be. I can move faster and without having to catch my breath, my clothes are getting to big, I can see myself in the mirror getting smaller, people are…

Thanks, yes that is really hard but I am really tired of getting up, getting food and then feeling gross after eating it. I'm sure I will still face this, having by no means defeated it but I look forward to building on this experience and finding a more constructive outlet for my frustrations

I'm originally from Arlington. Moved to Maine 25 years ago though. Add me anyway!
