  • 35 minute mile Freestyle in the pool. Not my best time, but I did shave off nearly 5 minutes due to my competitive nature and the swimmer in the lane next to me! Did some curls and overhead press, tricep extensions, nothing special there.
  • Mine is berating me for the two cookies I had this morning. And the laziness of this weekend. Just gotta make it one meal at a time. I like what Elaine said!
  • I'm in physical therapy hoping to avoid this same surgery. It's frustrating that there's not much activity that I can do, especially run. (Never thought I'd miss running, but there you have it.) I'm trying so hard to maintain a low cal diet, but it's hard, especially during the holidays (ALL the cookies!). Keep your chin…
  • I agree with teeth brushing, and waiting. Mints or oranges seem to help me in a pinch (especially clemintines!). And the forums here are fantastic, especially the Success Stories! Feel free to add me!
  • The bear *MIGHT* just be in a bad mood. The bear's day could've just gone horribly wrong, and the bear might just need a glass of wine and a freaking hug. A nice dinner that the bear didn't have to run catch and disembowel, some juicy berries for dessert, and maybe a fun roll in the cave with another bear might help too.…
  • About half will be back on Jan 1... Sending a request, mostly for drunk stories.
  • I'm thankful for you, OP. So very, very thankful.
  • Try weighted pilates. There's a lot of floor work involved and you can modify standing exercises. I'm dealing with an impingement in my hip, so no running for me (just got released to use an eliptical!), and no lower body weight work - lunges, squats, all the fun stuff... Pilates has been great. I feel good leaving the…
  • Needed this today! Congratulations to all of you for all of your successes! I love that I can properly fit in the clothes I have already - no cutting or digging, and some are even too big. I love all the compliments I get. I love eating in control. I have always loved the gym, but not the nutrition side of weight loss, so…
  • I've turned stress eating into stress drinking water... I just don't keep food at my desk (except peanut butter), but we have an ice/water machine in my break room. It gives me several reasons to get up from my desk, stretch, and water never hurts! Just when you want to eat, have a full glass of water instead. The straw on…
  • Maybe instead of "tomorrow I'll start" how about, "If I still want that tomorrow, I'll have it then." I do this all the time. I want a day off from working out, so I'll say "I'll take tomorrow off" and work out today. Usually tomorrow comes and I want to work out! Or, since I have a huge sweet tooth, "I'll have a brownie…
  • My brother is participating... he's going to look like a gorilla. He has to shave body hair to wear clothes, dude's gonna look like a gorilla in 2 weeks. I told him he should get people to pledge $1 for every inch of beard and donate it to the ASPCA.
  • "Oh we didn't ask if you wanted to go out to eat/order in because we knew you were eating healthy" "This probably isn't in your diet..." How about I choose what I will/can, will not/cannot eat? Thanks...
  • Bumping to watch at home...
  • Had to remove the candy pile from my desk. It was out of hand.
  • Now I'm just hungry. Everything sounds good. Except coconut. It tastes like sunscreen smells. Except coconut rum. I'll do that.
  • http://www.sportandhealth.com/NewsArticle.aspx?id=10832 This might help. It suggests mixing it up: do weights first on heavy days, followed by cardio; Cardio first on light weight days. Do what feels good, always warm up, always cool down, stretch, hydrate, fuel your body, and most importantly, MOVE. Might not hurt to get…
  • Cardinals. ALL. THE. WAY. CardinalNation
  • Pineapple does it for me. I go through a whole pineapple a week, and love it. It's the only fruit that truely satisfies my sweet tooth, and although it's got plenty of sugar in it, it's also got fiber, vitamins, and other good stuff. (I say this as a box of Raisinets call my name louder and louder from my drawer...)
  • Bumping because cupcakes.
  • I usually log up to two days in advance during the work week. I tend to leave myself about 100 calories to play around with, so when unexpected treats or cravings come up I can have a little something more. I cook on Sundays (hard boiled eggs, chicken salad, stuff I don't mind eating leftover, cut up fruit, etc) and plan…
  • Any and everyone can add me! I WILL send you messages if you don't log in for a few days, beware!
  • This... LGB!
  • Only if what I ate wasn't worth it (as in, boring/gross/unsatisfying foods). Some things are totally worth the extra calories, and it's just a day. As long as most of your days are healthy, a bad day won't hurt anything. Especially beer. Beer makes me happy when I go over. :drinker:
  • As long as the bridal party isn't wearing that color, go for it. I showed up at a wedding (I thought the color was pink) in a short navy blue dress, brown shoes and a belt... and the bridesmaids walked out in nearly the same thing. It was odd.
  • Peanut butter does the trick for me. Kinda high in cals, but when I need it, it always comes through for me and gives me the energy I need to finish my work day as well as keep me awake for a work out. I keep a very large jar of it at my desk and a spoon close by
  • I know it's bad, but sometimes on my "hungry days" I'll have a diet soda to make my stomach feel full. The carbonation helps trick me into believing that I'm full. I know that diet soda is the devil and all, but it helps me. I also force myself to drink a full glass of water before I indulge in whatever treat I'm craving.…
  • Yes, we love to giggle over them with our friends while we're out having drinks socially, and the guy in said junk pic is at home taking pics of his junk. Alone. When he could be out having drinks with us, then showing us his junk in person. Vicious cycle.
