If she's looking for motivation, maybe direct her to the Success Stories on this site. It sure helps me when I'm in a slump! Maybe seeing how many people have done it, she'll find the confidence to get started. Motivation is usually a very personal thing though, so if and when she gets it, just support her. Leading by…

Definitely build up to it, and please be sure you're getting enough bone-health supplements either through your diet or with a multi vitamin. Specifically Vitamin D and Calcium. Then listen to your body, if it hurts, (not the good kind of hurt, like injury hurt) stop, get checked out. I learned the hard way!

My trainer makes everyone do as many up-downs as years the birthday person is old. Just do whatever it takes to make it a good day. It's nice to indulge, even if you indulge by working out :)

Not new, but would love new friends!

For the sake of vanity, why not try the FitBit One? It clips to your bra or pants pocket and is out of sight. I'm completely addicted to mine!

Get up at least once an hour and walk around your floor. I have a sit-stand desk so I can stand up, and do for the majority of the day. Beyond just getting you off your butt, it increases focus and productivity. Mine's from juststand.org, it might be worth the look for you!

Not new, but would love some accountabili-buddies ;) I don't think I really have a goal... just to take up less space...

In my case, vitamin D deficiency resulted in broken hip bones and edema at 30! ... now that I take a supplement (and try to get sunlight when it's not frigid!), my energy is up, my seasonal depression was basically absent, and my little patches of psoriasis have healed. Bones are getting stronger too. Be aware, you can get…

Ditto. High fiber stuff seems to help, so does water, and once in a while something carbonated if I'm trying to hold off (saving cals for later).

Just put Old Bay on everything.

Nah, I know exactly what the Lenten season is all about: I'm a Catholic school kid. Although now, as a non-practicing Catholic, I will admit to using Lent as a guide to self-betterment. This is a real challenge for me, something I haven't done before, and the constraints and boundaries that Lent provides is a guide. Also,…

Today, instead of sleeping in, I got up and went to the gym!

I've been flirting with the idea of making MFP friends again (2nd time around here), so here goes nothin! I don't have a specific goal in mind yet, except to feel better in my body. I box 5 days a week, love food... like really, really love food, and I'm a professional smart *kitten*. Add me?

I taught/coached swimming for a looooong time. You may want to ask your lifeguard to watch you, critique your technique (if the pool's not busy anyway) or probably any of your pool's staff. You might be able to get a one-off lesson for free or cheap. Other lap swimmers are pretty good resources too! Find someone doing what…

You got this! GO!

I'm a daily logger and fitbit user! Friend me!

One of my best friends just hit her 40 day mark, and the change is beautiful, incredible, she's just her now, which is such a great person to be. I can hardly wait to see how happy she'll be in a year. Congratulations, you've really hit a wonderful milestone.

Great Job!!!! You look fantastic!

I've had the FitBit One for 6 months now, and I LOVE it. Like you I'm getting over an injury (fractured hip) that put me on crutches for 10 weeks. Being able to get back up to my step and stairs goals was really fun for me. It encourages me to park further, take the extra steps, etc. I'm hoping my orthopedist releases me…

Just lost an hour.

I'd suggest you don't worry about it if you don't need to. Also go look at the Amazon reviews for Haribo Sugar-Free Gummy Bears. http://www.amazon.com/Haribo-Gummi-Bears-Sugar-Free/product-reviews/B000EVQWKC You'll never go sugar-free again.

Your island, your dibs. Just find lots and lots of cabana boys.

We may need multiple cabana boys with multiple talents, Angel. Consider all applications.

Can I go? My perfect life comes with a personal chef and someone to wash and dry my hair.
