Maybe try to recall some of the things you did in therapy, and modify them to use weight/resistance. This way you can try to build that range of motion a little at a time while adding strength. (I'm totally not a PT, but have been through a lot of it, and I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night...) Stretch, modify,…

I did the same thing last night. I managed to eat about 3/4 of a tub of frozen cool whip. I'm trying to kick some sugar habits as well, and having an awful time of it. Distraction seems to be my only hope right now. When I work out I don't crave it, when I am busy doing laundry, dishes, walking my dogs, I don't crave it.…

By the jar... (Then I save & wash the jar and use it to take salads to work in or to can my own sauces!)

Between the crutches and the cold, I guess I've got some cabin fever. I do keep active, but have been detered from walking since you can't really do that on the treadmill (indoors), and the air outside, well it hurts and it's not exactly strolling weather. I'm working on keeping my calories in check, trying to stick to…

Peanut butter is a great, nutrient rich, protien packed way to amp your calories. Plus it's cheap, and keeps very well.

You should be Netting 1200, so yes, eat back your exercise calories. Get a Heart Rate Monitor or Fitbit, they help track what you really do, as MFP over estimates calorie burn. Most people on here are going to tell you to eat more than 1200, but you'll figure out what your body needs. I find it beneficial to stick to a…

I wouldn't... substitute "bacon-like" items to satisfy my bacon love. No turkey bacon, fake-bacon, bacon flavoring. If it didn't come off of a pig, then IT'S NOT BACON.

Bumping for later! Also, chicken breast, salsa, water in a crock pot= awesome, super low fat/low sodium shredded chicken for tacos! (Can also be done in small portions in a sauce pot on the stove)

Soulard, St. Louis, MO representin! Anyone else got cabin fever?

I gave it up for Lent a few years back, and I'm still really good at not drinking on week nights. Worth it, even if it just saves you the money you'd have spent on booze!

Try the Sworkit app or Virtual Gym. Great variety of exercises! I like the stairs idea too!

I made vegetable beef soup this weekend, and it gets better by the day! I made my own beef broth, so I was able to control the sodium. Just used frozen veggies, some potatoes, onions, and garlic, and stew meat (cut the fat off and seared it in a little olive oil, added water and seasoning to that to create a broth). It's…

I only lift before 7. If you lift after you get bulky.

I look at before and afters, sleep in my gym clothes (or change into them as soon as I get home from work), on swim days I walk around in my swim suit to remind myself why I gotta get my fat *kitten* to the pool, and sometimes, I just do it. (que Nike swoosh) And sometimes, I just don't. (Which motivates me the next day,…

4 cups snow, 1 cup cream, some sugar, some vanilla, boom! Snow cream.

I have 2 that mean a lot to me. Both can be hidden when I want them to be, but I start missing the one on my foot in the winter. Face, knuckle, neck, and boobs... I don't care for these. I find tattoos intriging, and like to talk about them with their owners.

From a marketing and profit perspective, it's brilliant. Thing is, gyms don't make money on the people who actually use them, they make the money on the "resolutioners" who are convinced that they'll use it... tomorrow. They're banking on the idea that the majority of their members won't use the equipment, staff, classes,…

I have a One, and I love it! It challenges me to reach for my step goal, my climb goal, and my active minutes goal. I love it! It's also motivated me to get up and work out early so I not only meet, but exceed my step goals every day.

Bourbon. Neat.

I have the same problem... single, no kids, and all social activities revolve around food an alcohol, which I don't mind, it's just so many! One thing you could try to do is consolidate, as in have one dinner out with multiple friends vs. having several throughout the week. You get the same social interaction with less of…

My bad, but it's an awesome addition to the whiskey family.

The creepy one with the bells that sounds like doom. It's terrifying. Also Mariah Carey. And Chipmunks. And Paul McCartney. Also Buble. And all the rest of it.

It may help to take some ibuprophen 3x per day. That's what I do when tendonitis creeps in on my feet. It's also what the doctor prescribed the times I've been in for it. Also, if you are experiencing any tingling, numbness, or twitching in your hand, it may be nerve related. I had a compressed ulnar nerve in my elbow a…
