The Empress said it all! Patience for the compound effect to take place. Do another measurement session once you finish Surge. Have you taken any pictures yet? Front, back and side. You will see your body changing proportions (and even defying gravity!). I am glad to hear you liked the workout. I'm glad you are sticking to…

<3 :) We sure need to make a divorce party here! Breaking up with the scale was one of the best decisions I've ever made (that and lifting and realizing that eating more is the way to go)! this is an eye opener article about why the scale has got to go: http://eatmore2weighless.com/why-you-need-to-break-up-with-your-scale/…

@beverlyriley900 Thanks for asking about me! Just some busy days (I wish there were more hours in the day, this thing of getting older and having a small child around can definitely slow one down). @jerilynconn (love seeing your name here!) said it right, it's called body recomposition. Basically if you are patient you can…

I see some gains and PR's coming! The good thing is that since Surge is an endurance phase but still will push you to lift as heavy as you can for this phase, you cannot call it "cardio", so you will burn more during the workouts and still benefit from the afterburn! I'd sggest you to take pictures and measurements, you…

It's definitely up to you, how much time you have and what do you like to do. Cardio is not mandatory, but can be very helpful to manage stress and loosen up the body after a lifting day. For fat loss, a short HIIT session could be added in the end of your lifting session, once or twice a week (for a few weeks only). Some…

Welcome Kas and Amanda! First things first, go through the "New to EM2WL - Start Here" thread. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10430416/welcome-to-em2wl-start-here#latest Everything you need to start going through the process of getting your lufe back one meal at a time is there. Take your time, soak the…

Hello @jvezzsb01 ! The program you were doing seemed to be mixing different ranges within itself. I would suggest starting with an endurance phase to get your body going and ready for a Strenght phase. It will help you improve tendons and ligaments as well that will be a big change and nope, it won't be so easy. That would…

Ugh, Mary Ann, that sucks, what a week! Out of topic, but a good and cheap idea for the fleas is to mix vinegar with water in a spray bottle and spray the places where the cats like most. The smell goes away and so do the fleas.

Good to hear back from you and that you are having such a positive attitude, @intmas! The truth is that with 3 kids and working out, you are still below your TDEE with 1600-1700 calories. Energy burts are amazing, you do need those to keep up with life. Eats g more can be hard, physically and mentally. Keep increasing…

The "warm feeling" is one of the first signs that thinks are changing in your body. Yes, you will feel hungry and that's ok, that's perfectly normal. What's not ok is expecting not to feel hungry while under eating, that's not normal. WTG on upping the calories, keep up with the good work! Tereza Team EM2WL

<3 Huge difference, Mary Ann! From top to bottom! Arms, face, mid section, wow! And the best part of this all is that you are not depriving yourself, under eating or over exercising anymore. You are eating normally and that is the way to go! <3 Tereza Team EM2WL

Marissa, the TDEE calculatot is giving you an estimate of what you spend on a daily basis. Looks like the activity level that you are selecting is lower than what it is in reality, considering what your FB is giving you. Since you are still upping calories and trying to find your true TDEE, I'd lean towards the FB reading,…

@saranharm As someone who used to work and became a SAHM myself, I had my share of feeling guilty of spending money on myself. I still do sometimes and don't justify paying full price for things. I try to use money wisely and not be cheap, but I still have it in the back of my mind. Baby steps is the way to go. The idea of…

Welcome to EM2WL @notsosecretlytrans ! Good job on increasing calories and working your macros! You can definitely see lots of changes and improvement even if the scale doesn't move much. Feel free to ask questions and send us friend requests! Tereza Team EM2WL

@beverlyriley900 2 to 3x a weeks seems optimal, 20 minutes at a time, with a rest day in between. Just as any other muscles, they need rest to develop. And as much as we want them tight and toned, those are muscles we don't want to grow as much, lol. You could do a short cardio workout in between lifting days, 30 minutes.…

I justwant to say that it seems like a crazy idea to add calories in the beginning, but once you start eating them, lots of things change. Specially with nursing, you will need those calories. And eating more and keeping the same weight, woohoo! Tereza Team EM2WL

@saranharm I know those feelings too well, for many years I felt like I didn't need nice things, that it was vain and futile. But the truth is that we deserve to take care of ourselves. That will make us feel good and by feeling good about ourselves we can be better mothers, wives, friends, employees, bosses, you name it.…

@saranharm, keep the updates coming! Sometimes we may think that just because we don't see or show physical differences, nothing is happening. But as a matter of fact, we are changing through this process and once the mental changes happen, the physical ones will follow. One thing that is always good to keep in mind is…

Slowing down on the cardio as in a change of strategy is a great idea, but I'm not so sure about stopping everything at once instead of increasing calories. Are you afraid of increasing lbs? How about lifting? Is there any specific reason other than trying to slow down your activity level so you don't have to eat?…

The mentality switch that you made is amazing, huge! You did come a long way! I love the plans that you have and I am sure that you will reach your gial and go even farther. I can't wait to hear more about you accomplishments! Tereza Team EM2WL

The BMR (lowest number the calculator gives you) is the minimum amount of calories you would need just to breath if you were in a coma. You don't want to eat only that. So you need to be eating at your TDEE to maintain your weight, a little less to lose weight. In a reset you would increase your calories slowly until…

What is the weight in lbs you put in the calculator again? If you are already doing some sort of activity, you are not sedentary anymore, choose at least moderate level. The EM2WL books are ebooks, but you can definitely print them at home. Tereza Team EM2WL

Don't we all want answers and results yesterday?! But, that is not how it goes. Your feelings are perfectly normal. Good thing you are trusting the process and letting it take it's course. Good job in having a good time with your hubby yesterday. I love you mentality shift, what a huge NSV being able to move on and not…

In the beginning I was adding the calories to the fitbit reading. Then I just averaged it out and kept eating the same amount everyday, which basically would be eating my TDEE with the breastfeeding calories added. I always ate all the exercise back. If you factor your exercise on ypur TDEE and follos that value, you don't…
