I am not eating less calories. I cut the carbs in half and replaced them with fat. Butter, coconut oil, ghee, etc. If I were to lose weight on reduced calories, I would have lost it a long time back. My thyroid issues never allowed my weight to budge. Plus reduced calories doesn't warm you up does it? I specifically…

Thank you. I understand it now. I will shift more towards lifting than cardio so I don't have to deal with this issue. I guess I can do the cardio once or twice a week when I over-eat on the weekends :)

I understand that. It's just that I'm already struggling to eat more. Is it best to reduce exercise so I don't have to add on extra calories to eat? Or should I just deal with it and stuff myself silly?

bump. anyone?

Is there a reason why the scale has been set to TDEE - 15%? Do you advise against -20%?
-
Can someone clarify some things for me? My BMR is 1383 My TDEE is 1902 (lightly active 1-3hrs/week) If I do a 15% cut from my TDEE, I will eat 1617 calories per day and since TDEE means not eating my exercise calories back. BUT, if I burn more than 234 calories via exercise, I will need to eat back the extra calories to…

I was confused about this when I first joined so what I did is I set my goals first while putting in my exercise time 3x a week for 60 mins and checked the calories it told me I should consume. Then I set my exercise to none and checked my calories to consume and they were the same as with exercise. This means MFP does not…

Try adding the same amount of splenda in water and testing 2 hours later as a control. You can also try tea without any splenda and test 2 hours later as a control. Then you'll know which one's the positive and which one's the negative control :)

Thanks! I haven't been eating back my exercise calories and realized that this may be the reason I haven't been seeing the scale move. This means I would have been well below my BMR on exercise days. Fixing that starting today!

anybody??

Thanks a lot for your replies. I've realized I don't get a lot of veggies in, which is one of the reasons I've started having green smoothies every night. Also, part of my sugar also comes from milk. I like to drink a lot of milk and don't have a lot of calories or sugar to spare to drink it! I will give 30DS a try…

Thanks for reading what I wrote...

Is it OK to net less than 1200 calories per day? My numbers- BMR: 1274 Maintenance: 1656 Max exercise burn w/o eating back calories: 618 So if I eat 1274 and burn 618 (to get a max deficit of 1000) that would put my net at 656 calories. Is it okay to net less than 1200??

I have a 60% Fruit, 40% veggie 8oz smoothie for breakfast (i.e: Watermelon, Spinach, Kale) and a 60% veggie, 40% fruit 16oz smoothie for lunch. The same would be the case for dinner. I make all the smoothies myself with fresh fruits and vegetables in my vitamix blender.

Some people do it for 24hrs, others for 3-5 days. There are some people on this forum that are doing it for 30-60 days that really want a drastic change to their eating habits and overall lifestyle. It is supposed to give your body a surge of nutrients and train your brain to like vegetables. You can call it a cleanse…

Where are you getting all this data from? This is not a permanent life-long decision. I am training my body. My juice fasting=smoothies that blend the whole fruit/veggie in a vitamix. I am not losing anything from that. I am not doing it for weightloss, it is a benefit I don't mind getting. I feel energized and I can do my…

I am not feeling sick or hungry. It is a taste problem. I am actually pretty energized and feel really good. I am doing the juice fast for approximately 5 days after which I will decide whether I want to continue or not. I do eat right most of the time but feel like I don't get enough variation in veggies in everyday. I…

I don't see how you have answered any of my questions or given me any critical advice with a *facepalm*

Why even bother posting if you're not going to be helpful at all? Same with you merrillfoster.

Yes the soups would consist of veggies only. I just don't want to "mess up" the work my body is doing while on the fast by having soup or yogurt or milk so I want to make sure it would be okay to have these while on it. I just want something warm and non-sweet tasting so I can continue this fast without torturing myself.

I'm only having the green smoothie for a few days. It tastes terrible but I chug it down. I'm still working on making it taste better so I can sip it down lol

I haven't really used my diary since I eat a lot of Indian food and its very hard to find in the database and/or the calories are skewed so I just track my calories via excel. Alright it seems my dinner is pretty light (since I don't like to eat a large meal for dinner). I will add Greek yogurt, protein shakes or some…
