Polar products are water resistant for swimming. You're not supposed to press the buttons while submerged. Also, you are supposed to replace the rubber gasket when you replace the battery to ensure they continue to be water resistant.

There are plenty of good Vietnamese options that you could go for next time. They use tons of vegetables and lean meats in their cuisine. Next time try something noodle/rice free.

Basically it takes your daily calorie deficit or overage and then uses your *current* weight to show you what you might weigh if you ate exactly that many calories under or over for 5 weeks. And yeah, it can be totally off sometimes.

People always ask me if they are supposed to pronounce Hanna with an ah or an aa for the first a. I really don't care, but I pronouce it with the hard aa and they usually immediately start using the wrong one after I tell them that :P And nobody wants to spell Hanna without the damn 2nd h!

I really love http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/ She has two books out but almost all the recipes are also on the blog.

Most saute recipes call for something like 2 tbsp of oil. If you are using a non-stick pan, you only need about 1 tsp of oil or less. It's crazy how many calories that saves. Rocco Dispirito's Now Eat This books have a lot of recipes and tips for healthing up regular meals.

I can't believe nobody wanted to weigh in on this. I thought your question was super interesting so I did a bit of googling. This article explains afterburn the most completely with the most amount of actual scientific references: http://www.ideafit.com/fitness-library/exercise-after-burn-0 As far as I can tell, you…

Whenever I start a new workout I get ferociously hungry too. You've got to look for foods that are good calorie wise but also give you more of a satisfied feeling. I usually buy a whole bag of apples and hide anything I have that is chocolate.

You look awesome! It kind of makes you look younger and fresher.

I would say it could be either the oil or the antibiotic. You can develop allergies at any time in your life. Hives are more common with allergies to drugs, but you won't know for sure until you stop one.

If you are repeatedly eating the same things, you may be missing out on some vitamins and nutrients. I would get a good multivitamin supplement.

In most medications, the active and inert ingredients only add a trivial amount of calories unless it has real sugar or alcohol in it.

I have the same thing happen after working out. I've always felt it was due to inflammation in the muscles. Your body is going through a healing process where it directs a lot of blood cells to the muscles you've worked out so you're going to retain fluids.

Yeah, green tea is more vegetal and astringent than regular tea. I prefer mine more if it is brewed with a cooler temp of water. You really have to stop brewing it more quickly than black tea because it will get bitter quickly.

This happened to me when I moved away to college. It was a huge change and I like totally freaked out. At the time, I started just going to food service during meal time and trying to eat but still lost 10 lbs. Looking back at it, I know I was in a bad state mentally and I should have gone to the free student mental health…

So far out of all the yarns I've worked with, I'd have to say I love Handmaiden Sea Silk the best. Amazing color and shine. All of the handmaiden yarns look completely amazing. I have a way bigger list of despised yarns ;-)

If I start to see some wiggle there, I do some sets of tricep extensions to firm up the muscle there.

I gave up on trying to find a decent sports bra in local stores and ordered one from freshpair.com. I got a 40DDD soft cup style by Goddess and it never feels like I need a 2nd one. There's another underwear website where they do video bounce tests of their sports bras but I can't remember what it's called.

I've seen this happen to people after surgery. I know I had some problems with taste bud overgrowth after tonsillectomy. Yes, that can really happen. It could take a few weeks to get back to normal.

Also, just really realized that I need to update my Ravelry pic since weight loss, hair, and glasses changes!

Yay, so glad to have found the knitting group! My name is Hanna. I'm 28, married, with 2 cats, and live in Iowa. Lost my job at Borders in May since they went belly up and started to gain back weight that I had finally been starting to loose which is when I started on MFP. In between searching for decent employment, I am…

Popcorn is indeed considered a whole grain... the only thing that can make it bad is what you put on it.

I'm already doing my indoor workouts since our street is super windy. I alternate between using a Stamina Spacemate folding stepper and doing (usually) step aerobics with my Wii. I have a wii game called EA Sports Active 2 with a built in heart rate monitor. I can build a workout that is all step aerobics, but it has lots…

Have you tried different shoes? The reason I ask is because I got a pair of those 'fitness' shoes and was wearing them at work and got the worst bout of sciatica I had ever had. If you create instability at your foot, you can throw off the motion of your whole pelvis which can greatly irritate the sciatic nerve. This has…

Hey all! Anyone else in Des Moines? I guess since I went to ISU, I'm required to say: Go Cyclones! :P
