  • I lost 82# back in 2008 and kept it off until my mom passed in 2014 then my eldest brother 3 months later. So, 7 years. I went up and down these past years. Now I'm back on track and have taken off 35 of what I had gained back, back then. My goal now is just another 5#.
  • You are doing GREAT! It's a battle, if you let it be a battle. I don't mean to sound harsh, but I have learned over the years that I have to allow myself that cheat day (sometimes I have been known to have 2 cheat days).. Usually we go out for pizza and garlic bread with cheese once a week. I try to make my snacks fruit,…
  • First off, I am so sorry for your loss of your mom and then your brother. I lost my mom (to a massive heart attack), then eldest brother 4 months later to lung cancer from agent orange (from when he was in Vietnam). One of my oldest and dearest friends passed from pancreatic cancer..one of the worst kinds of cancer!! You…
  • I am in total agreement with AnnPT77 above. This is a very unhealthy and dangerous way to lose weight to become healthy, because you will probaby make yourself sick in the end and not become healthy. My first thought was "where's the protein"? Have you ever heard the saying "slow and steady wins the race"? For me, and…
  • Good for you taking control of your life! Too many people stay in abusive relationships out of fear. My granddaughter has been in one for the past 5 years. Not physical abuse, but mental. She's gained a lot of weight and now feels that nobody would want her. I want her to read your post. Congratulations to you on teh life…
  • You are truly an inspiration. I loved reading your post this morning! Here's to YOU!!
  • OMG YES! I can certainly see the difference! You have done a great job. I too still have an occasional treat, and like you, I log it. Here's to your continued journey!
  • No matter how you see it...I see your journey as a "success" story! Every step forward is a success. I wouldn't call how far you have come as anything other than that. Here's to many more successes!!
  • I may not know you Kevin, but I am really proud of you!
  • My sympathy on your loss. Never easy to lose those we love. I'm happy that you have found your way to a healthier lifestyle, that too isn't easy. What you have achieved thus far is amazing! With your mindset you will have no problem reaching your goal. I'm sure your dad is looking down at you and smiling :-)
  • Lrg box of Sugar free Chocolate Royal Jello pudding, mix in about a regular size container of cool whip free (yeah I know some people will jump on me about the additives), about 2 C. fat free milk. Blend pudding & milk then fold in Cool Whip. Freeze for awhile. I make a chocolate pudding pie out of this using low fat honey…
  • I do as baker834 said and I use grilled or baked when I look up foods in the data base.
  • I started the Slim-Fast Optima plan in Jan. 2008. I started walking everyday, increasing time and speed over time. I lost 82# by Sept of that same year. I had a lot of support from their dieticians and THEY DID help you with calorie and nutrient needs. They gave a lot of suggestions for meals and snacks. It wasn't just…
  • I did the Slim~Fast Optima Plan back in 2008. Lost 82# between Jan & Sept. Back then they gave you a lot more to eat and the support from the dieticians was fantastic! I had no problem with the shakes or meal bars, but with the options you had you didn't even have to use their products. Then it all changed. I was invited…
  • Congratulations on your dedication to your journey. You look AMAZING! Do you look in the mirror and wonder who that is looking back at you? I did when I dropped 82#. It's quite a transformation to be sure!!
  • Mine shows less miles and calories burned as well as some of the above.
  • michael1976 the more expensive tests are more involved. You can get the autosomal tests for as little as $59 & shipping on sale from a few different co's. For me it's to connect with family.
  • I have done both 23AndMe and MyHeritage. Every company tests different markers. I have heard good and bad about all of them, so am not recommending one over the other, but MyHeritage partners with FamilyTreeDNA, so I get more matches that way. I have connected with 2nd and 3rd cousins and that has helped me connect some…
  • I have a 5.8qt GoWiseUSA and love it from steaks to fries! I think it's healthier. You use a few spritzes of extra virgin olive oil (Evoo), just to brown things up because it cooks by air, as the name implies. You can make anything in it that you would deep fry, fry, bake, broil or grill. I make egg rolls and burritos in…

  • In Jan 2008 I started the Slim~Fast Optima program and did great! I lost 82# between then and Sept of that same year. Then they started making some really radical changes. Less food..Less help from the ONE dietician they had left (had 3 or 4 before that). You can use parts of their plan without even using their products.…
  • I'm north of Wausau. In AZ until winter is OVER!
  • You can preview a whole pile of workouts, including Leslie Sanson's, at collagevideo.com.
  • For something fun try Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home dvd's. I have been doing her walking workouts since 2008. She incorporates cardio and strength training.
  • I usually add some cinnamon, vanilla, sometimes allspice or nutmeg and maybe a little sliced up banana or blueberries. I don't think I have ever added butter to oatmeal. I do know others that do, though. I cook it with milk generally, and not water. Sometimes 1/2 of each. It's good made with almond milk.

  • I agree regarding eating less, but try to make what you eat more healthful, satisfying to taste and filling. Best wishes to you. I have back issues as well and have to be really careful. I walk and I do Leslie Sansone Walk at home workouts. Not for you right now, but maybe as the weight comes off. I did very little way…
  • Leslie Sansone Walk At Home.
  • OMG! That is FANTASTIC!!!!
  • After I lost 82# it took about a year to notice things tightening up. Even though I was already older at the time (53) I lost my belly and didn't end up with hanging skin except for my bat wings.
