Looking for any non surgical advice. I'm on a low carb diet n it combined with my workout r getting the results i want n need. Trouble is I've got some hanging skin around the middle. Any advice in tightening it that doesn't require surgery would be much appreciated.

    you have two options:

1.) wait it out and see how much your skin tightens up over time, with new muscle, etc.

    2.) skin removal surgery.

sorry, but if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. :(

No such thing. Time will heal this if you are young. If older, go get Spanx at the big stores in the mall so you can look better in dresses. A cheaper option would be a cheap corset type thing from walmart.

If you're not at goal weight yet, continuing loss may result in further improvement.

True loose skin falls in thin folds, like folds of medium weight fabric (like lightweight denim or thin corduroy, say). Thicker folds, like 1/2"+, may still have some subcutaneous fat conspiring with gravity to keep the skin stretched out.

If you are at goal weight, recomposition via strength training could have a similar result to more weight loss (slowly).

Yes, youth helps, but my (relatively minor) loose skin (the thin folds) has continued to shrink slowly over the year-plus I've been in maintenance . . . and I'm 61.

There's nothing magical you can do about loose skin. You grew it, and it's probably not going away easily unless you are fairly young. What you can do in some instances is build muscle underneath, continue to reduce body fat, and it'll look better overall. Otherwise it just takes a very very long time. I exfoliate several times a week with a good loofah on the areas that have extra skin. I also keep myself hydrated as much as I can by drinking somewhere in the tune of a gallon of plain water a day. But even in doing that for over two years now I'd say I look a bit better but the loose skin is still there. Your Mileage May Vary.

After I lost 82# it took about a year to notice things tightening up. Even though I was already older at the time (53) I lost my belly and didn't end up with hanging skin except for my bat wings.

I think it sometimes depends on how much weight you lose as well. Mine definitely looks better than it did, and I lost about 125lbs. I don't notice bat wings so much, but I carried most of that in my belly area. You also have to be willing to go a bit lower on the BMI scale. Right now I am probably about 5-7 lbs under what would be considered overweight for my height, but if I drop down another 10 lbs it's much less noticeable. I can compare pictures from last year when I was 10lbs lighter to this year after doing a long slow bulk and see the difference.
