I had LAP BAND Surgery in June of this year. I have had one fill to date but feel the need for another. I have lost over 70lbs since I began the process last April. 10 inches of my waist, I was 238 at my heaviest. My diabetes and sleep apnea are a thing of the past. I work out when I can and I log in everyday. MFP is a…

I plan on eating what I want as well. However, I will log my calories as this is a habit that I never want to give up. It pays off in the long run. Have a Great Thanksgiving. I am grateful for MFP!

The irst few weeks suck! It get's better and you will figure out what you can eat and what you can't. You will be thinner and happier. Give yourself time.

It is good to experiment with foods you like or crave to do without is not a good idea. I use Atkins Protein Bars of all varieties. I especially like their Chocolate Caramel Nut Roll. It tastes like a Baby Ruth but is much healthier in the long run. Makes a great Movie Snack. I may try your recipe. I would avoid the white…

Your not as fat as I was. I am 5'6 1/2 and weighed 236 at my heaviest. MFP and LAP Band Surgery have helped me lose 40lbs in the past 5 months. Exercise is helping as well. Im still only eating 1200 calories or less per day and this is working for me. I have gone from a size 48 waist to a 42 and am looking forward to my…

What was the SPF of the sunblock? How soon before going out in the sun did u apply it. Did you re-apply it every hour or so????

A serious sunburn will always peel. Sorry, but there is nothing u can do about it. Sounds like u had first degree burn. It wont scar. I wouldn't ever advise putting butter on a burn, That is definitely a no no! The best thing to put on it is aloe vera gel Not pleasant as it dries a little sticky at first, but it will…

No, I lost most before surgery, but quite a bit since. Haven't had my first fill yet. Still get hungry more than I want to.

Hi Lesley, Dealing with stress as a single parent of a child with health issues is tough. Trying to be healthy yourself is tougher still. However, the healthier you are the more available you will be to help with your child. We have a friend who's daughter has CF. She is getting ready to start college in September.... So,…

Welcome. MFP is a great place to lose weight and get support. Making up your mind to change is the beginning, then following up on your behavior and attitude

My optometrist had a heart attack awhile ago. He advised me to not eat any food that is white. Sounds strange but is probably true. I think as said above, you need to add in some strength training as muscle mass burns more calories than muscle loss. Good luck no matter what you do. The nice thing about MFP is that when in…

Losing weight is tough, quitting smoking is tougher. Hang in there!

I had the surgery two weeks ago as of today and I have no regrets. I understand the risks. I did it to get my diabetes and sleep apnea under control or be gone. I have already been able to stop injecting insulin since the surgery. That is a major victory. Hopefully we can keep each other on track. My weakness tends to be…

Congratulations. Keep it up!

Thanks for the reply. I have lost about 22 lbs since I began the LAP-BAND Process back in April.

Thanks for the reply. I am married to a Nurse. I will try the Kashi Go Lean after my appointment with my surgical team this coming Wednesday.

It is difficult but MFP really makes it easy. Make good food choices and it gets easier. You can eat a lot of raw vegetables. I really enjoyed, baby carrots, sliced green peppers and broccoli florets dipped in Lite Honey Mustard Dressing. All the effort is definitely worth it.

Seriously. Am I the only man who has had LAP_BAND Surgery? Come on guys, share!

Hi, I Just had LAP-BAND done a week ago and I recommend any of the Bariatric Procedures. Your right, they are not the final solution. However, they do force you to change you behavior or experience immediate consequences. It has been 10 days since my surgery and I feel pretty good. A little discomfort where the port is and…

Definitely an Endorphin Addict. What you are doing for exercise is fine. I never understood Ultra Marathoners, but to each their own.

Hi. My name is Paul and I am having LAP Band surgery on Monday. Im a little nervous about the procedure but I know all will be well. I also know and agree with pots that I have read that this is not a quick fix. It will take perseverance and determination to eat differently. I have lost a lot of weight over the course of…
