  • Take it from someone who passed a SMALL stone (According to the damn doctor) I considered it LARGE enough. that I'll never do that again if I don't have to. Smart aleck women will comment that passing a stone isn't anything like deliverying a child and I'll agree. Its worse. Women get Epidurals or go with Ceasarians to…
  • It is a Maine Phrase. It has been taken south by all the Massies that come up for the summer and then run south on I95 in the "Caah" the moment it gets cold in the fall. Born and raised in Maine. Thankfully, I've spent the last 22 out of the state earning a decent living for the family. Not much up there but Forests,…
  • America and England...A common culture divided by a common language. A few examples from my portion of the United States call Northern Maine in New England. "Upon awp a canne a beah four ma!" "Open up a can of beer for me" "Oh, that's a wicked good set of lights.." 'She is well endowed in the chest region..." And I am sure…
  • I've been wearing a Marine Corps High and Tight for the last 22 years (work related 1st USMC now US Army). Mostly salt and pepper now but the wife likes the length I leave on top although she always asks that I grow a goatee whenever I go on vacation. So does skin on the sides and a Norman style top count?
  • I enjoy finding good restaurants in out of the way places that don't charge an arm and a leg. I hate chefs who get so full of themselves and start cooking junk after they are "famous." But I also know I can cook healthier for myself in the long run. Its all a matter of finding the time to dedicate to healthy cooking. Bruce
  • That is hilarious!!!
  • Guilty on all counts. Death Penalty. A Parent's first thoughts throughout their life should be - "How do I protect my children and ensure they grow up within a loving environment." That woman never became a Mother and never went past her own selfish desires. A fitting punishment would be that she be duct-taped and thrown…
  • Well, My wife would have to admit, I'm probably the world's biggest MALE LESBIAN. She's told me a number of times when she is bringing me a cup of coffee at my workdesk to leave her bottom alone...I can't help it. Its in my blood, its not a choice but I am now hardwired to enjoy the vision of my wife bringing me coffee in…
  • What is available to you? And here is some running logic... The Treadmill is good if you think you might tire out and end up having to walk back to your car or front door. Nothing worse than pulling up lame and then having to walk back to your car limping... The Road is good if you think you might stop on a treadmill…
  • I made the following for the week: 7/7 Water 7/7 Daily Calorie Levels 4/7 Weights during the workouts 0 weight lost I've readjusted my calorie counts from an Active Lifestyle to a Sedentary Lifestyle (I'll be honest that I drive a desk here) and upped my plan weight loss to 1.5 lbs a week to force an adjustment to my…
  • 6 generations back...Little thing called Jacobite Rebellion pushed us over to the Colonies and then to what is came to be called the United States. My accent is not Scottish in anyway now but the history is back there. My wife has a Scotch-German background but we don't celebrate any clan history or events but glad to make…
  • I am agreeance with you. My Brother in Law when he was going through his divorce a few years ago lost like 50lbs doing exactly what you describe. Everyone has their preferred form of exercise. Bruce
  • I'm little bit on the crazy side but I enjoy my runs in the heat here in Afghanistan, Triple digit heat really helps with the sweat production. The key of course is water replacement after the run. Bruce
  • SW: 172 CW: 171 Goal: 160 No loss/ no gain. But still plugging at it. I'm shifting from Thursday weigh-ins to Mondays so didn't expect a major change from my last weigh in. Bruce
  • Camouflage uniform with a tan t-shirt with combat boots. Very tres chic for the boardwalks and fashion centers of Afghanistan... Bruce
  • Congratulations on all the efforts for both you and your brother! Bruce
  • White athletic tape for when I run past 10 miles. If I am running that far, I'm not concerned with looking GQ. God blessed me with a fur coat for the winters but the athletic tape holds well enough until hot water and soap hit the tape in the shower afterwards. Bruce
  • I like the idea of a few small pieces of candy to give a bit of a sugar rush to help get the last of a kick in for the end of a run. I've tried the energy gels and never really got a good feel in the stomach when I used them. Same with gatorade (straight or cut 50/50 with water) during a run. My stomach really does not…
  • Work-Related: Patton, Montgomery, Rommel: Masters of War - A story of the three greatest generals of the the greatest war. By Terry Brighton Personal: Creation by Gore Vidal When I have time, I plug away at both books. About 10 minutes each day. Bruce
  • Very picky about this subject. Prefer my wife's and the rest doesn't matter to me. I've read that implants will interfere with or prevent breast feeding for future children due to the restructuring of the milk ducts and tissues in the surgery. So my suggestion is that any prospective "enhancers" speak to their doctors…
  • Considering who my wife likes for movie actors: Harrison Ford - before the earring and man boobs appeared Brendan Fraser -circa The Mummy and before he gained 100 lbs like Val Kilmer. Which is about what I look like so I'm safe for the better half :)
  • I use an armband to hold my MP3 player on my off-arm so I can control the player with my dominant hand as I run. I also thread the earbuds up through my shirt sleeve and up the back side of my shirt to my ears. The excess cables tuck into the pouch on the armband and I can usually run several miles without losing an…
  • US Army Officer Been doing a job I love since 1989 Not quite ready to retire yet. But soon. Bruce
  • Aargh!!! Bringing history into this...You also almost whupped our heinies in 1812 (You did burn Washington DC after the Battle of Bladensburg!). Thankfully, Napoleon got your attention and gave us some briefing room to fight into a truce, which we in America call a win for our side although our biggest victory (Battle of…
  • I'm not a marathoner but I run 5-6 miles a day. Usually I get a hitch in my step around the 3 mile marker but it goes away after a while and I can go for a ways afterwards. I've got a couple of half-marathons under my belt and each time I was still going strong by the finish line after clearing that first hurdle. Bruce
  • When your shirt, shorts and socks are soaked and as you get done, your body is completely at the point of "What the hell did you do to me." Bruce
  • Be prepared for serious calorie burns once you start doing laps. My wife does swimming as her exercise and she beats my running for a good cardio burn nearly every time. Bruce

  • easier than all that. a boot heel. they lay 10,000 eggs at a time. THere will be a replacement spider out there if you smash this one. Bruce
  • Congratulations on the first step! We are looking forward to helping you progress as well. My wife and I are working out on MFP for our own personal weight loss plans as well. She'd probably be glad to friend you when she see this post as well. Bruce
