What do I do? 1. I acknowledge that I enjoyed a nice meal/snack/drink and had a great time. 2. I work out how much I was over and look at my average for the week. 3. If I'm significantly over then yes I try to balance it with a lighter day (or more) and increase my exercise till I get the weekly average down. If I'm still…

Seafood pizza. I see food and eat it!

Does anyone notice any knee discomfort during (or after) the program? How did you overcome it?
-
Thanks for that. I'm aiming for 1540 over the next couple weeks to see how I go. Dewgirl - might look into Bodybugg. Not sure what it is though (I know google...)

What is even more awesome than your weight loss is how positive you are becoming! So not only are you transforming your body to become a beautiful young woman but you also seem to be transforming your mental outlook and your life overall! You are getting stronger and wiser! How great is that?!!!

Gazz thats incredible! You look heaps better!
-
Man thats awesome. You look a different, younger bloke!

Ok, thanks everyone for your replies so far. I better correct my initial post and clarify a few points: 1. I am around 1.73 metres tall (which I think is around 5 foot 8). I used to weigh over 106 kgs. Now I am around 95kg. 2. My body fat percentage (according to my Tamika scale) has recently gone down from "obese" to…

Interesting. I think I lost the turkey plus 3 of the cheeses so far! I am trying to lose another turkey and a half at the least!

Thanks all for your responses. Seems to be a fair bit of controversy about the egg white vs egg yolk thing (particularly re what has the nutrients). Some interesting discussion there. I guess the one drawback of eggs is that they are perhaps not the best food for those with cholesterol problems but then again I read…

Hey Jose Way to Go Man :p Just kidding ... Um ok that doesn't sound right either. Seriously though, great post. You may be fat but thanks to c25 and your positive attitude you are getting fit. I firmly believe that - like you - having the right frame of mind is very important. I too have another 15 to 20 kilos that are…

Listen to your body. I would definitely go and get a medical check up done.

Sigh... I like everything. I think that's what got me into trouble in the first place! The only "normal" food I recall not liking (in my younger years) was (raw) tomato. Dunno why. Of course, I don't mind tomatoes now (perhaps aside from some of the tasteless supermarket varieties), fresh produce is the best! Ok ok, I'm…

I think you have probably got one of the largest fan clubs here too! Well done! Those arms look impressive too!

Ok, firstly don't think diet, think healthy eating. Secondly if you keep within your goal, there is no reason why you can't have some chocolate (in moderation) each day. You can even schedule a little bit more indulging once in a while when you get the hang of it. I have to admit though it's hard sometimes to stop with…

Ah I see. I guess I naturally do it. It makes sense to me to eat more on the day of (or better still the day before) more intense exercise. Once again not sure I would do better if more consistent. Another issue: is it better to zigzag on total or net calories? Food for thought.
-
Not sure what you mean by zigzagging but I have often varied my calories on a daily basis and am not afraid to go significantly over as long as my weekly average is not too far from goal. Has it worked for me? Sorry to be wishy-washy but yes and no. I still lose but seem to take ages to recover from my (usually…

Oh, I misread the topic. I thought it said "do your myfitnesspals work for you?" Then i was going to say, "no" and watch all my friends disappear! (I am just kidding right?!) In all seriousness, I have been logging continuously for around 4 months now and have achieved great results (11 kgs of weight loss but lots more…

Actually, I found that on days that I took vitamins, I ate less. Hmm, it must be all psychological!

Nice tips.

Thanks all, some good suggestions. Cschu544, believe it or not I think that I was told that I did partially tear the meniscus years ago playing touch footie - side step injury (ironically I have only recently start playing touch footie again socially) . I recall getting physio on it for a few months but was lucky in…

I found that as I lost weight and drank MORE water, my (er) pitstops became less frequent at night time. Having said that I personally try not to have too much water within an hour or two hour of sleeping (aside perhaps from half a glass) and definitely no coffee after 5pm helps.

Wow what an awesome thread! I've still got a long way to goal but feel I am on the way to success since I started logging with Mfp. Here's my tips; 1. When starting your journey, focus on small changes. Drink more water, start exercising by taking short walks. 2. As you do better (with your diet or exercise), challenge…

Wait till you are over 40! Seriously though, I have been feeling a lot younger lately. I don't think I have been as fit and active as I have been for quite some time.
-
Hi. Almost derailed my diet watching a lot of footy with friends at a club. Well done to the All Blacks (shame about the kiwis in the nrl though ;)
-
Welcome. You sound focussed and motivated. Well done. This site should help you hopefully lose even more AND then maintain your weight.
-
You sound like you have been through quite a lot. There is nothing in your confession that is disgusting. In fact its inspiring! You didn't give up, you fought! Your story is a reminder to all of us not to take our health for granted but to look after our bodies that God has given us as best as we can.

That's shocking. I guess if you could prove that the "before" shot was really the "after" shot, surely someone should be able to sue the company (perhaps even as a class action) for misleading or deceptive conduct (or whatever the relevant jurisdiction allowed). If they are going to be shonky in advertising, I guess they…
