Some awesome responses here. Keep them coming! Glad to see me in great company re longer term users! (Maybe us long term users should start a new group?) Some interesting observations: very pleased that (like me) it seems most if not all of you have not returned to your pre-mfp weight! Yay! In fact some of you have even…

@fangmouse I've been on Mfp for over 2 years now, lost weight, got fit. And I still have pies, wedges, crumble etc - in moderation of course. Never made me feel sick.

Feed the hunger. Healthy, nutritious wholesome foods. Examine why you are hungry? If its boredom then find an activity. If stress find something pleasurable to do (not eating). Take a walk.

Joined Mfp June 2011 and its now August 2013... Lost most of my weight in first 6 months and have been .. More or less .. Maintaining. (: Thing is: I've still got more to lose!!! :/

I significantly have reduced my intake of diet soda (or as known in Australia soft drinks) and yes it has made a difference. Im not sure whether its the fact that I now drink more water (or clear teas) but I have noticed (tmi warning) less urine flow issues and I feel better generally. More water has definitely made me…

Fitbit. If you get one you will be able to track how many steps (and hence how much incidental exercise) you are getting.

The person starting the thread has de-activated. But FWIW I believe that like any calorie target, it is easier to reach if you use exercise as well as eating less to get to goal. Having said all of that, I struggle to keep under 2000 calories personally...

Awesome commitment, tracking and results. I'm on about 700 days myself and similar to your chart lost most of the weight in the first six months (though unlike you still struggle to get to goal). I love the fact that Mfp does allow you to continue to monitor long term progress though I hate that the charts max out at a…

Like Shannon I have recently reached my 2 years on Mfp and whilst I too have achieved a great deal my results dont really compare. I for one have not yet reached goal (though I have still done well) and can barely run a 5k (no 10 miles for me!). Seriously though what I love about Shannons inspirational story is how the…

I. The Lotto numbers are... No seriously. The above ain't important. Number 1 would be value and enjoy the time with friends and family and other people who are no longer around. Fortunately I still have a few around now. Number 2 should have been a simple one to the old me in my 20s. You look great and are fit. Don't let…

And here I was thinking that 37mins was great. Lol.

Yes.

I like to do a "spike" day, i.e eating a lot more calories than usual at least once a week. Problem is: I sometimes get carried a way a little (such as last week) and have a little too many of these days lol

Ronatobe the plan sounds good. It also sounds depressing. Why? Well because we have a similar height but you weigh less than my goal weight! Ah well.

Some great responses above already. It does sound like you may have some depression issues so seeing a doctor about it may be a good start. Regarding still having a lack of energy, it does also come down with how you are losing weight. Personally I have found losing weight through diet helped. But moving more (yes,…

Here's a few of mine: 1. Cool pak air popped popcorn - comes in multipacks, very inexpensive and under 100 calories per serve. Awesome treat to take to the movies too. 2. Lipton Green Tea - only 2.4 calories - ok its a beverage but now we are going towards winter, its awesome for when you need to keep hydrated with…

At 19 (arguably even at 35), the world IS your oyster. Draw up your list of goals and aim high. Goal setting is the first thing to do. Also - as others have said - remember its not always about you accomplishing things for yourself but what you can accomplish for others.

According to my Fitbits premium statistics doing around 13,000 steps qualifies you for being in about the top 3 percent of fitbit users. So 30,000 steps would truly be elite. Are you sure that your average is correct? Every day? Agree with others it is not sedentary. Incidentally if you invest in a Fitbit (the Zip costs…

Hi. Live in Sydney myself. The Harbour Bridge climb might interest u and your husband if you are adventurous. Spectacular views of Sydney and get some exercise calories too. Other attractions include Taronga Zoo, Luna Park and of course catch an event at the Sydney Opera House.

Here are the tools that worked for me - purchased or acquired for free: ($ are Australian) - in the order of purchase 1. Treadmill - got me moving initially (though rarely use nowadays unless bad weather). Cost? $1200 2. Mfp - got me tracking food and exercise. Cost? Nothing (: 3. Barbells/dumbbells. Cost? Nothing - they…

I've often wondered this. I've worked out for myself that yes you can! And I'm in my mid 40s. I've added 0.5kg muscle whilst losing 4.5kg fat over the last 2 months or so according to my scales (which measures bf percentage) But have to qualify. I do eat more when strength training (aim for twice a week) and aim to eat…
