Thanks for coming back to share pictures, it looks like it was a lot of fun!

Your knees shouldn't go over your toes with correct form. I'm an ATG girl myself.

PR'd my linked double unders this morning--up to 37. Goal is 50!
-
Sounds like fun! I'd be using an ab mat for a pillow the later it got though.

She has a variety of tactics. Mine was something along the lines of telling me she's sorry to hear I'm addicted to CrossFit, and here's some links that may help me deal with my addiction. Very well-worded reply, btw.

I did Barbara today! Made it through 4 rounds in the 40 minute time cap. I rarely lay down right after a WOD...but I made one hell of a sweat angel today!
-
Btw, I got the same "addiction" message today too.

*standing ovation*

I knew exactly who this was in reference to as soon as I saw the thread title. I've yet to be "blessed" with a message from her.

I found I had great improvements to my running when I continued to lift (CrossFit) while training for my half-marathon. I had to scale back my frequency, but still cross-trained. Now that the race is over and my longer runs are done until fall (running in FL in the summer sucks), I'm focusing more on my strength training,…

Thanks for volunteering! People at my box did it last year, which is how I found out about it. There's a group of about 7 of us competing together which makes it less scary (maybe, I'm still terrified!).

Last night I PR'd my back squat by 25 pounds. Today I PR'd my hang clean too, by 7 pounds. Still have a lot of work to do though.

Under Armour here as well. I have the opposite problem in that I have a pretty small head (I can wear kid-sized hats!) so bands won't stay tight on my head. The UA ones have been great. I have one similar to the Sweaty Bands that I used for my half marathon in February (under my visor to keep the flyaways out of my face)…

Throw some facial cleansing wipes (whatever floats your boat, I've used plain old baby wipes before) in your gym bag to help you clean up before you get to the shower and you should be fine. My skin really flares up in the winter time (low humidity) and clears up in the summer (high humidity), but I've been gluten-free for…

For me, bad. Very, very, very bad. As in, spend half the day in the bathroom bad. Artificial sweeteners and I do not get along. Lemon, cucumber, berries...yes.
-
You look great and have a fabulous outlook on the whole healthy lifestyle process. Nice job!

I have mild scoliosis, so basically I'm just built a little crooked. I have some leg length discrepancy that gets better/worse depending on my muscle mobility. My sciatic will act up occasionally, but what I've done is use a lacrosse ball to help work out the muscles in that area. I lay down on the ground and put the ball…

I'll make smoothie packs with about a third of a banana, a half-3/4 cup frozen berries (whatever I have on hand, usually blueberries, cherries, cranberries, etc.), some spinach, kale, and a spoonful of avocado. I'll prep them on the weekend and keep them in the freezer for the week. I dump it in the blender, top it off…

PR'd my squat cleans and my deadlifts this week by 20 pounds each. When I started almost a year ago my hip mobility was so bad even doing squat cleans with a 35 pound bar almost made me cry. Now I'm doing double that amount.
-
Great update! I have to give up mad props to everyone who can WOD early in the morning. I've never been an early workout girl, unless it involves the pool.

Eating was hard for me too. Exercise is what saved me, really. I had a newborn, my family was 3000 miles away, and I was put through absolute hell. I started off by walking every time it got to be too much. I'd strap my DD in to her baby carrier and off we'd go. I actually lost most of my weight going through all of…

I was so bruised from a day of power/hang cleans that I had to wear scarves to work for the rest of the week so people didn't think I got beat up.
-
Fabulous job! You look great, and you can see how much more confident you are in your pictures. WTG!

Snatch is Paleo
-
I did a 30 day challenge--we went strict, so no natural sugars, super-dark chocolate, etc. I lost 5 pounds overall. -12 pounds fat. + 7 pounds muscle. -6 inches overall (waist, hips, thighs). I also CrossFit 3 times a week and run 1-2 times a week. I'm not as strict now, but still about 90/10. The food is fantastic, my…

FABULOUS. That is all.

I agree with the comment about cutting down to 3-4 runs a week and incorporating cross-training. I haven't done a full (yet) but in training for my last half I cross trained with CrossFit and saw some definite benefits from doing both. Good luck!
-
*standingovation* Well done.
-
If I'm training for a race--CF 2x a week, run 3x a week (one long run, 1 shorter run, 1 intervals run) If I'm training for competition or something else--CF 3x a week, run 1-2 times a week I love running, so I work it in according to what I'm training for.

My box used Fran as a benchmark WOD for our Paleo challenge. That means I did Fran about 4 weeks ago, and have to do her again next week. She's needy like that.
