My convincing to change was actually largely on my Grandpa. He was very important to me and we were very close. I lost him to an obesity related disease January 1st of 2012 and right then I knew I needed to change.

When I quit soda, I took a couple midol those first few days and started drinking sparkling water. I learned it wasn't the sweet that my body wanted, but the carbonation! My gym is my living room! So the most annoying person in my gym is Mom and the little brother! Mom making snide comments about the weight just dropping off her after her weight loss surgery, which I don't need! Brother making fat jokes. I think I need to find a new gym!

The nutritionist I see for the diabetes diagnosis said about 2000 but to lose weight to drop it a few hundred calories, so I normally eat around 1700.
