I"m not exactly a beginner, I started running in February and I'm training for a half marathon in November. I'm up to 6 miles now - yay! I would suggest using an app like Runkeeper to keep track or your miles and progress (there are other apps out there, but I like Runkeeper because it's free and works with my phone.) You…

Love it! This is my favorite quinoa salad recipe. Super easy and always a big hit at pot lucks. http://queenbeecoupons.com/2012/03/quinoa-salad-with-black-beans-corn-feta-and-lime-dressing/ I usually cook the quinoa in a rice cooker - just double the water. Enjoy!

I have no problem with any compliments that I receive. There are a lot of people that don't know exactly what to say, but just the fact that they notice and want to let you know that you are doing a good job makes me feel great. The other day - I had a guy in the kitchen at work (whom I barely know) tell say "you've lost…

Def add protein. I eat 2 eggs, 2 pieces of turkey bacon, half an avocado and some OJ - I don't get hungry until about noon. (but I still usually try to eat some greek yogurt around 10. Good luck! :)

That's wonderful! It always feels great to have people acknowledge your hard work. Especially medical professionals. Good work. By the way - I'm sorry about the sinus infection. They SUCK!

I frequently eat over 2200 - when I work out. I find I have more energy when I eat my workout calories.

Throw the scale away! If you can tell you're getting tone - what difference does it make what the scale says? Take measurements and use them to judge your progress. Good luck!

Me too - I increased my calories when I started running and lifting after a long inner debate. I was feeling tired all the time and my weight loss began to stall. It was the best decision I ever made. I feel so much better now and my weight loss has picked back up.

Add a slice of avocado to this and you have my breakfast :) I microwave the eggs in a large mug and it's perfectly english muffin size. YUM

You have come to the right place. This is a very supportive community. Make sure you surround yourself with supportive friends that can help you stay on track. Set you mind to this and it WILL happen. Best of luck! Feel free to add me if you want a friend.

I have a good friend that has issues with her thyroid and leptin levels. She has had great success doing this and also working on raising her cold tolerence. She has lost 25 lbs and has a lot more energy now.

If it's something I REALLY want, I'll have a small piece and log it. More often than not, people are trying to pressure me into it - in that case, I usually make a joke of it and say, "No thanks, I'm trying to quit" I find that gets the point across without offending anyone.

I'm right there with you! I always found the 1200 calorie limit hard to sustain. I am currently eating 1600 a day + exercise calories and feeling GREAT! I have been gradually increasing the calories and tracking the progress so that I can get a better handle on how my body processes food. I would encourage anyone trying to…
