  • No offense taken, man. I agree with a lot of what you have to say. I like learning about other fitness programs, nutrition, kinesiology et. . I'm a career student in that regard! BUT, most people, (including me sometimes), just want to be spoon fed things without really having to understand the "why" and "how". Especially…

  • Well, I'm 45 in two weeks and I'm in better shape now than I have ever been. Benefits are short term only if physical activity ceases, regardless of the program you do. Just because I like these programs, does not mean that I do not live a healthy lifestyle. I never get hurt because I stay fit and I have variety in my…

  • I've done many of these programs, including Insanity. I can only speak for myself that X2 got me fitter than I have ever been in my life. It is not a sale pitch - it works. There is an investment in equipment, unless a local gym may have it. I bought my stuff cheaper locally than I could have from them. I have not done…

  • Good luck, Man!

  • There are four basic components of fitness: 1. Muscular Strength 2. Muscular Endurance 3. Cardiovascular fitness 4. Flexibility/mobility A program which address all would be ideal. IMHO, you should not skip resistance training. Don't be embarassed. Eveyone started somewhere. Good luck! Joe
  • A great program for athletic performance is P90X2.

  • Too much of anything can be bad. There have actually been cases of people dying from drinking too much water.
  • Like I said, Shakeology for me, I didn't say for you or anyone else. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'd really like to see a better one. It's not cheap, true, but you get what you pay for.
  • Shakeology for me! Every morning for beakfast following my workout.
  • Hi Hokiegal78, Are you a coach youself or are you looking for some help with something? Joe
  • I agree. I have been using MFP for a while, but only recently did I get into the forums. I've never seem so many rude people. Most are great, but it is that few than can leave a poor impression.
  • 1:Cardiovascular fitness 2: Muscular strength 3: Muscular endurance 4:Flexibility To be truly "fit", a program that addresses all of the four components of fitness is desirable.. IMHO.
  • Me too. Beer, chips and a Blizzard. Nothing but Shakeology for me today.
  • I'm doing P90X2 and starting phase 2 on Monday. It looks like this: Monday - Chest - Back & Balance Tuesday - Plyocide Wednesday - Recovery & Mobility Thursday - X2 Shoulders & Arms Friday - Yoga Saturday - Base & Back Sunday - Rest or Recovery & Mobility
  • Check out the vegan Shakeology. I'm not sure if it will work for you or not, but it might.
  • I like Shakeology. It's not the cheapest, but there's lots of good stuff in it. You get what you pay for. Good luck!
  • Shakeology may be an option as well.
  • Sounds like you're well on your way. Watch your calroie intake though. It sounds kinda low for all the work you're doing. Make sure your calroies are "good" calories too. Good luck! Joe
  • Congrats with starting Insanity. I did a round of it earlier this year. Its a tough program. I would stick with the meal plan as much as I could. As for a protein shake, I like Shakeology. Its not cheap, but you get much more than in a standard shake. Good luck! Joe
  • You can do it.

  • Exercise is never a waste of time IMHO. It's sure beats doing NOTHING! Good job! Joe
  • Love the energy! And it's contagious!!
  • You do have time to make meals. Everyone does most of the time. That sounds like an excuse to eat junk, like the candy you mentioned. I sometimes have worked as many as 12 days in a row, I have a wife, a small child and I work out six days a week and I find the time. Eating 1 or 2 times a day is not good. Eat three times a…
  • Try to get most if not all of your carbs from veggies, then you don't have to worry about counting them.IMHO.

  • I workout in the morning and I have Shakeology for breakfast right after.
  • Did Body Beast last fall. Gained almost 10lbs in just over three months. Bulking or mass building really isn't my thing. I'm more into general fitness, but it worked! Good luck! Joe

  • I don't eat an hour before working out. Best to have your protein as soon as possible after the workout. Joe
  • Isn't stopping to get a drink and watching the video the same thing as pausing? You still "paused", you just didn't stop the DVD. Just asking. I've only done Insanity one time; I'm much more into the P90X series. But I may try Insanity again and I wouldn't mind getting some info myself from people like you who may have…
  • Bang on!!
  • I will contact her and see if I can get the info.
