Ask you doctor. Seeking advice like this on message boards is not a good idea. The way to lose weight is through diet anyway. Exercise will do little to help you lose weight if you have poor nutrition. Diet and exercise work hand in hand. Good luck.

Pull-ups are tough, that's for sure. One method is to use a chair. You can keep the chair close and put one foot on it. This will take some of your body weight out of the equation. As you get stronger, move the chair further away, this will put less body weight into the equation. Keep doing this until you can do them…

If you're looking to lose some fat while gaining muscle, you may want to reduce your cardio down to 2 days a week or so and concentrate on the resistance training. Some may tell you to cut it altogether. I personally like to do three resistance training days per week, two cardio sessions per week plus at least one yoga…

Great Post. Check out this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POdzasJklxw

I agree with pretty much everyone as well. Both have benefits and using both would be ideal, but if cash is an issue, there's certainly nothing wrong with doing body weight exercises. I do them all the time. One great thing about body weight exercise is that it can help you make smart nutrition choices - you know that…

I'll send you a video overview.

I don't know your current level of fitness, but P90X2 works core and balance non-stop.

Body Beast is a good program. I did it last year and I'm planning another round.

It's never a good idea to ask for medical advice on message boards. You don't really know anything about the people who respond, even though they may be well intentioned. You should see a doctor. I hope you feel better soon. Joe

I've also done several rounds of P90X and also P90X Plus and P90X2. I also used to go to the gym and I was just as comitted to that, but did not see the results I got from P90X. When I went to the gym, I just pumped iron. Didn't do any cardio, yoga or stretching. I got a bit bigger and stronger, but I didn't get "fit" like…

This. I've done both as well. This poster to right on. Both are great programs.

True. You can't out exercise a poor diet.

If you read further, instead of writing a post accusing me of being an slick salesperson and an idiot, you would have realized that diet was discussed. Very mature....

The article if from a weekly Beachbody Newsletter written by Steve Edwards. As stated in the title, "Interesting Article" so no one should think that I was passing someone else's work or opinion off as my own.

This sure is exercise. I've worked in the woods, dug potatoes - by hand - and now I'm a tactical officer which requires me to carry about 45lbs of gear - rifle, pistol several spare mags and body armor. I wear this equipment all day, walking hallways and stairs - I don't take elevators. In training, we typically are…

You know what exercise is. There are no short cuts. If you want to change to happen, then you have to do "something". Don't log something as exercise just to make yourself feel like you've accomplished something when you really haven't. You'll be cheating yourself. If you new to this, that's OK. Start with walking -…

Hi There, I have done both and both are great programs. I prefer the P90X program. I find it a more well rounded program with resistance training, cardio and yoga. Insanity is almost pure cardio with the exception of a few push-ups. Good luck!
-
True. That does not mean do nothing. It means "active recovery", like doing some yoga, running, anything different. That not only gives your body a chance to recover, it helps keep you from getting bored by doing the same old thing over and over and can also help to prevent injury.
-
Sounds like P90X2 would be good for you. Very core oriented and lots of plyo for leg development. You can message me if you would like more info. I've done three rounds of X2 and loved it. Good luck! Joe

Working out a home can offer great benefits. I do the P90X programs, mostly at home. Really, all you need are some dumbells or resistance bands - dumbells will get better results but the bands will work to start. As for weight training, it has great benefits for you. If that's all you like doing, then that's fine. However,…

I don't use them, but my wife does for 10 MInute Trainer. Beachbody sells a device that hooks to your door. It's like 10 bucks or so. You might be able to find something similar locally.

Your program should have arrived with a nutrition plan complete with recipes. Take a look throught it. There are some very tasty and nutritious meals laid out in it.
-
Good advice. Maybe try something less intense. Insanity is an extreme program and very tough. I did it last year and found it very challenging and I've been working out with Beachbody programs for years. Make sure that you eat right too. 70% of you results are directly attributed to what you eat. Eat to exercise - don't…

P90X is a great program.

I would recommend doing at least three weeks of phase1, but if you think your core is ready then go for it. I didn't mind X2 yoga, but I prefer X1 yoga, I just shorten it a bit. I also did not care all that much for foam rolling at first, but I have to admit that it does make me feel looser and helps with the aches and…

No. Phase 2 is more like P90X, but the moves are done from unstable positions - swiss ball and med balls. Phase three - PAP - is athletic training. Cutting edge athletic fitness and nothing like the original P90X. Did you get the instructional guide with your package? Everything should be explained there.
