Progress, but still not where I want to be

So I'm 5' 8" and currently around 126lbs. Since about two months ago I've lost 2 inches from my waist and have noticed a slimmer look in general. I do an hour of cardio and an hour of weights 5-6 times a week but I've noticed my butt has gotten smaller (not what I wanted). I'm pretty sure my butt is my first place to gain and last place to lose weight (makes sense since its been the same size up until now). So now I don't know whether I should continue what I'm doing and lose more fat, or start lifting more weights. I do want to lose some more fat, but gain or at least maintain any muscle I have. I eat about 1400-1700 calories a day, including exercise. Am I doing something wrong?

If you're looking to lose some fat while gaining muscle, you may want to reduce your cardio down to 2 days a week or so and concentrate on the resistance training.
Some may tell you to cut it altogether.
I personally like to do three resistance training days per week, two cardio sessions per week plus at least one yoga session.

As for progress, here's a good quote I saw on FB they other day:

"Some quit due to slow progress, never grasping the fact that slow progress IS progress"

    Good luck!!
