P90X uses only dumbbells or even bands if you want. Body Beast uses mostly dumbbells and had dumbbell modifications for barbell moves. I'm sure there are other programs out there as well. Please let me know if you would like more information. Good luck! Joe

Hi, I am a "coach". The P90X nutritrion plan is a good one if followed. The above poster is right, you don't have to follow it, but it worked for me. As a matter of fact, I found it to be almost more than I could eat.

I cheat sometimes too. Last Friday night was a train wreck. But I eat clean 80-90% of the time which is achievable for me. If you can do 80% clean, you're doin' OK.

I hate that word too. Some also think that just because they can eat crap and lose weight that they are getting healthy. Not necessarily true. Some people can eat chips all day and be skinny, but are they healthy? Doubt it.

Hi, What type of training are you interested in? Pure cardio, weights, a variety??? Most high intensity cardio programs that I am aware of require at least some jumping.

Machines have their place, but generally speaking, free weights, and dumbbells especially, will offer more benefits. They require you to use more muscles to keep the weight stable as it is lifted through the range of motion.
