  • Mine is me at age 7. It's one of the only pictures that I like of myself.
  • Crys32, although you are quite often under your "calorie" goal for the day, you are more often over your "fat" intake for the day. I see that as a huge problem. I know everyone is on the "no processed food" kick, but that doesn't always have to be the case. I eat processed foods and I still average about 2 lbs a week, as…
  • I had a pair of cargo pants from Old Navy that were given to me (size 18) that I was using as my goal item. I recently met that goal, and now I want to buy a pair of size 14 jeans as my new goal item. But in all honesty, any clothing item that I can wear that isn't found in a plus size store or section of a store would be…
  • I cannot say enough good things about Turbo Fire. I'm two weeks from finishing the Advanced DVDs and I'm down 50lbs. I followed the schedule exactly, however I didn't take a day off like it suggested, I just inserted an extra class of my choosing. Instead, I'd go strong for weeks at a time and then take a week off. Almost…
  • I agree with everyone on here. It's a really tough work out. And make sure you protect your knees. I have the DVDs, but haven't started them yet. I want to finish Turbo Fire first. Turbo Fire includes a lot of plyometrics, similar to what Insanity uses. Although Insanity takes it to an insane level. LOL Will you look like…
  • Since my weight loss started by accident, it's that loss that motivated me to put some effort into it. What has kept me at it is finding exercise/workouts that I loved doing. Shockingly it was a workout dvd and the schedule that came with it. Knowing what I had to do every morning gave me something to look forward to.…
  • Hi Amanda, Germantown, MD here. Welcome!! Vanessa
  • I too have missed a few weigh in's. But only because their hasn't been much to report. I'm finally losing again and checkin in at 259.4. I haven't been below 260 in 10 years. Major milestone for me. :-)
  • I just started the advanced dvds today. Whoa mama!!
  • My husband has them. He says they are bulky and take getting used to. I use them sometimes as well. They are bigger than normal dumbells of course, but they are compact in the scope of having a full range of weights in one dumbell; and, selecting your weight is easy. He has the heavier weights, up to 90lbs. I can't say if…
  • I'm doing Turbo Fire and don't follow their diet plan and I'm still losing. I follow MFPs suggested calorie goal and that's good enough for me. No complaints.
  • I lived in Maryland, just outside the DC line at the time. I was at home getting ready for work. Running late as usual. I had the tv on Good Morning America and they were discussing a fire at one of the towers. They were saying a plane had flown into it. But they were reporting it as a small plane and were thinking that…
  • I'm on my 9th week of Turbo Fire and I'm still in love with it. I've never done Turbo Jam because I need something fast paced and high intensity to keep me interested. But on days I don't feel like going high intensity, I just follow the low impact person, Allee.
  • I just completed the 2nd phase of Turbo Fire. I absolutely love it because of the fast pace. The pace doesn't allow me the time to think of how hard it is. LOL. I have insanity too, but that one scares me. I'm going to give it a try after Turbo Fire.
  • School picture when I was 7 years old. LOL Ya gotta love the 70s.
  • Actually since joining I'm down 23 lbs. I had lost 9 lbs before joining, but wanted to see my full progress in my ticker. :-) But if you log in every day and track your food and exercise, there's no reason why you wouldn't have the same success. Feel free to add me as a friend.
  • Thanks, Nessy! Looks great! I'm 5'4 btw. Also, I do my weigh in Mondays, so my check-ins will be a few days late or early, however you want to look at it.. Today's weigh-in has me at 267.4. Down about 4lbs.
  • This topic is right on time. I'm proud that I've upped my intensity level on my Turbo Fire workouts this morning and was able to keep up. I normally would follow the low impact way, too afraid to push myself. I found that it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. I thought my heart was gonna bust through my chest,…
  • start: 289 current: 271 mini goal: 250 goal: 199* just to be out of the 200s. ultimate goal: 185 HW was 299 a couple of months before MFP.
  • 1. When you have two or more tabs/windows open. One for your MFP timeline and the other on the MFP Message boards. Constantly refreshing. 2. Looking up the calories of food in the MFP database BEFORE you go out to eat. I'm always planning what I'm going to order so that I don't go over my quotas for the day. My hubby hates…
  • It isn't officially summer until Big Brother comes on! The first time around, I hated J&J and loved Brenchal. This time around I LIKE J&J and can't wait for Brenchal to get what they deserve. Rachel's behavior this time around is unacceptable. I would prefer if Dom stuck around and won the whole thing. Probably not gonna…

  • I'm the odd gal out for the first weigh in. I'm +1 this time around. My first time without a loss since I've started this journey. Wasn't happy about it, but understood how it happened. I'm at 271. I was so hoping to finally get into the 260s. Looks like it'll have to wait until the next weigh in. Other Vanessa
  • I absolutely LOVE cruising. I'm going on my 4th cruise in about 3 weeks. I too was worried about what I was going to do for weight loss during that week, even though I'm familiar with the cuisine and the gym on this particular ship. It still scares me because right now I'm doing a workout DVD program (Turbo Fire) and don't…
  • I tried SC for the first time about a week ago and fell in love. While I was eating it, I kept looking at the nutritional info because I couldn't believe what I was eating was "diet" food. LOL I had the strawberry shortcake ice cream cup and the other day I had the caramel cone ice cream cup. Both rich and creamy like real…
  • Hi everyone, I'm Vanessa, 40 y.o., Germantown, MD. I'm an IT Specialist in the Fed. Govt (desk job). My goal is to lose at least 50 lbs at this time and then I'll set a new goal for myself once it's achieved. I'm a wife of 7 years in August with a 16 y.o. step-daughter who lives with us. I'll be adding you all as friends…
  • I may be over the limit of people permitted to join this challenge, but I'm putting in my bid anyway.

  • @Flwrsme, how's the konjac root working for you?
  • I don't know if this topic is open to everyone to post their accomplishments or not, but I just completed week 4 of Turbo Fire myself. I'm down about 15 lbs and 4 inches (I only measure one arm, thigh and calf, plus chest, hips and waist). I was expecting more inches, but I'm happy with the weight loss. Now entering the…
