When I was losing my initial 89 pounds, I hit three major plateaus. All three times, what got me off that plateau was increasing my calorie intake.

hershey's kisses. 2-3 would have been okay and not a waste. But I ate more than I should have and it just wasn't worth it.

I don't pay too much attention to sodium levels. I do try to avoid overly processed foods, in part due to their sodium content, but those have OUTRAGEOUS amounts of sodium. On a daily basis? I don't think much about sodium at all.

Instead of using the 4 hours you were on the course, I'd estimate how much of that 4 hours was actually spent walking or swinging a club.

I do this. And have for several years. It's a HUGE hep - nutritionally, logistically, financially. In fact, I just posted a new thread with my meal plan for the week.

I dont' think they're advertising or flaunting it, or even think an ED is cool -- I think they have no idea they *have* an ED. They see themselves as fat, and think they're ugly, and think they need to weigh significantly less to be "normal" or attractive. That's the definition of an ED.

Look into using energy gels or beans partway through your workouts. Particularly on runs 6+ miles.

1. I don't often buy them stuff that is unhealthy for me. They eat what I eat. 2. When I do buy them snacks or treats that would not be a wise choice for me, I buy them things I don't like. There is no non-medical (celiac, diabetic, etc) reason for a parent to have a different diet than their kids.

I recently went to Applebee's for the first time in y ears. I had the roasted sirloin 550under meal. It was, surprisingly, very very good. Steak was juicy, tender, done just right (medium rare). I was very pleasantly surprised.

On my "off" days, I often will take the dog for a walk or something. I stay active, but don't "exercise".

No, I take at least one day off to rest. There have been a few times when I've gone 12-13 days in a row, but there were usually extenuating circumstances. My goal is 6 days a week, but sometimes I'm satisfied with 5.

Check into shoes first. Are you wearing shoes that are appropriate for your running style, gait, etc? If not, that's often a very quick, cheap, easy solution.

I often just use balsamic vinegar - no oil even. Just enough to give some tang and moisture.

I lost 89 lbs - hit goal in November of 07. I stay within 4-5 pounds of my goal weight for about a year. Then was within 10 pounds of my goal for about another 2. I'm currently 20ish pounds over goal and working to get that back off. Maintenance is a *****!

leave it up to the kid. My daughter is almost 16 and has had male pediatricians for the past 9 years. Now that she has hit puberty (and beyond!) we'll be changing from a ped to a gyn. She has requested a female gyn. But a male ped never bothered her. Take your cues from your kid.
