  • Add me. I've been doing well this time round (since the middle of January) and have stayed on the waggon so far, but I have been a serial Day One offender in the past! I'm on here every day. :)
  • Yeah, second the having a drink. Also, do some exercise and then it distracts you a little. Or, do something fun that you enjoy that you'll enjoy and will help you forget about eating....especially if it's something that keeps your hands free (eg. I play piano, so that works) 'cause if you choose something like watching a…
  • I've been considering getting my hair cut short so I can have 10 minute showers, too.....I guess your story has made me think that maybe that's not such a good idea for me after all! Lol.
  • Yeah, agree with this. Some days you have 350 calories spare but then the next day you can go 600 calories over. Just try to work to your recommended calorie intake every day. Try not to go too far under or too far over and you should see a steadier weight loss. If it helps, maybe try to plan your meals in advance. I tend…
  • I was always really shy around guys and couple that along with the fact that I always kept myself really busy, I never really had time or the inclination to go out and look for anyone. I'd had the odd date with guys here and there but nothing that I wanted to pursue past the first date until I met the guy I'm now with when…
  • I think the key point here is that your wife found you unattractive when fat but she didn't leave you or threaten to leave you. Love was more than skin deep for her. Perhaps this is just one of those differences between men and women because I know that men are more visual but certainly I know that I, myself, and loads of…
  • Nah, seriously. My classes take place in the hall beside the conditioning gym so while we're all standing around waiting to go in, we talk, and it is something that other women have experienced, too. The first time I went into the conditioning gym (on my gym induction 5 years ago), I walked in and everyone apart from a few…
  • Just repeating what a lot of people have said, here, but your boyfriend seems like a huge issue. I know men can say dumb things sometimes (my boyfriend said to me on one of our first dates when I was wearing a skirt, "You know, you have hugely muscular calves"....eh, thanks. lol) but if what he has said has got your…
  • I'm beginning to wonder if the only place it has came off is my eyelids and internal organs! lol.
  • My gym doesn't but when I first started out, I'd probably have felt more comfortable with one. I'd actually like a ladies only weights section because both the conditioning gym and the weights machines in my gym are always over-run with the kind of guys who draw their eyes off you the minute you walk in as though you have…
  • Yeah, LiviLou, took them myself but in a mirror. I guess I just have to be patient a while longer. I've only got about 3 and a half stone to lose so I feel like I should be seeing a difference at half a stone since I don't have tonnes to lose but oh well, I'll just have to suck it up and keep trying.
  • Guess I shouldn't complain since some of you guys have had massive losses with no change, yet. I think I'm feeling down because I lost about a stone two years ago (went from 12 down to 11) and noticed a big difference in myself at 11. Doing the same thing this time, going from just under 12, down to 11 and although I'm not…
  • Well I'm from the UK where we have "real" football :p so just a normal Sunday for me, too.
  • You could write them as a comment, but then again, why would you want to keep them just to a few people when you could help out the whole community with them?
  • I'm from Scotland and I'm on here usually every day, so feel free to add me ;)
  • Yeah, I'm the same. I never feel comfortable enough to exercise the first 3 days. Add to that the fact that I have massive sugar cravings during it which really doesn't help. I feel like I NEED chocolate during it and it is so hard to stay strong and avoid eating any.
  • My Doctor told me that the Pill can cause weight gain. He said that studies aren't clear on the reason and that some people suggest it causes water retention; other people say it increases appetite; other people suggest that since people on the Pill are often in a stable relationship, they eat more because they're happy…
  • Have you had a dog/puppy before? They definately are a lot of work and any behavioural problems the dog has or develops sometimes can take a while to overcome. At the end of the day, if the landlord specifically said no pets when you took the apartment it is probably because he is worried about damage to his property or…
  • I feel your pain! I, too, wish I could run and have tried and tried to get into it and keep failing. I did, however, decide to give it another go today. I walked for 1.5k, then decided I would try to run half a k and then walk the 1.5k home again, just for a first stab at it. And I managed it OK. I ran 600m instead of 500…
  • My sister works as a primary school teacher and she tells me that the school meals are pretty tasteless now due to all the changes being made for health reason. BUT, the kids seem to still eat them quite happily so that can only be a good thing that they are used to eating nutritous food that isn't laden with salt and will…
  • I love Body Combat! Unfortunately, the really good instructor at my gym got his class cancelled because it wasn't very busy (was at 8.30 on a Tuesday, so I think it was too late for most people who want to get their workout done and get home), so I don't really go any more. But I recommend if you like Combat to try Body…
  • That is amazing! I've been exercising and counting calories on here now for 3 weeks now and had a 7lb loss on the scale but nowhere near those awesome body results that you have! You go girl!
  • Live a little! Just eat what you want for a night. If he cooks for you, then it would look terribly rude of you to leave food on your plate so you can stick to small portions and would probably make him think that you're a bit high maintainance. I mean, yeah, it's nice to think that a guy should understand that you're…
  • This made my day! Lol.
  • Take a picture of your goal jeans and stick that on the fridge instead?
  • I am not a morning person AT ALL, so I lie in bed until the very last minute. So I, like you, don't have time to prepare any hot brekkie or so forth but cereal is really quick and easy. I'm addicted to Weetabix. If you don't even have time for a bowl of cereal, what about grabbing a banana on the way out the door. I find…
  • I used to do that all the time. Now, I just use MFP religiously. I still eat crap and that's something I'm going to have to work on cutting out eventually but I only eat crap if it is within my calorie allowance. Especially if you work out, it leaves you some calorie room for a wee cheeky bit of junk food. I think if I…
  • Sodexo also has the contract for catering in some British Army training facilities. I don't know if it is just because they're preparing foods for soldiers doing training but the food seems always to be calorie laden food like chips, breaded meat, lasagne etc.
  • I think it is useful. Not, as you say, if you plan on building muscle but I know most women that I know who are wanting to lose weight have no intention of building much muscle to go along with that so BMI guidelines are quite useful for them.
  • Yup....a text like this sounds about right.
