You're not going to succeed until you give up the cheats. No candy bars - period. Cut out sugar. No frigging pizza! Eat the same meals every day. You'll never learn what works by spitballing it and having an inconsistent diet. Don't listen to those on here who tell you those behaviors are okay - they just want you to join…

The easiest way to start to eat clean is to do two things : first, go through your kitchen and toss all the crap in the trash (and don't care what you paid for it, be ruthless), and 2) make sure when you shop that you are buying ingredients, not ready-to-eat.

The Ab Roller. Definitely.

Just as long as you don't get gout, don't worry. Protein is good for you.

Anything that stops these stupid, narcissistic threads for people who crave validation.

1) Don't worry about macros until you're within 15 lbs of goal - it's just background noise. 2) Eat high protein, low carb every day. Again, don't worry about cycling or cheat days - strict adherence to the plan is what's needed now. 3) Strength train, cardio is a waste of time. While it may help, an hour of lifting…

Join Crossfit. Quit complaining.

Remember - unless your thighs reach horizontal or below, it doesn't count as a squat.

I've been doing CF for about a year. Can't say I lost 'weight' though, if anything I've gained but it's muscle mass.
-
Tried it years and years ago... bored me to tears. Verdict: no results.

Because I'm a great date!

okay, first : cardio is the worst way to try to lose weight so just forget it. I know people swear by it, and it's the conventional wisdom - but no one's really successful with it. It takes two things: calorie control to lose fat (notice I didn't say 'weight' bc who wants to lose muscle?) and strength training to maintain…

Many MFPer's are not going to like this.......but.... cardio is a terrible way to try to lose weight. I know it's been drummed into our skulls since we were kids but there's no proof that it works. Let me put it this way: imagine you were from Mars, and suddenly put on earth in human form. Out-of-shape, overweight human…

nah, she'd kick my a**

"Who has had to completely give up alcohol for weight loss?" - anyone who wants to succeed.

Sure!

I blame me.

There is some evidence of an increase in cravings associated with diet soda... but if you can maintain your intake, have at it. Personally, if it increased my cravings I'd stop it because why torture myself?

The only time I ever hurt my back lifting was the first (and only!) time I did a deadlift on a Smith machine. Eff that hahaha.

Beats me, can't see a thing hahaha

A much greater risk of tearing your bicep. Also, if you let your arm fully extend on the way down you put pressure on the elbow in a way that it is not suited to support. Basically it's this (and it's true of most weight machines) - anything that is designed to artificially restrain your body to isolate a muscle is…

I hit the gym at 4 am... If I didn't take half a 5-hour Energy I'd never get through it.
-
Yea, isolate like dbmata says. It's a good way to get injured, and you'll really feel that hahaha. Try some preacher curls on the bench if you really feel like taking risks - they're almost as bad as shrugs. Otherwise, keep doing what you're doing and slowly increase the weight every week.
-
First, it's water. Relax. The real issue here is that you're weighing yourself daily - let it go. Once a week is fine, we're not counting ounces here but following trends. Down is good, up is bad (though not always).
-
When you're on the phone, make sure it syncs and it not just running locally. Take this from someone with 1,006 days under his belt hahaha.

Don't add the exercise?
