  • I log absolutely everything.
  • Agreed, completely and utterly ridiculous statement to make. I'm sure there are slimming and dieting companies the world over that are region specific, it doesn't make one better than the other. People have to find the way that works best for them. If MFP works for you and Slimming World works for someone else, then to…
  • I do. Well, most of them. I realise that the 'calories burned' figures are just an estimate so until I can get a heart rate monitor to give me a slightly more accurate estmate I give a bit if leeway and assume it's over-generous.
  • Yes eat your exercise calories back. You're looking for net calories consumed, so if you burn an extra 400 you should eat them back (in a healthy way, obv.)
  • Which pub are you going to OP? Some do put the nutritional info online, especially if it's a big chain. We went to a Wetherspoons the other week and I checked it beforehand to know what was within my allowance! (Surprisingly the cheesy garlic bread was less than a bowl of chips...yum!) I'd probably be more hesitant if it…
  • I do it sometimes and it's worked ok so far. Last week my brother made homemade pizza for Wrestlemania (I stayed for the pizza and left after the first match haha). It put me over my daily goal by about 900 calories, so I ate 300 less for the next 3 days. My weekly total ended up about right and I still lost 1lb by the end…
  • Well, you're actually below average as the average UK dress size is a 14 (or even a 16 depending on your source). You definitely sound like you have an eating disorder, whether you're on your way to anorexia or not I think seeing your doctor and getting a referral to a counsellor would be a good start. A nutritionist may…
  • No but I suspect they will. I'm only 5'1" so my healthy weight range is low in comparison to someone of a more average height. I'm also very, very overweight currently so to go down to a healthy weight will be a massive drop - to tell someone I'm looking at losing 5 or 6 stone I know from past experience will not go down…
  • If that was me I'd get a Boots meal deal and choose the Shapers options. At least everything's calorie counted which will make it easier to see what you've eaten.
  • Hope you enjoyed it!
  • Our house is full of chocolate eggs. And cake. And hot cross buns. And all the food for Easter lunch tomorrow...I am officially taking this weekend off and enjoying myself!
  • I noticed you cycle, do you do any sports/hobbies with other people? I would try making new friends from fitness classes or sports or something. I have several more reclusive friends - some of them frequently turn down invitations to hang out with us so they can play video games instead - so I don't count on those guys to…
  • Yup, got a Lindt one which I cannot wait for! Wish my colleagues would give me Easter eggs. You can always send your excess chocolate my way if you like :)
  • I love to snack, so I decided to work with it rather than against it. After tracking my food for a couple of weeks I realise I don't snack at ALL during the day but after dinner (which is at about 7pm) is when I want to eat. I'm not always hungry, but I want to eat. I save a portion of my calories for the evening so if I…
  • + To be slim, healthy and toned + To have smaller boobs! So many girls post that they're sad they've lost their boobs, I can't wait for these bad boys to disappear! + To be able to do the things my weight has prevented me from doing - wearing certain clothes, playing sports. + To be healthy. Cancer and heart disease run in…
  • Honestly, I fully forsee myself gorging on chocolate this Easter after no chocolate for 6 weeks! I'll probably do a load of extra exercise over the Easter week and keep reminding myself about my progress so far. Also my boyfriend has bought me a Lindt easter egg; it's so expensive there's no way I'll eat it all in one day!…
  • Vegetarians don't cut out dairy, just meat. Vegans cut out dairy products though. OP I'm veggie and am usually under my carbs. Don't know if I'm typical or not though.
  • Ahh thanks guys. I will not even bother with it then :)
  • Weekly. It helps that we don't actually own a scale so I walk to the local pharmacy and use theirs. I'd be interested to see how my weight fluctuates daily, and even over the space of a day actually, but I could never be a slave to my scales. I also measure myself and take pictures to give me a way to track progress for…
  • OP here - wasn't expecting such a great response to this thread; love reading everyone's answers! One little thing I learned recently when I had my very first loss - seeing that new smaller number on the scales feels bloody AMAZING!
  • I haven't bought one yet (just waiting for pay day) but I recently asked a similar question and after the answers I got, plus researching on other sites and reading reviews I've decided to go for the Polar FT4. Really looking forward to getting mine.
  • I gave up chocolate for Lent so I told my boyfriend I wanted an easter egg as big as my head! But since nowhere seems to make ginormous easter eggs (I swear Thorntons used to?!) I've settled for a Lindt one :D Oh well, quality over quantity right? PS - That one you pictured looks pretty heavenly though!
  • I expected you to say somethng along the lines or work commitments or something, which sucks but can't always be avoided, but your healthy plans are getting derailed because your husband just randomly changes plans? Granted you're the one on the diet not him but he could show more consideration. If he knows you're…
  • I started by eating slightly larger portions. Like, I cut my portions way down when I started MFP and wasn't exercising, but once I'd started working out I would add a yoghurt to my fruit salads at breakfast, or eat something more substantial like beans on toast instead. I've also recently bought some dried fruits which…
  • Thanks guys! Now I have some brand names etc it will help narrow down my search.
  • Thank you. Can I ask which kind you use? Are different versions better for different kinds of exercise or is it just whichever one I want to go for?
  • I try and eat veg with all my meals but got sick of throwing away veg from the fridge. I started buying frozen veg (own brand!) and keeping several different varieties stashed away in the freezer to add to my meals. They're pretty cheap but last for ages. Some, like the peas can be used as ingredients in other recipes…
  • About 7pm in an ideal world. Doesn't always go that way every day!
  • Fully clothed because I don't own a scale so I use one in my local pharmacy. I think they'd be a bit surprised if I turned up naked for that one!
  • Good job! (I especially like the Bon Jovi quote haha). I can't wait 'til I can take some 'after' pics, posts like these keep me inspired.
