I agree. Especially this part: Vitamins are not a substitute for a balanced diet. I'm glad the OP is feeling poitive and encouraged about losing weight but I worry she's going about it in an unhealthy and unsustainable way.

Take measurements too, while the scale might not be moving you might be dropping inches.
-
Wow you look amazing! I'm a shortie too so your pics are very inspiring. Thanks for posting. x

You look stunning, at 133 and at 115. If I were you I'd go out and wear that bikini with pride, you earned it!

I've made a point of NOT talking about it around friends and family. They don't give me a minute by minute account of what they'e eaten/when they've worked out so I don't do it to them. I know it's hard though because when you embark on something so positive and life-changing as overhauling your lifestyle it's difficult…

Agree with the above, I forward plan EVERYTHING. How about making something that can keep for leftovers and freezing individual portions. Before you leave for the day you can take it out to defrost and know when you get home all you have to do is re-heat it.

WOW! So happy for you that you made such an amazing turnaround. Here's to a healthy and happy life :)

I save myself some calories for night too. It saves my sanity when I know I've got enough for some fruit/toast/yoghurt/whatever I fancy.

Fruit salad. This has been my standard breakfast since before I started on here even; I can't stomach eating anything else first thing in the morning. But then I work from home so it's easy for me to pick at my little bowl of fruit while I work.

I agree with Lora, listen to your doctor not someone on a forum. You're going to have to readjust your attitudes to eating and food (but then, don't we all?) It'll take a bit of time. Give your doctor's diet plan a chance, you might be surprised by the results. And if it still doesn't work for you after you've tried it you…

Maybe, maybe not. I can't speak for the OP but if I'm snacking it's usually out of boredom or habit than hunger.
-
Wow you look amazing! Your starting weight was close to mine so you have defintiely inspired me to stick at it! Good luck on your run.
-
Agreeing with everyone else. I use mine every day for every meal, always have - even before I started trying to lose weight! Mine isn't a digital one but I'd recommend buying digital; much, much better for accuracy.

I can't really help because I'm in the same boat. Disheartening isn't it? :( Sorry I can't be much help, hope some of the other members can give you some good advice!

When is Memorial Day?

I have never been slim so have no experience of what it's like on the other side. I can only hope it gets better though, as it can't be much worse than the attitudes people have towards you when you're overweight! One thing I've found is that people don't seem to view me as a 'fat girl' for some reason, probably because…

No, technically you're not a vegetarian. It's cool if you still eat meat and seafood if that's what you want, but however rarely you eat it it still doesn't make you a vegetarian.

I have very little appetite during the day so find avoiding snacks pretty easy then but I really start craving things in the evening. Like you I'm not always even hungry, I just eat out of boredom or force of habit. I've learnt to save myself some calories to allow a snack after dinner if I want one. I'm going to eat the…

Could you blend/mash veg into other foods? My brother is a notoriously picky eater, and when we were younger my parents would do things like mash cauliflower in with his mashed potatoes to try and up his veg intake. He's an adult now and eats marginally better, and still does similar things. When making a base tomato sauce…

Everyone has given really sound advice. You've done amazingly to eat healthily for a month, allow yourself that little splurge (and let's face it it could have been much, much worse!) and carry on as you have been doing. One shared basket of fried will not de-rail you, don't worry!

Same here! I ate a cream scone thing from Morrisons after my lunch this afternoon and when I entered it to my diary found out it was 400-odd calories. Oops! I too felt guilty, but have decided I'm just gonna work out this evening (wasn't planning on originally...) and not buy them next time. It was really nice but not 400…

I've never been a breakfast person; I just don't really like breakfast foods and I never have an appetite first thing in the morning. Since I started working from home I make myself a fruit salad; just chop up two or three kinds of fruit and put them in a bowl then I can just pick at it while I'm at my desk. This is the…

I don't! I find the time I most want to eat is between about 8pm and midnight. I've learnt to make sure I save enough calories that I can snack in the evening because otherwise I start to want to eat everything in the house.

A thousand times this.

This.

I work from home so colleagues aren't an issue but I haven't told my friends or family I'm dieting, partly for this reason. I've eaten out with friends several times and no one has even noticed I'm eating a healthier diet, but the minute I point it out you can bet people will be trying to get me to eat chocolate cake!

This. All of this. Good job to all the parents making better choices for their kids, whichever point they happen to be at on that journey.

I am a creature of routine haha. Breakfast and lunch is generally the same (dieting or not) and then dinner is where I go wild. Do you save anything for snacks? I can eat minimal food during the day, I don't get hungry or get cravings until late evening. 6pm onwards and I just want to eat everything in the house. I've…

Thanks for that. Maybe I need to get better at pre-planning my meals. I'm assuming as time goes on I'll get better at understanding the calorie/fat/whatever content of foods and it will start to become second nature to make better food choices.

This. I am 5'1" and weigh far, far too much for such a tiny frame. However, I have been this way for almost all my life. People I know don't see me as 'fat' they seem to see being fat as just being part of who I am. In a way that acceptance is nice but they are very resistant to me losing 'too much' weight. It's hard to…
